The venue looked nice, but the service was terrible.

We were excited to have found a venue that could do it all: catering, bar, ceremony, reception, etc., but unfortunately, what we got was poor service, an untimely setup and a loss of our guests due to them starving.


It doesn't feel good when your great grandma, aunts and uncles, walk up to you to say bye early at your wedding because they all need to go eat when you paid a fortune to avoid that from happening.

Below are the items we reached out to Wendi Hroncich about, months ago, just to be ghosted after our final payment was made.
Buffet:
•Food:
•We ran out of food with four tables left to eat. We went with a buffet over plated, to ensure that our guests had plenty to eat, but it turned out that no backups of anything were created. This resulted in 36 of our family members leaving around 7:15pm, rather than staying all the way through.
•Food was cold, just like we were worried about at the food tasting.
•Fry bar: It was brought out at the right time, but we had to hunt down Tiffany to get tongs to be able to serve it.
•Ice cream bar: Our impression from our previous meetings was that the ice cream bar was a self•serve ice cream station with toppings. It was to our disappointment to learn that we had literal ice cream bars, like what you could get at Costco.
•Service:
•Water refills and cleanup: I had several guests ask for more water as well as for their plates to be removed from the table. It took 45 minutes for them to get water as well as plates to be cleared after being asked. Each person that had asked, had to get up and find the servers.
•Champagne: Champagne was given out for toasts, except for the newlyweds.
•Cake: Cutting time was scheduled before the wedding day. They brought the cake out on time, but there were no forks or spoons, no plates, no knife, and no cake server. Our photographer had to go back to the kitchen and ask for those items which resulted in Tiffany coming out with the knife. He then had to go back again to ask for the plates, forks and cake server.
•Bread: Bread was brought out when we ran out of food. No one was informed. It took the officiant to ask if the bread was up for grabs after he walked by the room.
Ceremony:
•Our understanding was that we would have a cart with chauffeurs to bring people over who were not capable of walking, but we didn’t get that. My dad ended up being the chauffeur.
•Bride's ride: We were told, by Tiffany, someone would be taking the bride out to the ceremony area with her dad. Her dad had to go back inside to find a person to drive.
•Ceremony setup:
•Signs: There were no signs and no personnel to tell people where to go. I, the groom, had to tell everyone, who was deferred to the reception hall, where the ceremony was located.
•Chairs: Ceremony area was not set up until 3:15 pm. Our invites had stated 3:00pm.
Reception Hall:
•Projector: We were informed that the projector was not put out for the slideshow, so a family member had to search for a staff member. We were then told Tiffany would come in at 2 pm. No one was willing to help us get it, except for someone telling him what room he could find the projector in.
•Suites: The coffee creamers expired by about a year. Had this gone unnoticed, some of us could have gotten sick from this.

All our guests, my wife and I, all feel like we were robbed of what should have been a great once-in-a-life-time experience. Please, for your special experience, do not let this place steal from you what they stole from us.

Ah, COVID weddings. We were lucky enough to be able to have our ceremony and reception before the state shut them down. Wendi was amazing throughout the process, answering all of our questions to the best of her ability and in a timely manner. Things were changing daily and it was super stressful so having an experienced planner to coordinate the details was a lifesaver.

The venue itself is beautiful. The recent remodel is perfection, including the bridal suite and groom's lounge. The food and service was impeccable (confirmed by our guests), as was the bar service. Wendi was a great coordinator at both the rehearsal and the day-of, which is good because none of us knew what we were doing! You can tell the entire team has a lot of experience with weddings based on how smoothly everything went. No stress that day was due to the venue. :)

We recently had my daughter’s wedding on New Years Eve...and it was incredible! The whole night was magical! We had the ceremony and reception in their Lakeroom for 170 and the whole process was seamless! Wendi was amazing! So kind, accessible knowledgeable about creating the perfect wedding! We truly could have not asked for a better venue and staff to make this the best wedding ever! Highly, highly recommend Echo Falls Golf CC for your wedding! 💞

This was a beautiful wedding venue. They had the option for ceremony indoors or outdoors by the beautiful waterfall.. working with Wendi was amazing. She is very helpful and accommodating. Our wedding night went as smooth as possible.

The wedding for my son and daughter-in-law was wonderful, the prep the months before were made easy because Wendi the coordinator was so helpful with answering all our questions and giving us good suggestions. She also recommended some other people for all other needs for the wedding and reception. It is a wonderful spot if wedding outdoors too, some amazing spots for beautiful pictures. We recommend it highly and using Wendi to guide you through the whole process and all the way through the special day. Our families were so happy with food, drinks, staff and the whole day went off so smoothly.

Our wedding was perfect at this venue. The food was great, they were able to get us exactly what we wanted, dietary restrictions and all. We were able to get amazing wedding photos taken out on the golf course at sunset which was something we didn't think would happen. Lots of different photo areas, by the lake, waterfall and in a tunnel.

Thank you so much Tanioka's and Gabrielle for making our catering experience such a smooth process. Gabrielle is VERY prompt and responsive with emails and calls. Tanioka's is VERY professional and very reliable. The service was amazing. The food was delicious, especially the poke appetizers, garlic chicken, and Asian braised short ribs. Our guests were mainly from out of town and they LOVED the food/buffet style. They offer a free tasting which was so fun because you get to cut the long line wrapping around the building. The only thing I wish they had was real china/silverware, we had to rent those from a rental company because we didn't want to use the 'fancy' plastic plates they offer. The prices are pretty fair and VERY worth it. We also got our dessert from them (easier than hiring another vendor, and I heard the dessert was good but didnt get to try!) Otherwise, there is nothing bad to say! Thank you Taniokas for making our wedding day so special!!!

We just got married at Echo Falls and first off, the venue is beautiful and there are a ton of great photo spots. Overall though, our experience working with the staff at Echo Falls was challenging. The catering manager was very difficult and usually said ‘no’ to our requests until we pushed back. For example, they changed the pricing of food and alcohol after we were already under contract. They promised us a golf cart processional and then said “it depends on how many carts we have since Saturday is a busy day for golf” - I thought the people spending thousands of dollars for a wedding would get priority but we had to push back on that too. We also spoke with the GM who was helpful in fixing our issues but was very condescending to talk to. He made it seem like all of our issues were resolved (pricing for food/wine, golf cart issues, etc.) and while they were at that point, we had to push back on EVERYTHING and figure out the solutions for ourselves. I definitely wouldn’t say the customer service was top notch. That said, on the day of our wedding, the food was delish and we thankfully didn’t have any issues day-of. We chose to hire and awesome day-of coordinator (from Cake and Lace) and I think that was a great decision because again, the catering manager just wasn’t very friendly and accommodating. She was helpful on the day of our wedding but getting to that point was a serious struggle. To any couples considering this venue for their wedding, I would just caution you to get everything in writing and ensure the quotes you’re given won’t change before your wedding day. I plan events (large and small) as part of my job and I had never had a vendor change pricing or services after we were under contract. It certainly caught us off guard (and I still think it’s extremely unprofessional) so wanted to share our lessons learned.

I planned my wedding 17 months ahead of time. As soon as we are engaged, I went online looking for venue. I did not want a metropolitan location that is costly for the guests to stay and parking will be an issue. The idea of a country club sound very desirable. I began looking for a golf club with beautiful view. The Echo Falls golf club website show a stunning view with the green lawn and a view of water. It was the place I want to get marry. As soon as we set our eyes on this venue, I contacted the sales office on wedding wire. Kristen was previous manager we deal with. She gave us all the detail we need. The scenic view of the golf club was exactly like the picture, it was out of the world. The ballroom could seat 200 people with a fireplace on one side of the wall and multiple high ceiling glass windows. Upon discussing the rental and food menu, we realized the cost was rather affordable with the amenity included for the bride and groom. We waited many months before doing the food tasting and final preparation around 5 weeks before with wedding. By then, we have a new manager Wendi took over Kristen's job. Wendi is a sweet lady. She understood each and everything that the wedding couple could face and she made very practical suggestion. She is the kind of lady that will roll up her sleeve and move the chairs for you. We felt extremely fortunate that she was there to coordinate our needs. In the end, the Big Day turned out to be perfect. We had over 120 guests attended our wedding and everyone admired the view and enjoyed the party.

I am so happy with my experience with Echo Falls! The wedding coordinator, Wendi, is amazing and made the whole process so smooth. I visited the venue many times and even had to push back my wedding date after I had already booked, but they were super accommodating. The chef is wonderful too and I was able to customize my menu to be exactly what I wanted and to fit my budget. Day-of was amazing, the staff was all so great I truly felt like a princess!

All around an amazing experience! Lauren was wonderful in the planning process--so clear and reliable with her email/phone communication. When we got to Hawaii we did our tasting with Gabrielle--the experience exceeded my expectations! Plus she had some really helpful suggestions for our menu.
Tanioka's is top-notch in both service and food!! A word of advice--order poke-appetizers and triple what you think you need! We ordered their 2 large poke platters apps for 60 guests (and had some non-fish apps for the picky eaters). Since most of our guests were from the mainland and not 'adventurous' eaters, we thought we would be drowning in poke and eating it all the next day. Not the case at all. It was gone 15 minutes into cocktail hour! Everyone raved about it and was wanting more (including us!) and we heard so many comments that it was the best poke that they had had since they got to Hawaii.
For dinner, everything was delicious but the GARLIC CHICKEN is no joke! Tanioka's food was such a hit with all of our guests and we had people telling us that it was the best wedding food they'd ever had...with the chicken and poke in particular being the best food they'd ever had period!
We were shocked by how above and beyond the servers went...the groom even said "oh, I didn't know that service was included in our contract?" and their response was pretty much that they were doing it out of the goodness of their hearts! They were a huge help to us. The food was so amazing that that alone was going to earn them 5 stars, but the service really went above and beyond.
The catering is such a big portion of a wedding budget--go with Tanioka's! You won't be disappointed, they are worth every penny, and they made quite the impression on our guests--plus I really liked that we were giving that money to a family-run business.

We contacted Tanioka's based on the recommendation of our wedding coordinator and our venue. They were responsive, friendly, and helpful throughout the entire process, starting from our very first consultation and tasting. They ultimately provided appetizers, dinner, and dessert for out approximately 120 guests, as well as bartending and waiting services. We were able to purchase our own soft drinks and alcohol from Costco and Tanioka's provided bartenders to help us serve. The food was amazing and we got so many compliments from our guests! We really appreciated how they helped us plan for our guests with special dietary needs and allergies. And their prices our excellent; we felt we got such a great value. Highly recommend!

Make sure you get all of the costs upfront

Amazing! There was slight miscommunication at the start but everything worked out well. The coordinator, Krista, was perfect! She was so good at keeping the pressure off of the bride and groom at the rehearsal and wedding. She answered my many questions, gave suggestions when needed, was never pushy, and overall was incredibly supportive.

I loved this venue. For me, my wedding was Hawaiian themed for all my family visiting from out of town. They were easy to work with for a menu and affordable. The food was delicious and fresh. We had the Mochiko chicken, Luau pork and much more. All the food was a hit. It had variety so a guest could have options to choose from. Every guest raved about the food and said it was amazing. They served the food buffet style. They were polite and brought my groom and I a plate. The food was delicious. I highly recommend this vendor.

The coordinator was easy to work with and anything that we needed to change last minute was taken care of.

My husband and I had a beautiful Wedding at Echo Falls, everything went without a hitch the day of and it was a wonderful day. The planning however was less than pleasant. Krista who is the catering manager at the venue was the primary person we talked to and planned with and we were concerned that our day would not go through. We scheduled a food tasting with her and an hour before the scheduled time she canceled on us by email. The BEO she wrote up consistently had mistakes including the wrong counts for guests and the wrong food. The week before the wedding after our final meeting she sent a final BEO that was incorrect on guest counts after we had confirmed the meals counts. After all the planning we had done together we found out the night before the wedding at the rehearsal dinner that Krista would not be present for the wedding because she had her own side business that she would be doing instead.
The bartender at the wedding was also unprofessional, visibly stressed out and unprepared. He yelled at our photographer, and had multiple unpleasant altercations with guests including the mother of the groom.

Echo Falls is a beautiful venue, the grounds are well kept. We were able to drive around the grounds in a golf cart to take pictures and the bridal suite was awesome to escape to and get ready! The staff including Meagan and Brooke were amazing the day of our wedding, we felt well taken care of by them and the servers. And we are endlessly grateful for having a beautiful night, but the 9 months leading up to the wedding, the planning with Krista did not leave us confident that we would have a perfect day.

Overall we had a great experience. Krista, the wedding coordinator, was extremely responsive and made everything run smooth. The price was also very reasonable compared to some other places we looked at. The only issue we had was the champagne wasn't ready for the toast, but otherwise there were no issues. We had a contingency plan on place to move the wedding indoor, but, thankfully the weather was great so we didn't need to. Things ran smoothly and were for the most part stress free.

Tanioka's was amazing to work with! We didn't know what to expect and had eaten a light breakfast before arriving. We were brought a good portion of samples to use (at least 2 plate lunches worth) and allowed us to take our time and eat with us. We fell in love with the mochiko chicken. Everyone enjoyed the food so much that we had very little to almost no leftovers! Logan and I weren't able to sit down and eat often so we asked the attendants to make us a plate lunch when they boxed up everything so that we could enjoy it later. The attendants were personal and courteous as well. The team at Tanioka's were amazing and I would highly recommend them for any event!

Krista and everyone at echo falls were amazing! We couldn't have asked for anothing more than we got at echo falls. The food was amazing and everything was so pretty there. The staff was there and prepared for little wedding day emergencys also. We had the best day

Our wedding was a destination wedding at Paradise Cove. We flew to Hawaii to scout out vendors. Tanioka's came highly recommended from friends that live in Hawaii. We stopped in and was shocked to see how packed their storefront location was we ordered some food and instantly knew this was the place we wanted. We contacted Lauren who helped us prepare our menu or coordinate what was needed for our special day. We went with the Prime Rib, the Kalua Pig and Cabbage and my favorite the Garlic Chicken! All of our 78 guests flew in from the mainland so I wasn't sure how the would react to the local style food but they all loved it. It was buffet style and we had tons of food. The service was second to none.

We hired Tanioka’s to cater our wedding, and we could not have been happier. First, Tanioka’s provides exceptional customer service. Justin and his father are incredibly kind, and you can tell that they believe in the quality of their food and, more importantly, they want their customers to be happy. Lauren, who helped us with our order, was also so nice, patient, and helpful. My husband and I went back and forth on what we wanted, and Lauren continued to answer our questions and attempt to accommodate our requests.
Second, the food is amazing. Most of our guests were from the mainland, so we wanted to have a menu that showcased local food. We choose the menu that included short ribs, garlic chicken, furikake fish, and tofu salad. We also ordered appetizers that included sushi rice with spicy ahi, garlic soybeans, and caprese skewers. We were worried that although we love this type of food, it may not appeal to our mainland guests. But our mainland guests loved it all! Our guests could not stop talking about the food, and our only regret is that we didn’t have time during the wedding to finish our plates. To this day, my husband keeps telling me that we need to go back to Tanioka’s to order all of the foods that we weren’t able to eat—especially the garlic chicken. We could not have asked for a better catering experience than Tanioka’s. There is a reason why every time we went to their storefront location, there was a line to the door.

The planning process was challenging, only because we had booked the venue a year early and the venue had changed coordinators a month before our wedding date. We had a lot of hiccups with the previous coordinator- i.e had our wedding date recorded wrong, mix up with tasting and who would be there, mix up with some food items, set up time for day of event, etc. These were all minor mishaps, but I didn’t think any of these mishaps should have happened. The coordinator that was actually there for our Wedding, Krista, was awesome. We meet her a couple weeks before the wedding and she was really on top of things despite all the back and forth emails, etc I had with the previous coordinator. I really appreciated the little details that went into making our wedding day go as smoothly as planned.

The cons I have are for the “Day of” the wedding. We had asked if we can use a Cedar Arch for our ceremony (mainly to create a focal point at the aisle because the room was very opened, I wanted some sort of structural detail) – and it was not there. This was made note from the time we booked and re-laid at our Rehearsal (night before our wedding). I was told I had to print out the Table Numbers because there would be Holders for them. I didn’t mind doing that, but then there were huge Number Blocks that were placed on the tables instead. It was fine, but I wish that was told to me before I wasted paper and ink. And lastly, we had made all the tables seat 10 guests – there was assigned seating and seating chart displaying this. A list and chart was made and given to the coordinator. Not sure where the miscommunication was, but the tables ending up only being seats of 8, which made a lot of guests confused and seated in different areas. Thankfully I have an amazing husband and bridal party who caught sight of this before I did because they handled all the stress and last minute changes.

Overall, beautiful site. Wonderful staff.

Tanioka's did our catering for our wedding and they were so awesome. My guests gave me comments after the wedding at how nice the officiants were and how good the food was. They were very well organized, professional, friendly and reliable. I would hire them again. The food was amazing and so many choices to choose from when planning for an event. We had to change the amount of people were coming to the wedding 4 days before the event and they had no problem with changing the quote and quantity.
