An equally kind & talented photographer

This review is very long overdue, but my husband and I wanted to share what a wonderful experience we had working with Gina on both our engagement photos and wedding photos. In searching for photographers, we found a lot of work that was posed and formulaic. When we came across Gina’s portfolio, it was like a breath of fresh air. She has both the truthful eye of a documentarian and a sentimental heart. The combination makes for warm, timeless, and authentic photos that can transport you right back to your feelings in that moment. On top of this, her website and Instagram contained multicultural and diverse images of clients which I had not seen in other photographers we looked...

In searching for photographers, we found a lot of work that was posed and formulaic. When we came across Gina’s portfolio, it was like a breath of fresh air. She has both the truthful eye of a documentarian and a sentimental heart. The combination makes for warm, timeless, and authentic photos that can transport you right back to your feelings in that moment. On top of this, her website and Instagram contained multicultural and diverse images of clients which I had not seen in other photographers we looked into.
On the day of our wedding, Gina had a calm and attentive presence and seemed to capture every special detail without any direction from us. There was a lot of structure to the day, but she found ways to capture the spontaneous moments as well. Our guests and flower girl loved her and all asked how we found her. We are grateful that Gina captured so many special moments and could not imagine any one else photographing such an important day.

Best wedding photographer!

I found and followed Gina years ago while browsing through photojournalistic wedding photographers, and her photos stood out to me as full of life, vibrancy, and warmth. When we started planning our wedding, we were so excited that she was available to work with us. Our first meeting with her put us even more at ease, as she was just as full of the warmth and sweetness present in her photos. Kind! Professional! Flexible! Gina is the BEST!

Gina was the first person we hired for our wedding, and I absolutely cannot imagine our wedding without her. When we hired Gina we were thrilled to have found an artist with such a stunning body of photojournalistic work who also aligned with our values. What we couldn't have anticipated is that we'd also found the perfect person to greet the wild uncertainty and last-minute changes that came with our March 2020 wedding with flexibility and joy!

I remember being on the phone with Gina days before her scheduled flight to Iowa expecting to hear that she couldn't make it. But she came! She greeted us like old friends and took all our last-minute changes into stride with...

Incredible Talent and Professionalism

When we started looking for a wedding photographer, we were drawn to the photojournalistic style. We contacted her about possibly coming to the East Coast for our Summer Camp wedding and lucked out that she was in fact available! We had a phone call meeting and then met...

I found a write up of Gina's work on A Practical Wedding and when we looked at her website and sample galleries we agreed that she had that exact style that we were looking for. When we looked at her pricing we worried that it was too good to be true. We contacted her about possibly coming to the East Coast for our Summer Camp wedding and lucked out that she was in fact available! We had a phone call meeting and then met her while she was in NYC opening a show which featured her work documenting an artist. In person she was relaxed, fun and very competent.

When the wedding weekend finally arrived she arrived early and greeted us like old friends, she explored out site and mapped out potential photo moments, and potential problems. She did her absolute best to minimize the time for the few portraits we needed, and then found a few moments to shoot just the two of us. Neither of us felt super comfortable with the idea of a photoshoot focused on us, but Gina totally made us feel comfortable the whole time. She even made a 200+ Person "class photo" work quickly and beautifully!

The pictures turned out incredibly. She captured so many wonderful quiet moments that we would have otherwise missed, the way the flower petals fell at our ceremony, our grandmothers chatting with one another, the smiles of our friends bartending for us, our little nieces and nephews rolling down the hill behind the reception! And she also managed to get all the big moments too, from the speeches, the first dances, and the the feel of the dinner and party!

We absolutely recommend Gina to anyone who wants a painless and fun experience as well as photos that not only capture the moment, but are themselves objects of art.

As both a photographer and a human, Gina is amazing. It was such a treat to fly her out to my hometown and have her capture the charm of the small coastal town where I grew up. In all honesty, I cried when I looked through our photo gallery. Our wedding venue and the surrounding area was hit hard by a hurricane just a month after our wedding, so having this moment in time—with the landscape captured so gracefully in pictures of those closest to me—is something my family and I will treasure forever.

I can't say enough good things about Gina. We were so happy to have her as a part of our wedding. She had a shot list of portraits to work though, but after that is where she really shines. The main thing I was looking for in a photographer was someone who could shoot photojournalism style, and Gina delivered. She was always right there, but never in the way. I hired Gina for my engagement and wedding photos for my "destination" wedding in LA. From the very first email, I could tell she was an awesome, down to earth person, and she was even better in person. My husband and I are not the outgoing type, so the engagement shoot was very nerve racking for us but Gina not only found an AMAZING location to shoot at - which was exactly what I was looking for, just couldn't find myself - but helped us to feel more comfortable in front of the camera. I'm not into the typical engagement photo shoots that are super posed and she helped us achieve exactly what we wanted.

For the wedding - I just want to start out by saying that multiple people came up to me to tell me how awesome my photographer was. How often does that happen?? Gina was there from the getting ready photos until the dance floor and every step of the way she was amazing! She was very professional, patient, and knew exactly what she was doing and she did it very well. I seriously, I wish that I could've invited Gina as a guest because she fit in so well.

Gina is a truly a great photographer, for both weddings/events and her personal work. I know friends and family that have paid 5x's+ more than what I paid for my photos and they weren't anywhere as happy as I am with my photos. She was also very helpful when it came to us making larger decisions, like where to get ready and when to arrive at our wedding venue.

The biggest take away, however, from working with Gina is how much more fun she made our two days. Don't get me wrong, the wedding and reception was epic, but Gina made it unforgettable. People don't tell you how important it is to have a photographer that is kind, cool, and approachable. Remember, that photographer is with you during some of the most special, intimate moments. And having Gina besides us was such a blessing. She made us smile, laugh, and chill out. She brought so much joy to that day.

A Phenomenal Photographer!

I had the best wedding photographer

A few years before I was even engage I heard my coworkers arguing about who had the best wedding photographer and it ended up they both had the same one. Gina Clyne. I wrote down the name in a sticky note and came back to it when it was time for my wedding. Luckily Gina was available and she did not disappoint. It was so great working with her and the photos came out amazing. I usually get really awkward when taking photos and she made me feel relaxed and excited. I remember seeing her appearing at the right moments to capture it without getting in the way. I loved how she took some photos in film. I highly recommend her. You too could be part of the "I had the best wedding photographer club!"

Lovely photos, easy going, great communication!

We loved the beautiful photos Gina took of our intimate park wedding. It was so cool having the combination of film and digital that made for unique photos. She was very present but also not the distracting which was perfect for our small ceremony. I would definitely recommend Gina!

Stellar photographer + person

Let's be real, having your wedding photos taken is awkward AF. Combine that stress with wanting to find a photographer who "gets" you and your vision. Gina delivered on all accounts and then some!! Before the wedding, Gina was professional, communicative and offered wonderful suggestions for scheduling. She frontloaded the formal portraits so we had more time to enjoy ourselves and our guests during the event. She immediately made us feel at ease and it showed in how natural our portraits looked. After we received our photos I couldn't stop staring at them! The colors, the faces, the details she captured just brought me so much joy. Weddings go by so quick but having these beautiful photos just takes me back to that day. Please do yourself a favor and hire her.

Very Professional and Considerate

Gina was an excellent photographer. She provided a ton of great pictures that were well-edited and expertly composed. She has a very natural style. After reviewing the photos, we both agreed that they really captured the feel of our wedding. Gina was also very professional, offering easy-to-use subject templates for family pictures. Gina Clyne is THE BEST!

We could not have been happier with our decision to work with Gina on photos. She was the most generous, warm, and supportive presence on the day of our ceremony. She is so attentive to a couple's particular vibe and needs. And I cannot emphasize how much this comes across in the end result! We just got photos back, and we were both in tears reliving that day. If you're looking for a photographer who is warm, caring, professional, and awesome — hire Gina! We had the extreme pleasure of working with her this past year, and all we can say is WOW! From our initial meetings to planning up through the big day, Gina was extremely communicative and helpful. So many wedding photos felt generic to us but hers were artful and full of life. We wanted a documentary style of photography that told a story without us having to spend a lot of time posing or stepping out of the moment to take pictures. We wanted a documentary style of photography that told a story without us having to spend a lot of time posing or stepping out of the moment to take pictures. We also wanted personality and a cool perspective, and Gina's eye is special. That was obvious looking at her website.

We don't live in L.A., so our first "meeting" with Gina was via phone. Even through the phone we felt that talking to Gina was like talking with a friend, and it was obvious from the start that we were on the same page in our goal to capture our wedding in a way that felt natural and organic to us. She is a great listener and clearly dedicated to her clients' wishes. We felt that in the first phone call and we definitely felt it at our wedding. It was totally natural to have her there and genuinely felt like she was our friend, so easy to talk to and so fun! One guest described her as being "nowhere and everywhere" as a photographer, and that's so true. She seemed both omnipresent and not at all intrusive. Our wedding day brought a crazy storm and, with it, crazy unpredictable last minute changes. Gina was not only totally flexible and responsive, but in seeing our wedding photos, we realized that she told the story of that day and its weather in the most beautiful, true way. The pictures capture the emotion and vibe of the whole event so, so well, and we will cherish them forever. We loved hanging out with Gina, we love our pictures, she is organized and professional beyond any other vendor we worked with, and we would recommend her a thousand times over. Her affordability is just a bonus. She's the best!

I love how Gina captured our wedding. I look back at the pictures and I’m instantly transported back to the loud, colorful, joyous weekend spent with family and friends in Mexico. She documented it perfectly – from the gorgeous scenery to the tiniest of details. I am amazed at how one person could capture so much without me once feeling like I had a photographer in my face. Gina puts everyone at ease. She’s able to wrangle people and move a timeline along while keeping everyone in the party vibe. She’s an experienced traveler which was another one of the many reasons why she was the perfect fit for our destination wedding. Also, she’s so lovely my parents still...

Gina Clyne is a very talented photographer. Not only does she have a great eye but she has a calming personality. Her presence at my wedding ended up being one of the reasons the night turned out so well. She was always in the right place at the right moment, I never once had to think about where she was, she just knew where to be. Once we got our photos back we were extremely impressed by the quality and quantity of all of them. Now that our friend are getting married they are coming to us to ask for Gina's name because they remember what a great person she was to have on board and they love our wedding photos as much as we do.

Gina Clyne is incredible and you should hire her immediately. What attracted us initially to Gina was her photo journalistic documentary style of photography which easily stood out in a sea of wedding photography websites. Thankfully when we met her in person, Gina proved to be very easy going and had a laugh that was not only infectious but put us at ease the day of which made being photographed by her a breeze. My husband and I cannot put into words how much we love our photos and we are so thankful we found Gina.
