We couldn’t have imagined getting married anywhere else. All of our guests at the house for the week and at the wedding were beyond amazed by the house. Stephanie’s attentiveness was more than I could have expected. She checked in daily and had everything attended to in a timely matter. Becca Sent on 09/30/2018We fell in love with the Grande Ritz Palm several years before our wedding. I became obsessed with looking up Instagram pictures and videos of weddings there as we would plan our wedding over a three year engagement. We toured the place twice and were so appreciative of meeting Stephanie Lane! She was incredibly sweet and always willing to help with whatever questions we had! The house made for the absolute best wedding!! It was incredibly sweaty and hot the day of but it was everything we dreamed of. Our guests continually raved about how beautiful it was and that it was the best wedding they had been to! We ended the night jumping in the pool and some of our guests did prior to that. We are so incredibly happy we got to have the wedding of our dreams at the Grande Ritz!! Our family and friends did notice some odds and ends throughout the week that were a little aged or beat up but the actual wedding and amazing fun had outside at the pool every day and night totally outshined. Thank you so much for sharing your home with us for our perfect wedding!!!

Chris Sent on 06/20/2018this venue was like heaven. it totally made my romantic wedding a reality. the place is magnificent! it was great to be able to have everything here, the rehearsal dinner the wedding and reception and the day after brunch. not to mention we then were able to stay the week!! it was like winning the lottery! everything you could think of was there and the movie theater was awesome. just total luxury.Grande Ritz Palm's reply:

Shannon Sent on 10/05/2017We got married here on 9/23/17 and are still on cloud nine. We decided 3 years ago after we got engaged that we wanted to get married at the Grande Ritz Palm, and i'm so glad that we decided to do it. It was by far the most beautiful venue with the most amazing sunset views. We are still getting so many compliments on how beautiful the venue was and how perfect it was to have the ceremony and reception all in the same place. So many people have told us that this was the most beautiful and awesome wedding they have been too. Stephanie has been so wonderful to work with and answers all questions happily and quickly! We felt like royalty staying there the rest of the week with our closest family and friends, it was a wedding that turned into a vacation that made memories we will never forget. We were so sad to leave, but plan on returning in the future! Thank you for opening up your wonderful house for our special day, we are so blessed.

Alyssa Sent on 07/17/2018Grande Ritz Palm was like living a fairy tale. The grounds were inpectably kept. The house was ‘movie star status’ living. We were married on the beach however needed to move the reception inside due to rain. Everyone still had the best time. All of our guests raved over the littlest details. The fact we were able to keep the festivities going the rest of the week was the best! The time spent and memories made with our families and closest friends will last a lifetime. Not to mention, the Lane Family is the sweetest and so enjoyable to work with. They made sure everything was perfect at check-in and throughout the week. We can’t wait to go back for our 10 year anniversary!

Once upon a time I was able to have my dream wedding on the Outer Banks of NC at a great house! That house was the Grande Ritz Palm! From the time we checked in, to our Saturday wedding, to the sad Friday that we had to leave we were in heaven. My immediate family and my husbands immediate family stayed in this house and it worked perfectly for us....even our grandparents were in awe! It had everything we needed and made our wedding day/wedding week one that we (and our guests) will NEVER forget! My favorite person to work with at the Grande Ritz was Stephanie! She answered EVERY questions, EVERY email happily and quickly!! She is such a kind soul and so fun!!! My favorite part of the entire week was watching everyone pull up to the house and wedding and watch their jaws drop!! I loved it, they loved it!! Soooo many people told me that our wedding was one of the best they had every been to....YES!!!!!!!! All my hard work paid off....now ot pay off the wedding lol!!!Grande Ritz Palm's reply:

User1351582 Sent on 09/27/2013This venue will leave your guests in awe. Hands down, the most beautiful venue in the Outer Banks for a wedding. Miguel, the keeper, was one of the greatest people we met over the week and he ensured, at all times, that our venue was up to standards. We had 70 people at our wedding and the venue brought many to tears just because its finishes, beauty and accommodating feel. This venue is by far the best bag for the buck. We ended up having the wedding party stay in the house for the week and had a week of a lifetime because of it. Every setting in that house is beautiful. The amenities go far and beyond. It was very difficult to leave this place at the end of the week. Even in the rare occasion of a problem, the owner and Miguel immediately were on it, fixed it and ensured everyone was satisfied. You cannot beat the layout, the accommodating feel and the venue overall. -

We found Grande Ritz Palm in June 2019 through some internet searches while researching event homes/venues for our May 2021 wedding. I quickly got connected with Stephanie Lane and she was an amazing resource for me. I toured the home in July 2019 and was sold! The all-inclusive pricing and the ability to have the ceremony and reception in one venue were huge for us. Stephanie and I remained in contact for the next two years, and she was always so helpful whenever I had questions along the way. Our week-long stay will be remembered by our friends and family for the rest of our lives. The house is truly spectacular and amazed everyone, including our wedding guests. We had some very minor hiccups during the stay- the pool heating wasn’t working, issues with the speakers/tech throughout the house and pool area, and minor décor flaws (old comforters and pillows come to mind). However, the house manager, Joseph, was extremely kind and responsive throughout our stay and was super helpful with these issues. Honestly, all the great things the house has to offer completely trumped the minor issues and we 100% would recommend the Grande Ritz Palm to everyone. The landscaping was truly impeccable and made our stay luxurious and made the wedding photos incredible! We are planning to return in the future! Thank you Lane family! -

Alissa Sent on 11/10/2014We had such an amazing wedding at The Grande Ritz Palm, everything was just as promised and the venue is an amazing setting. We really enjoyed meeting the Lane's in a visit in the spring and their onsite team was very accommodating for our visit too. Only area of opportunity is the wifi did not work the entire time we were there which was slightly annoying when we needed to take care of a few last minute details but otherwise we were very thrilled with the whole experience! -
User2216255 Sent on 07/08/2015The staff was great in person and was accommodating but the venue itself seems to be not very well maintained over-all. This could be due to the fact that it is for sale but there were a lot of details that were not attended to. The chairs that were set up had to be cleaned when my mother went out and noticed that there was black stuff all over them, The balcony and gazebo were full of spiderwebs that had not been swept and almost all the palm trees were dead. I understand that it was a cold winter but it was the only house on the block that was brown. My aunt even said drove down the street she spotted it right away because it stuck out so much, and not in a good way. The house itself looks great and the guests were all very impressed but in only staying there one night most of the stuff is just for show. The room my bridesmaids and I stayed in had a shower with tons of shower heads in the wall but only the normal overhead on worked which others said the same about their rooms and the pool was falling apart. All the vendors we talked to were very excited when we said that the wedding was here but it has clearly not been maintained. Everything turned out great but just know that you will need people to clean before the wedding and do not expect luxury despite what it looks like. Also come with toilet paper, paper towels and soap because it is either not provided or not enough is. Maybe it is and we just couldn't find it.
Our wedding did turn out great but it was thanks to my family and friends who were so helpful and the other vendors who saw that we needed help. Again the people were wonderful, just the venue itself was not what we thought it would be like and certain things that were expected were not present.Grande Ritz Palm's reply:
I am sorry to hear such negativity about our wedding venue. We have tried to maintain this home as best as possible, with high standards in mind. We have over 20 people(including the owners) onsite each Friday to make sure the home is well maintained. Between our personal crew, cleaners, int. & ext. maintenance, pool , landscapers, electronics crews etc., we are disappointed to hear these comments about our home. The home is not listed for sale on MLS ,so this does not mean we maintain more or less. This has nothing to do with your comment above. The palm trees had a tough winter, and I KNOW we were not the ONLY property that got hit with freezing weather. Unfortunately, this is an act of mother nature and there was nothing we could do. However, we replaced a few palm trees out front(that were dead), but all others were living. As of this point, the weather has warmed up and the green is starting to come back on the trees that had brown frowns, so I am very sorry you had to see this at our home. As you are aware, we have a 24 hour on call maintenance service(Miguel and Owners) that is provided by our home. The showers should have been reported during your time of stay. Our cleaners use the shower heads to clean the showers weekly, and there have been no issues. A few tile pieces on the back corner of the negative edge pool have fallen off, but the pool has been fully functional. In order to put the pieces back on, the pool will have to be drained down a bit and the tile will have to "cure" for 3 days, before it can be refilled with water. This would cause the pool to be non-functional. We choose to wait, as we want our guests to be happy. Thank you for letting us know about the chairs being dirty. We will address this with our crew, as this is part of their weekly tasks. Lastly, there is initial toilet paper and paper towels provided by our rental management company. We sincerely hope you had a wonderful wedding and stay, outside of these issues. Stephanie -

Janet Sent on 06/11/2019Our Wedding was beautiful - but be mindful!
I'll say this first - we had a unique, amazingly fun, and beautiful wedding. I won't take away the fact that without this property, there are aspects that wouldn't have been as memorable. The views are beautiful, and most of your guests would never be at another wedding like it. I do have a few notes that are REALLY important for people to be mindful of, and strict on, if pursuing this property as your venue.
1. This venue has septic issues. See the review from 9/23/18 where the system FLOODED on a bride. There is a sign on every toilet to report if there are issues, if water is running, etc. (not a very comforting thing to see!). We ended up having toilet issues that we reported the MORNING OF OUR WEDDING. The septic truck had to come, but they didn't arrive until 4:00PM, as we had a trolley full of guests being dropped off - so there was a giant poop truck in the driveway while everyone arrived. Thank god it was able to be rectified at the start of our event (and that we have an amazing sense of humor about it), but it doesn't change the fact that the system should have been cleared on the Friday before our arrival to avoid that, especially since they knew we would have 120 people onsite for the biggest event of our lives that Sunday. Brindley Beach provided no compensation and little care to the fact that this was a huge issue for us.
2. There were vendors that came through a few different times without notice to us - the guys came early morning the day after our wedding to remove chairs and put away tables, and put out lounge furniture - fine, but wish we had known. There was what may have been a pool person, and a landscape person, and one vendor ended up inside on the lower level checking something. We were never made aware of these visits, and it was disturbing to us and our guests. We are SO cool with the concept of the pool being maintained during a week stay at a property, but just want to know about it so we can secure belongings.
3. You'll see this in other reviews, but should know, that this luxury property won't provide you with toilet paper, soap, paper towels, etc. Be mindful of that.
There are other little things I could go on and on about - the house is aging a bit, they have little signs everywhereee about everything, but overall, it was a super unique and neat experience and a beautiful location for our wedding. Just take extra steps and caution if you plan to book here.Grande Ritz Palm's reply:

So sorry to hear your experience wasn't quite as you hoped. I am happy to hear some of the nice comments about the property it self and the wedding was nice. However, I would like to address some of the issues that have been "reviewed".
1. Septic had been cleared out prior to your arrival as a precaution. Honestly, there wasn't much to clear, as tanks have been very low since our first arrival. We still decided to call them out before your arrival. However, Katie(your sister) reported to me at 2:28 that AFTERNOON of the wedding about toilets not flushing. As you have stated they got there by 4:00 (about an hour and a half upon the time it was brought to my attention.) This is a very quick time for someone to come out, especially with their busy route on the weekend. There was no septic in the home.. it was simply described as some toilets were not flushing, so that is who we called to address the issue. Unfortunately, with the time frame I was given, that was the outcome.
2. We set up on the Friday check in day and always break down Monday mornings. I am not sure where that information was missed, but that is our policy. I describe this, during every check in as well. We also, contacted you about a few vendors that were coming during your stay and it was acknowledged that you were aware. (There was one company that did decide to go in, unannounced and we have fully brought that to their attention, this can not happen ever again. I was not informed or did not schedule them to do so.) Some of our maintenance vendors, are on their own schedules and routes, such as pool guys, landscapers etc. We have to keep the property maintained as best as possible. I am sorry you were unaware of our maintenance and if you ever felt uncomfortable about it, you had my number and could have let me know. I would have tried to address differently, as best as possible. Yet, I was not informed.
3. No where in our advertising does it state we provide toilet paper, soap or paper towels. One initial set is sat out(no soap), but it is up to the guests to provide for the remaining of their stay.
Anyway, we truly appreciate you choosing our home for your venue and hope you have a happily ever after. -

Stephanie was great to work with (very responsive and flexible with any questions we had leading up to the wedding when a hurricane threatened our plans) and the house was seemingly in great shape, even after a heavy wedding season. Unfortunately, however, we had a terrible experience during our wedding a few months ago.
The septic system failed and overflowed during our reception on the third day of our stay, rendering toilets unusable for our 130 guests and seeping septic waste through the entire ground floor and in all of the ground bedrooms. Our wedding planners called the emergency number, and a plumber and a cleaning crew were immediately sent to the house the following day (informing us that this was not the first time this happened at the Grande Ritz.) Despite this, the issue continued to worsen and due to the overwhelming stench and health/sanitary concerns, we notified Stephanie and Brindley Beach that all guests staying would need to evacuate the house (unfortunately forfeiting the remainder of our honeymoon.)
When we tried to see what reparations, if any, there were for the unused remaining days of our stay, the property management company was rude and ultimately took the damages for carpet replacement out of our security deposit and sent us intimidating and bizarre accusations.
The septic system failure was tragic, but the treatment we received in the aftermath of a major issue was appalling. I can now no longer in good conscious recommend this venue, or anything under its property management.
