  Love Katye!

  Katye has done my hair for a few weddings now (I was a bridesmaid in one, and the other was my wedding) and she was great! She’s punctual and really quick also, which is nice when you’re stressed about being ready by a certain time. She also took the time to create a timeline for us, which was extremely helpful! Hoping to have her do my makeup next :)

  Amazing experience!

  Katye did an amazing job at our wedding! Starting with the hair/makeup trial she was flexible to work with my schedule, she really listened to my feedback, and was willing to try several different looks until we found exactly what I liked. On the day of the wedding we had a very early start and she was there and ready to go with enough energy to power through hair and makeup for six people. Everyone looked beautiful in person and in the photos! And by the end of the night my hair and makeup were still in tact! Katye was reccommended to us by our venue and I feel lucky that she was available for our wedding!

  Top notch professional

  Katye has a very old school way about her and yet she’s also very trendy and up to date in her knowledge of fashion. A true professional she breezed thru any crisis we may have encountered and maintained a very calming poise in handling every request we had. I highly recommend this vendor.

  Absolutely fantastic and professional!

  Katye is extremely professional, accommodating and a pleasure to work with. In the midst of planning the wedding for my brother, I had completely forgotten about booking a makeup and hair artist/ stylist for the family. When I contacted Katye and others, Katye was one of the first few who returned my call, understood my requirements, looked up her availability and reserved our family for an early morning wedding. She responded to all of the followup questions my family and I had prior to the wedding and we never felt rushed with any of the last minute questions/ requests that came up. I didn't have this experience with other notable artists I contacted in the Bay area. Thank you so much to Katye for the looks she gave me and my family. We all looked extremely beautiful, the makeup and hair held up well all day (from 3AM to 11PM with no touchup and two outfit changes) and we got lots of praises. I can't thank Katye enough for working and cooperating with us through a very busy day, keeping our nerves calm and allowing us to have a wonderful wedding day. I highly recommend Katye and would sign her up for all of the future important functions in my family.

  Katye and team recently did hair and makeup for my bridal party, my mom and me. I had reached out to quite a few different HMUA, and Katye was one of the most reasonably priced and was always quick to respond and answer questions.

  Katye was great from the get go! I was referred to Katye through a friend, and am so glad I was. I did a quick intro call with Katye so we could discuss services -- then scheduled a trial a few months later. Katye was very receptive to my requests and did a fantastic job at the trial, so I went into my wedding day feeling super confident. I felt the makeup on my wedding day was even better than the trial! Katye does amazing work...and does it quickly! She brought Sylvia to assist her on my wedding day. They did hair and makeup for 6 bridesmaids, MOB, MOG, and me (the bride!). Both Katye and Sylvia made sure each person was comfortable and happy with their hair and makeup. I strongly recommend!

  Wonderful and Fast makeup Artist!

  Katye and her team were amazing to work with. I absolutely have not felt as beautiful in my entire life as I did when she did my hair and makeup for my wedding day! She makes sure to match your vision to a T. It was also insanely hot on my wedding day, but my makeup stayed on all night and even the next day! She is so talented and wonderful to work with! I cannot thank you enough Katye!!

  From our very first email, all the way through the last spritz of hair spray, Katye is a dream to work with. She is hands down the epitome of professional and a master at her craft. Not only did she nail the look for me, all of my bridesmaids, and my moms on my special day, but she did so with a calm poise that was exactly what a bride needs on her wedding day.

Katye is the sweetest and is so easy to connect with. Her communication and booking process is a breeze; she kept me at ease the whole time! Not only was the trial super fun, but she really works with you to create your day of hair and makeup vision. She is incredibly fast! She stays on schedule, even finished ahead of schedule for us with was amazing because then I didn’t feel rushed at all getting to my wedding venue. She totally alleviated stress by staying on schedule, and getting everyone's hair and makeup done exactly as they wanted. Throughout the process, I had Katye do my hair and makeup for my engagement shoot, and the trial for my wedding and on both occasions she listened to exactly what I wanted.   Katye was fantastic. During the trial I was nervous about my hair and makeup but she was very reassuring and listened to all of my feedback. On wedding day she was very relaxed and timed the day perfectly. I loved my hair and makeup and it held beautifully all night long. I hired Katye off her wonderful reviews and I would recommend her to anyone.

  Katye Rose is truly a goodness of hair and makeup. When it came down to the wedding, I had every detail planned to the tee. The one thing I was most apprehensive about was finding a hairstylist competent enough to harness my long (and somewhat-frizzy) hair into a ‘do that would last a 12-hour day and withstand the fog and mist of San Francisco. To my greatest fortune, I stumbled across Katye Rose on The Knot. From Day 1, she was an absolute joy to work with. Katye, with the expertise of a true professional, styled my hair into the most elegant, classic, and gorgeous updo. I was floored! Not only did it elicit rave reviews from the wedding guests, it also held up remarkably well through an entire day of pictures, lawn games, and dancing in the elements of San Francisco. With regard to the makeup, Katye listened very closely to what I wanted, and during the trial she was extremely amenable to feedback. From the smoky-brown eyes and perfectly applied false eyelashes to the final touch of lipstick, the look was more beautiful than I’d ever imagined, and I felt like a princess the entire day. Katye’s incredible talent, in addition to her very reasonable prices, makes her unquestionably the best wedding hair and makeup artist in the San Francisco Bay Area.   Katye was amazing ! I actually found her on Thumbtack and I checked out her work on her website and was impressed. She had very reasonable prices and after I decided to book with her, she sent me a schedule of start time, the order of all my bridesmaid's hair appointments as well as myself. I didn't do a bridal trial since all I wanted was a simple look- vintage waves so I met Katye on the big day. She was extremely friendly and very well prepared. I absolutely loved how my hair, my bridesmaids and flower girl's hair turned out! Thanks so much for making my hair look AMAZING!

  Wedding Hair & Makeup Trial

  Katye did two full looks for my trial. I had already done another trial with a different artist and had been disappointed in the results, so I was pretty nervous going into this trial. I am pretty picky, and had a pretty specific idea of what I wanted. Where the other artist refused to even try the look I wanted, Katye delivered in amazing fashion! She was professional and personable, and I can’t wait to have her do my wedding next week. I even recommended her to my bridesmaid for her wedding. It’s not cheap getting someone to come do hair and makeup for an entire wedding party, but I have to say I think it’s going to be my favorite splurge!

  Unreliable

  I do not recommend working with Katye. I reached out to Katye who gave me a quote for my hair and make up. She asked me to sign an contract and pay 50% of the quote for a deposit, which is typical. I signed a contract with her and paid my deposit in April of 2022 for my wedding in April of 2023 one year in advance to secure the date. Fast forward to September of 2022, she tells me that the contract requires me to purchase a minimum of six services. I was thrown off because she never told me that ahead of time and never included that in the quote. The contract did state that there is a minimum 6 service requirement, but I wish she had told me in advance while we were discussing the pricing in full transparency. It felt like it was a hidden information. Please be mindful of this when signing with her.
  
  When she disclosed the minimum requirement, I told her I was unaware and had not budgeted that cost into my wedding planning. I asked if there were other alternatives (i.e., instead of her having to come to my wedding, I can make the trip to her salon). She said it might work given that she was going to move to salon somewhere closer to my wedding venue anyways. She said we can discuss further and explore options since we were still more than six months away from the wedding date. I was fine with that, so we did not connect for another month.
  
  Come October, I reach back out to her and she tells me that she went ahead and booked with another bride on my wedding date because it is a bigger party. She sounded like she was going to cancel on me, probably because she found a better alternative, despite the deposit that I've made. I panicked and told her I am seriously interested in working with her, that I never expressed anything else for the past six months, and that I want to resolve the situation that benefits us mutually. Only then did she say that she can have me come into her salon in the morning of before going to her other bride. I told her that it could work but that I was wary that I would be rushed in the morning for her to make the second bride. Further, my wedding wasn't until 4PM and didn't want to wake up at dawn. As I had worried, she said that I would have to be at her salon by 7 so she can make it to her second bride. I felt like I was being deprioritized for a larger party that is more profitable to her on a day I had paid deposit for a year in advance.
  
  Aside from the contractual issues, her make up skills were really bad. When I came home from the trial, my fiancé (now husband) didn't know what to say because I looked very weird (and different) but didn't want to hurt my feelings. I'd pay up and bite the bullet on poor service if her skills were amazing, but even that wasn't there...
  
  I ended up doing my own make up (and going to a different salon for my hair) and turned out better than hers.

Ended up requesting to cancel my contract due to lack of responsiveness and inability to commit to a trial. No flexibility on refund even though no services were performed. I may be out a large sum of money but I’m glad I’ve chosen a different vendor that prioritizes communication.

  Buyer Beware

  How sad that there are vendors like this who are keeping the deposits of devastated brides who had to cancel 3 months ahead of the date because of the Coronavirus. Out of about 10 different vendors for our wedding, this is the only one who kept our entire deposit. We even had vendors with non-refundable deposits who returned every penny because they realized it was not the bride's choice to cancel, she was forced by the Coronavirus. This vendor actually said she didn't have a Coronavirus exception in her contract. Just thought you should know they type of vendor you are dealing with if you are considering her.

  Unfortunately Cov-19 was a hard time for everyone, including my business. I try to be sympathetic and fair to all!
  
  I collect a small deposit to secure your wedding date, from potentially booking any other potential business/ brides, so it’s only fair if you move your wedding date that I offer to move your wedding date free of charge to a new date that my team and I are available for. Since I was not available, I did not refund your deposit which I feel is only right, as I reserved your date for over a year.
  
  I always go up and beyond for any of my clients!
  
  I hope you can too realize that not only brides were effected each and every person around the world, not only loss loved ones, but loss there business, homes, loved ones due to cov-19!
