The team at Gedney Farm was wonderful from the moment we toured for the first time through the last song. Their food is spectacular and their whole team went above and beyond to make sure our day was exactly what we wanted.

Gedney is a lovely inn and restaurant located in the heart of the Berkshires, and the space is gorgeous - it can be as rustic or as modern as you want, and needs very little decoration to make it beautiful. They have a wonderful events coordinator, Samantha, that helps you through the entire process, making sure you meet deadlines and guiding you through the process of selecting food, reception configurations, location, and more. The sommelier and the chef were also wonderful. Our guests could not stop raving about the food.

We were married outside during the summer and the cocktail reception was indoor/outdoor with the dinner and reception indoors upstairs. We also had a group of our friends stay with us onsite; there's plenty of room for hanging out in the inn itself. If you're like we were, you care a LOT about climate control, especially in summer and winter, so we were grateful that not only did we have good weather, but the venue is fully heated and air conditioned. We opted for the Argentine grill at the cocktail hour - you will NOT regret it (our guests are still raving about the ribs - a friend's husband had at least 5, and my own uncle pulled me aside at a family holiday party to specifically talk to me about them). The setting is magical and the photos reflect it. I fully endorse having your wedding at Gedney Farm. What a gem in The Berkshires!

We visited 9 wedding venues over the course of 4 days, and didn't plan on expanding our search. The first 8 were fine; they had pros and cons; we knew we could make one of them work. Then we visited our ninth and final venue: Gedney Farm. My husband, sister-in-laws, and I all immediately knew it was perfect for us. We'd wanted a barn, and the three floors at Gedney were so much more spacious and airy than the others we'd seen. I wanted an indoor ceremony, and the loft level was the perfect location I'd never known I always wanted. The onsite hotel provided the perfect intimate setting for our bridal party. It was a gorgeous, romantic setting. The staff was laid back, but super friendly and capable. We can't wait to come back for future anniversaries and celebrations. Could not recommend more!

Gedney Farm is the most amazing place to get married. It literally has everything - an incredibly beautiful rustic barn space that barely needs decorating, gorgeous natural grounds, amazing decor, a charming inn on site, absolutely delicious food, and THE MOST INCREDIBLE staff. My husband and I could not believe how supportive and helpful everyone was every step of the way, and since our wedding our family and friends have not stopped raving about Gedney. It rained on our wedding day, which changed some of our plans, but everyone was ready with a plan B and even our plan B was beyond our wildest expectations. We'd recommend it to anyone in a heartbeat, and we can't imagine celebrating this momentous occasion anywhere else.

We are so grateful to Gedney Farm for making our wedding so beautiful. Colleen and Mike were with us every step of the planning process, and were totally dedicated to making each detail accessible, affordable, and beyond gorgeous. The food was delicious (especially our wedding pies!), our guests were thrilled with their accomodations, and every component on the day of our wedding was executed seamlessly. We just sat back and enjoyed a great party! Thanks, Gedney- you're the best!

My husband and I wanted a non traditional, simple, and classy wedding. As soon as we went to Gedney Farm (which was the first "formal" venue we looked at) we realized this was the place from the moment we walked in! The venue is rustic and beautiful, the staff was so accomodating and precessional. We did not have one hiccup. We couldn't be happier with Gedney Farm and their staff...we have received so many compliments on our wedding, from the quality of the food, the wonderful staff, and the esthetic location! Thank you!

Gedney Farm is truly a magical place for a wedding. We had a winter wedding and it could not have been more beautiful. The big heated barn has 3 levels-- we had our ceremony on the 3rd floor loft, cocktails on the first floor and the reception on the main floor. The people at Gedney were very easy to work with-- they recommended a florist who knew the space and transformed it into the most beautiful setting. Our guests kept asking us how we found the place-- everyone loved it! The food was also amazing. Gedney has an excellent chef who put together a delicious menu for our wedding. We had our rehearsal dinner at Mepal Manor, a sister property, which was also very pretty (a big Irish castle looking venue). Both places had fireplaces going all weekend. Our guests took up all of the rooms at both places so we had both Mepal Manor and Gedney for the whole weekend. Our wedding weekend at Gedney Farm was everything we dreamed of and more!

From the day we signed the contract until the reception came to a close, the staff at Gedney Farm were incredibly professional and helpful. Having the bridal party staying on location was a huge benefit and added to a great weekend. Despite having bad weather that moved the ceremony inside, the folks at Gedney did everything we asked of them and went above and beyond what we would have expected, not just on the day of the wedding but the entire weekend. I can't recommend this venue enough.

We had three wedding events at Gedney Farm, and are so glad that we chose them as the venue for our wedding! Their management team--Colleen, Peter, Michael, and Rob--are all great and we truly enjoyed planning the wedding with Colleen, who was so nice, flexible, and responsive. The staff for the events were also lovely. All of our guests thought the venue and location was stunning and loved the little details in the barn. If it is within your budget, I would highly recommend Gedney Farm as a wedding venue!

Alright...this is a tough review to write. Overall, Gedney is great. There are just some nuances.

Gedney Farm is a beautiful venue. We really loved being secluded for our wedding weekend. That being said, it is expensive, it has no cell phone reception, and planning vendors can be tricky. These are not dealbreakers, just warnings for planning brides. First of all, Gendey has a preferred vendors list, which is great! Except they were all out of our price range, and almost all of them were booked by the time we contacted them (over a year out). Gedney was nice and let us use our own vendors.

Secondly, Colleen and James are super helpful the day of. But they are not wedding planners. What I mean to say is, if you need help planning and coordinating before the event happens, that is not something that they do. At least, that is not my experience. They can help you develop a floor plan for seating and a schedule, but finding vendors and coordinating them is up to you.

Now that the warnings are over, if this venue is within your budget, DO IT. I loved my wedding there. The outdoor ceremony location was amazing, the back up in the loft was great to have, my bridal party loved staying on site, and the food was great. We had the rehearsal dinner, day of lunch, cocktail hour, dinner, and then following day brunch. All of the food was great except the food at the rehearsal dinner, which was decent but not as amazing as their other food. James and Colleen are super friendly and good at what they do. The chef, wait staff, and bar manager were all super courteous.

Gedney was a wonderful venue to work with. They were organized and responsive from Day One. They're one of the only venues in the Berkshires that offers winter weddings, and the setting was idyllic for our snowy wedding. They have a lot of requirements in terms of room booking and set catering packages, but everything was relatively standard for an event space. They require you use their food, drink, and cake services, which was fine and saved us from having to find those other vendors - it does make it hard to negotiate price, however, if you're very cost conscious. We were comfortable with their pricing and found them to be very reasonable given limited options. Regardless of price, the food and drinks were to die for and the people are so very wonderful to work with - many of our guests remarked on how lovely the staff at the venue was and how much they enjoyed their time on site. I'd recommend Gedney to anyone that is looking for a beautiful venue in the Berkshires that isn't completely cookie-cutter but is also not completely DIY.

I loved getting ready onsite in this beautiful spa. It was really relaxing to be there early and shower and have my hair blown out. It was big enough to accomodate all of my wedding party and everyone looked beautiful. On the other hand- there weren't a lot of options for me to bring in my own hair/makup becuase I'm not from the area and I'm also wasn't picky about those things. Unfortunately I didn't love the way I looked. It's not entirely the fault of the spa. I have some really tricky brown spots on my face that are hard to cover and the Jane Irdale makeup couldn't do it without looking really thick. My suggestion is to either bring your own products or to do more than one run-through if you can. The spa itself is marvelous for getting ready but it can be a little unnerving to work with people you don't know. If you're like me, you might be shy to say you don't like it and then you're stuck with weird makeup and hair in your pictures!
