    Weddings by Palladium

OMG! Having a destination wedding can be very challenging but Chrisan Hunter is the BEST wedding coordinator ever! She worked so hard to make all my dreams come true. She and my local wedding planner coordinated with the vendors to create a Total Wedding Experience for my guest. We traveled to Jamaica with 130 guest who I received NOT one complaint from the entire week. They were greeting with a Welcome Party at Sunset Cove Beach with music, food, drinks, and the Zurielamakas Fire Dancers to start the weekend off proper. My wedding day was like a fairy tale. The bridal suite was very accommodating to my 10 bridesmaids, 2 flower girls, and myself. The ladies at the spa did my hair and makeup and I was very pleased by their services. The ceremony was pure perfection and the reception was like the Grand Finale to a movie. We served Steak and Lobster that was impeccable to the taste buds...my guest are still talking about that! The entertainment was popping, decor by Tai Flora hit the bulls eye, and the cold sparks, fog machine, and lighting set the mood by Irie Jamz. I highly recommend having your wedding here at Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton. Ask for Chrisan, she will take good care of you!

    Grand Palladium Jamaica/Twanya

I had Twanya as my wedding coordinator at the Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton. She was very responsive to my questions and made our wedding day a breeze. I felt very relaxed and confident before arriving to Jamaica. After our meeting with her to go over our wedding day and cocktail hour I had no doubt that everything would be perfect. Our wedding day went smoothly and we had an amazing day.

I just had my wedding week at the Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton January 10-16, 2018. Our wedding included about 55 guest with 6 bridesmaids and 7 groomsmen and it was absolutely wonderful. The planning was a little slow to start when I reached out to the wedding staff about a year in advanced- I am a total planner and wanted everything done immediately. They were taking about a week to respond and I got a little annoyed at that. After doing some research and reading reviews I found this is just the way they handle it. They pump out several weddings a week and don’t need a year to plan it. About a month away from the date, my wedding planner, was responding the same day. We were welcomed VIP with our own private table and welcome drink where our planner explained everything. We scheduled a walkthrough and a wedding overview the day before the wedding. We upgraded to the honeymoon suit because the upgrade included with our package was just a bigger suite
Our rehearsal dinner was at the Poseidon for about 30 people. The dinner was good for resort food and the service was excellent.
The wedding - The flowers were amazing and everything I wanted but I paid for all the upgraded flowers, the Dj was incredible and kept the party going, the wedding planner (Thorna) really took care of everything. I chose to go with another photographer because they could not tell me who was going to be the photographer at my wedding and therefor could not show me their work. I was not comfortable with them just sending anyone so I went with Stacey Clarke and she was fantastic. I brought a few of my own decorations and they set them up perfectly. I chose the Bliss and Bloom packages which covered about 20 people, so be aware they will charge you for every single thing over 20 people. It was $20 per person at the ceremony, chairs, napkins everything! If you go into it knowing this is island time and just stay relaxed you will have a wonderful experience.

The wedding office at this venue is still a young group and I think they need more experience. They don't offer information freely about the event and don't anticipate what kind of information brides need when planning a wedding from afar. Make SURE you ask lots of detailed questions since they don't volunteer information otherwise.
On that note, the location was absolutely GORGEOUS and they did a great job making the wedding beautiful.

I will say this first, I loved my wedding and wouldn't have changed it for the world. I loved the Grand Palladium and for a modest budget--- you get what you pay for. With that said, I had a small wedding of only 22 people total. The staff was just ok. They did their job and that was about it. Communication can be poor too. With that said, I would still suggest this venue and resort if you aren't expecting a 5 Star. It is a gorgeous venue and great staff during the event. The coordinators just need alot of encouragement and staying on top of.

    Worst wedding weekend ever!

I'm writing to share my horrible experience at the Grand Palladium Jamaica Resort and Spa. My review would have gone otherwise but I don't think it should.  I have been in constant contact with my wedding coordinator Jovaine Spence for over a year and a half. The working relationship has been hot and cold but mostly pleasant over the last year. When submitting all of my documents for the wedding, I have listed and told Jovaine on many occasions, my mother has medical issues and difficulties walking up and down stairs. When asked about any specific requirements or special accommodations, one of my few request was the mother of the bride needs to be on a bottom floor and hopefully near me, the bride. I have mentioned this specific request in the requested documents, and verbally at least twice before arriving in Jamaica.

When I first arrived at the resort,  our rooms were not ready and upon waiting for a room,  we were greeted by the wedding department that offer to hold my wedding dress until we got a room.  In my wedding bag,  I had 2 dresses.  1 for the 1st half of the day and 1 dress for the 2nd half.  However, the 2nd half of the dress needed alterations before the wedding.  When I went to retrieve the dress,  Jovaine informed me,  he sent the dress off to be steamed. I told him I needed the 2nd dress to make alterations to it, however, he didn't give me the dress back until 3 days later, and 1 day before the wedding and I never got the chance to make alterations to the dress and wear it.  So I bought an $800 dress and didn't get to wear it.
    Rehearsal Dinner

My mother was scheduled to arrive in the afternoon on July 23, 2021. When she arrived at the resort, the only room they had available for her was a 3rd floor suite. She mentioned to front desk, that she requested a bottom floor room due to her Handicap and was told a room would be available in the morning. The following morning (7/24) I  followed up with the front desk to see if the room was ready.  I was told the room was being clean and to come back in a hour. I waited 2 hours and came back. Then I was told the room was not yet ready yet, they were disinfecting it and that takes time.  I came back for the 3rd time at 3pm that afternoon and I was greeted by a male supervisor who was extremely rude to me and nonchalant of my mother's current situation. I asked him to give me a time when the room would be ready and he told me he couldn't do it.  At this point,  I demanded to speak to a supervisor and not the one I was already speaking too until someone from JTL heard me and decided to help. We eventually got a room around 5pm. This experience is one that should never happen to anyone let alone a bride and a mother of the bride.

We asked for a wheel chair for my mother since she was on the third floor and it took almost 2 days to receive one. We had to go and take the beach chair and use until the resort was finally able to find a wheel chair.

Jovaine recommended we have the wedding rehearsal at the El Dorando Steakhouse because it can accommodate up to 20 guest. He insisted on a fixed menu to accommodate the guest and we couldn't stray from the fixed menu. We were only allowed to have 1 appetetizer, 1 soup, 2 entre, and 2 dessert options. We provided everything request to Jovaine for this rehearsal dinner and it was confirmed prior to our arrival that dinner was at 6pm sharp. Upon arrival at the Steakhouse, no table setting was set up. The host at entrance was unaware of any schedule dinner with a fixed menu. After they set us up an table for 20, we noticed we were sitting outside on the patio. It was so hot and uncomfortable for everyone.  We were unaware prior to our reservation that we would be sitting in a unconditoned patio area because if we would have known so, we would have requested to move inside. Later I found out, there was room for us as well inside. The chef was unaware of our orders that was sent in a week sprior. We did not get our requested appetizer (buffalo wings), nor was the requested soup available (Jamaica  soup). Instead, we didnt receive any appetizer  at all, the soup was French onion which most people didn't eat.. The chef, eventually found our orders and the food was prepared. However, the 2 hours we had allocated for the rehearsal dinner was spent waiting for food. Lastly, the 2 dessert we selected for each guest was not available, and the guest had to select something totally different from the only options they received. Jovaine did not appear until later that night and when I asked him about the actually rehearsal for the wedding, he insisted that "he got us" and not to worry, it will go smooth. I was looking for some type of instructions to the bridal party that was there. We were looking for a brief description of what to expect for tomorrow, however we did not receive an of this.

I paid to have the bridal suite in preparation for the wedding and for bridal party and myself. We ordered room service which took several hours to come, and when they came they only provided 1/2 the order and did not even bring coffee (which was requested and a vital part since we would be up for hours) or even tea.

Also, we did not see nor hear from Jovaine until the wedding was already past the start time.

I provided a bunch of decorations and decor to be provided at the reception and friend who has been observing how the weekend was going decided to follow-up with Jovaine to make sure the reception goes smoothly.  My friend who went to follow-up with Jovaine after the wedding told me when she arrived at the reception,  nothing was setup. When she asked him about the setup,  he replied he was going to lunch and he didn't eat.  He made my friend run the entire reception for my wedding and he was rarely to be found. He continuously disappeared throughout the night and was not around to help us transition to the next part of the reception.  No one in the bridal party knew where to stand,  where they were walking to when they enter the reception. It's was embarrassing.

Jovaine came to me and said we will be cutting the cake next and he was going to step out for a few however, when it was time to cut the cake, Noone knew what to do next. The photographer and videographer, set us up to take pictures of Cutting the cake a few guest stood up and came to see us cut the cake but sat down shortly because they were giving no direction and after the photographer looked around for few. He began to direct us on what to do next. It was embarrassing to say they least at the lack of guidance and preparation that was put into direction of order of wedding and what to do next.

The DJ was not playing any of our requested songs during the recession for the 1st 2 hours. When I spoke to him about the list of songs and artists to play, he was unaware of the list and went to retrieve it. Jovaine did not provide him this list as we were told he would.  Afterwards he begin to play more of the songs we were looking for.
