    Simply Perfect!

The team at GLOW was so wonderful to work with throughout the process of planning my wedding. They did an amazing job for us Saturday! The hair and makeup Asia did for me as the bride was exactly what I had envisioned and my mother, sister and now mother-in-law all looked stunning! I was impressed with both Samantha and Asia for their professionalism and knack for working with the photography team. Rave reviews all around!

    Super service and VERY accomidating!

I woke up extremely sick the morning of the ball. I ended up going to a hydration therapy place, which made me late (and MIA) for my hair and makeup appt. Bernadette and Teresa bent over backwards to accommodate the last minute schedule changes. I was NOT an ideal client and they were not only very professional, but they were genuinely nice about the whole thing. My hair AND makeup was STUNNING! These women are true professionals!

Talented hair & makeup artists, below average logistics

My GLOW pros did an excellent job beautifying me and my bridesmaids on my wedding day in October.

Where GLOW fell short was in professionalism, accountability, and customer service of "front office" staff & those planning logistics. We ended up having to postpone our wedding due to the pandemic, and GLOW confirmed availability for my new date, which I gave them over a year ahead of time (July 2020 for October 2021 wedding), and my designated GLOW Pro also confirmed her availability for October 2021. In November, I was informed that my initial GLOW Pro was "already booked" for our date, despite previously confirming her availability. When I inquired why I was finding out about this now, I received a response including "these are weird times." My GLOW Pro was then switched to someone else. A few months later, my GLOW Pro changed again, but I didn't receive information about this until it was time for me to schedule my trial. When I scheduled with the correct GLOW Pro, I then arrived at my trial, I was intercepted by someone who I thought was my GLOW Pro. She began asking me about how I'd like to look on my day, etc. as I sit in her chair. She then sees a text on her phone and realizes that I am not the client she was supposed to intercept. It turns out, the other GLOW Pro in the studio at the time was supposed to be doing my trial. Nobody asked my name or confirmed my information when I first walked in. I was so frustrated that I no longer wanted to work with GLOW, but by that time, I had already signed the contract that includes the phrase, "no other hair and makeup artists can be on on site," meaning only GLOW can service your wedding, so I was stuck.

The lack of customer service was highly disappointing and left much to be desired. Fortunately, there are talented hair and makeup artists working for GLOW who know what they are doing.

    Disappointed

I was very disappointed in this company. It's very much a shame because the makeup artist was very talented and sweet. However, the professional and communication of this company are lacking. At one point, I emailed the company with questions in April and did not hear back until June. I tried calling them by phone, but no one answered. I only had my answer after my mother contacted them.
My stylist after the trial run said I could text or call her with any questions. I tried texting with no answer once again.
On the day of my wedding, one of my bridesmaids was not properly informed that lashes would be extra. The company emailed me stating that the bridesmaid was planning on venmoing me. That's perfectly fine. However, when I told my bridesmaid about it; she was surprised because she had no idea.
Those are just a few examples. There were multiple instances of poor communication and unprofessionalism. I could go on, but I won't.

    GLOW's reply:

    Hi Carolyn,
We are so sorry to hear that you did not have a good experience with GLOW our goal is always to be the best in every way. Our records show that you made a request on March 20th we sent an email with our price list the same day (automated) asking you to fill out a profile. We see that you filled out a profile on April 11th, and by April 14th, we had sent a contract, and you were booked by April 18th. As far as pricing, we send out a pricelist with added fees with the contract that was signed by you stating you looked through it and agreed. All our GlowPros are trained to answer any questions you might have, but it is up to the bride to communicate to the bridal party beforehand of added cost the day of, as we have no communication with them before the wedding day. All our records show (we will be happy to send them) that we communicated this in emails that you replied to and agreed to. We apologize that you feel we weren't up to par; we are happy to make it right and would have if we knew it was a big inconvenience. Again our goal is to always inform our brides of all the information they need to relay to their party, we apologize if there was a miscommunication with one of your bridesmaids.

    Brides take caution

I recently booked Glow for my wedding this past November and am just now able to leave any review of the services I received as I was at a loss for words for the last few months.

As I was getting married in Birmingham, but currently living out of state, we wound up having to do all of our planning and booking remotely. Reception venue, DJ, caterer etc etc.

After hours of research, I chose Glow for me and my bridal party as they had several outstanding reviews. During my first call with the company, I explained to them my situation of being out of state and they assured me that they would be willing to work with me to make this happen, much to my relief.

Fast forward to the morning of the wedding. The first thing any of the 3 Glow girls said to me, after ignoring me for a good 30 min or so, was to ask if I was the bride that hadn’t booked her trial run. I stated I was and apologized saying I was out of state up until the few days prior to the wedding and due to the craziness of the last minute planning in those few last days, I had informed the company months in advance that I wouldn’t be able to book a trial run.
I would wind up having to repeat this to them throughout the rest of the morning as they would repeatedly ask me this.

I was such a ball of nerves the morning of the wedding, my husband to be had injured his back in a fall a few months prior and it had started to hurt him again severely the night before the wedding. Both he and I had to run to pick up the cake for the reception the crack of dawn that morning and seeing how much pain he in was all I could think about and yet he and I both were still having to answer final detail answers moments up to the ceremony and the stress was overwhelming.

When I first sat down in the chair for my makeup to be done, I was SO relieved when the makeup artist was confident that she could do the natural Smokey eye with neutral colors and soft lip look that I was going for. After seeing the reference photos I had picked out, she seemed as if it would be a breeze. As I wanted to have a soft, bright and glowy look, I was sure to note that I was not a fan of heavy black eyeliner. I ignored the comments about how dry my skin appeared, the jokes about how fair my skin tone is, and how tired I looked during the rest of the process and just kept hoping my fiancé was doing ok.

I did not see the final look until I sat down for my hair to be done, at which point I could have cried on the spot. The sight of the pink and purple Smokey eye and heavy and uneven black eyeliner was honestly so unexpected i could only say thank you to the makeup artist as I knew we were running out of time. I had never felt more ugly in my life. I carefully fixed the over lined and jagged lipliner that had been done.

As the hairdresser started on my hair, she scolded me for using hairspray the morning of the wedding, asking if I hadn’t read the instructions they had given us. I stated I washed my hair at 3am that morning when I had finished steam ironing my wedding dress, gone to bed until 6am when I ran out the door with half wet hair in a loose low bun to pick up my fiancé on the way to grab the cake. I hadn’t even had time to change out of my pajamas that morning let alone think about using hair spray. After stating 2 more times that she believed I definitely did, I just stopped talking. The hair dresser then stated “it’s ok that you did” with a wink. I don’t recommend accusing a bride the morning of the wedding of lying, especially when the two bridesmaids who spent the night with her confirmed I never once used hairspray. Again I was asked why I hadn’t done a trial run. Having received a text from my fiancé letting me know he was still in pain, I stopped talking. My two best friends sat silently by my side as they knowingly understood all I needed was silent support. The hairdresser took it upon herself to note she could feel the nerves radiating from me and told me I needed to say something. I am so so grateful for my two friends who gently took over for me in explaining I just needed some time to breathe.

When the hair turned out close enough to what I was wanting, a simple twisted back low bun with a few loose strands, I asked if it would be possible for someone to pass me an eyeshadow brush as the Smokey eye was cut in a downward angle making my eyes look droopy. I was able to blend the eyeshadow out and lessen the severity of the contrast of the pink and purple against my skin tone.

At this point we had no more time, and I had to rush downstairs to get dressed. In the middle of my mom rushing me to grab my dress, trying to also grab my veil which had gotten caught in the hanger and answer an onslaught of questions from all directions, the Glow “pros” pulled me to the side frustratedly telling me they HAD to get a pic of me. I have never been so taken aback by such unprofessional behavior and was left heartbroken that the day that I had hoped to look my best, left me feeling hideous at best. By the time I had reached the cathedral 40 minutes later, the foundation they used had oxidized and left an orange undertone.

I would strongly recommend hiring services elsewhere.

    GLOW's reply:

“Alexandra, We are so sorry to hear that you were not 100% satisfied with your GLOW experience. In the 3 years of servicing over 500 brides we have never received a complaint or bad review like this, so we are taking it very seriously. At GLOW We pride ourselves in giving the best possible experience and to hear that yours wasn’t satisfactory is very disappointing. We have tried calling you to see what we could do and talk this through but couldn’t get through. We hope to get in contact with you so we can personally apologize to you. We know how important this day was for you and we know that no words can take back your unsatisfactory experience but we hope that our deepest apology is felt. Thank you for your time and we hope we have a chance to prove to you how much we value your business.”
