  Half Full Photography Review!

  Joey, and Half Full Photography, was recommended by our wedding coordinator, Jill Hudgins, and we are so happy that they were. When we were looking into the recommendations that were sent our way we noticed that we wanted stylized but grounded photography, and we found that in Half Full. We chatted with Joey, our personalities meshed, and we were off and running.
  
  The day of our wedding we had Joey and Sam shooting us, and they were amazing to work with. They were constantly making us laugh, making us feel comfortable, and just helping us enjoy every moment that we were together taking photos. They worked seamlessly with our videographers at Tidal Films, and since they had both worked together many times before, the relationship they brought to the table made for an even more fun environment.
  
  Having had to adapt to a whole new setting, Emily’s parent’s backyard compared to the Scripps Seaside Forum where they have worked countless events, Joey and Sam did amazing. They were working with the light, the spaces around the property, and they did an incredible job doing so. Their photos are as incredible as we imagined! We highly highly highly recommend Half Full Photography for any of your photo needs, and look forward to working with them in the future if we have any other type of events!

  Talent, Wonderful, Perfect

  Joey and April made all feel at ease instantly. They captured every moment perfectly from start to finish. Their artist talent is off the charts. They immediately became apart of our family. Their were magical to work with and their expertise is truly phenomenal. We cannot wait to use them for every future family event.

  The best photographers in the game!

  Joey and April were absolutely amazing! They shot our small family beach wedding and made the entire experience the most memorable and gorgeous moment of our lives. The pictures were absolutely perfect and they never felt to obtrusive or posed. They truly made me feel at peace and calm on my wedding day. We have a very bossy family and they handled everyone beautifully.

  Joey Was So Much FUN!!!!

  Highly recommend Half Full Photography! Everyone kept talking about how beautiful our wedding photos turned out. Joey was really sweet, professional, and super easy to work with. It was very nice of him to give us a military discount. We met with Joey once before the wedding just to get to know each other and the styles we are looking for. He was really fun and just make you laugh naturally without fake the smiles. Our family and us loved him!!!

  The best photographers!!

  Words cannot describe how wonderful April and Joey truly are! They were passionate and extremely professional throughout our wedding planning process. A majority of our guests during and after the reception commented on how organized and efficient they were with the family photos etc. As a bride who did not have a on site coordinator prior to arrival at the venue. I was a bit nervous about how things were going to go, but they made it effortless and were extremely adaptable when it came to a few little hiccups with our getting ready shots. If we could give these guys 6 stars we would!!! My husband and I were in awe when viewing our finalized wedding photos. I think that we were even more surprised by the "sneak peek" slideshow they sent us right after the wedding. Our family and friends enjoyed it so much and we couldn't stop watching it! Thank you both from the bottom of our hearts for capturing this unforgettable day, we couldn't have done it without you!!!

  Dream team = joey & april

  Joey & April are incredibly talented photographers, and even better people. My wife and I had the pleasure of working with them for our engagement photos and our wedding day photos. The pictures they took are beautiful, and we had a great time hanging out with them throughout the process. They were prepared, organized, and just ridiculously fun to be around. Aside from producing beautiful, artistic shots that our family will enjoy for the rest of our lives, Joey & April are really good at managing people (family), schedules, lighting, cocktails for the wife and I...we got so much more than photos with them.   April & Joey came highly recommended to us from two different couples and now we know why! They are true professionals! From our initial call, I knew we'd be lucky to have these two shoot our wedding (May 2018). They were a delight to work with throughout the entire process. They made my husband and I, as well as our families and friends feel so comfortable in front of the camera. We are thrilled with the gallery of images they captured, and we're so grateful to them for letting us relive our special day. Highly recommend!

We could not be happier with how our engagement pictures and wedding pictures turned out - we have received so many compliments! And on a day when you are surrounded by friends and family, it was so great to have Joey and April there to celebrate along with us!

  Joey and April are a dream team. My husband and I knew we wanted them to be our photographers the moment we checked out their website. When we met Joey it was just easy and relaxing. My husband is not the most comfortable taking photos so I wanted to make sure we used a photographer that understood that and didn't pressure us to do anything unnatural. Joey shot our engagement photos and then he and April shot our wedding. Joey does a great job at guiding poses and placement and April has an eye for the details. She will make sure your dress is in place, jewelry straight, and hairs are out of the way. Communicating with them throughout the year is so fun and easy because THEY are so fun. They are also organized! Everything is simple and seamless. There is also just something fun about having a married couple photography duo. They genuinely enjoy their job. I am over to moon with how my photos turned out. Their style is on point and just beautiful!

  WOWZA! Joey and April are the most AMAZING photographers/people on the planet. I was planning my San Diego wedding from the East Coast and when I first called up Joey out of the blue, I knew Half Full was the vendor for me. These two are so professional, and helped keep my husband and I relaxed throughout the whole photography process. My husband HATES taking photos, and these guys were so quick and easy-going, the process was a breeze. Photos came out GREAT and on time. Absolutely love, love, LOVED these two. Above and beyond. Would TOTALLY recommend and hope to use these guys for future photography needs. Seriously, don’t even waste your time calling anyone else.

  I am so happy that my husband and I chose Joey and April to photograph our wedding. They are real professionals who are also very easy to talk to and fun to work with. We had a small, intimate wedding in our own backyard, and there were lots of little unique details that we put effort into and wanted to remember. April and Joey totally got it, and did a great job of capturing those little things. I could tell, they love what they do and take a lot of pride in doing it well. They also somehow captured lots of special moments between us and our family and friends, without ever being intrusive. They did a great job of staging the more formal photos too. When we got our flash drive of photos, I couldn't believe how beautiful and professional they all looked. We had an excruciating time picking out our favorites to go into the album since they were all so good. And the album turned out absolutely beautiful. I know we will cherish our wedding photos for many, many years to come. I would highly recommend Joey and April for your wedding too! Erica Aaron

  By far some of the coolest people we have ever met!! Joey and April are not only phenomenal photographers and have a eye for the details, but they have hearts of gold and such fun-loving personalities. When we first met them at their house - and their two adorable kids in the new pajamas - they were so warm and welcoming and the conversation flowed so easily with them. We felt so comfortable and couldn't believe how lucky we were to have scored such great photographers. I really admired their portfolio and style of photography, but I didn't know I would admire their acceptance and love for life even more. We truly enjoyed every step of the way with them and they put our minds at ease by covering all the bases and answering any questions we sent their way. They made lists of all the important photos that we were hoping to have taken and scouted out the property a day or two before to get a feel for lighting and scenery and such. On our big day, it was so fun watching April and Joey work together as a team - their communication was on point and I loved seeing the respect and love for each other flow through their work. When my crazy family all wanted pictures, they were so gracious and would say "no, go ahead!" as they stepped aside for a minute, then continue with their work. Who does that?! All I can say is, if you can book with these ridiculously awesome people, do it. They truly are the best and they will inspire you in so many ways.

  This review is long overdue (our first wedding anniversary is next month...yikes)! My husband and I can't say enough good things about April and Joey. They are the epitome of professionalism, and at the same time made us feel like their dear friends. We had our engagement session with Joey, and had such a blast with him! He's a goofball and immediately put us both at ease which was fabulous! We spent the entire afternoon and evening strolling around, taking pictures, and laughing a ton. Cut to our wedding day 9 months later, and this time we got to meet April as well. As the bride, I had the pleasure of spending time with her all morning as she photographed the bridesmaids and I getting ready. Like Joey, she has the uncanny ability to make you feel more comfortable in front of her lens. Our wedding was in January, which meant we didn't have a lot of daylight to work with after the ceremony, but April and Joey worked incredibly well with our videographers and everything seemed to flow seamlessly (at the very least it was completely stress-free for my husband and me)! I will never be able to thank them enough for their calming presence that day. Our pictures turned out perfectly, and a year later our guests are still raving about how fun, professional and talented our photographers were. We were absolutely thrilled with them, and would recommend them to absolutely anyone and everyone. Consider this me shouting it from the rooftops! April and Joey need to be your wedding photographers...you will thank yourself for years to come!!

I will never be able to thank them enough for their calming presence that day. Our pictures turned out perfectly, and a year later our guests are still raving about how fun, professional and talented our photographers were. We were absolutely thrilled with them, and would recommend them to absolutely anyone and everyone. Consider this me shouting it from the rooftops! April and Joey need to be your wedding photographers...you will thank yourself for years to come!!

  Joey and April were AMAZING!! Hiring them was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. They were so incredibly helpful throughout the whole planning process. They were always there to answer any questions. They both are such genuine, nice, upbeat, easy to get along with people. Having them apart of our wedding day was great! Not only are their personalities awesome but they really helped us with sticking to our timeline and getting all of our BEAUTIFUL photos done within the right amount time. With all that said, I can't even begin to describe how AMAZING our wedding photos are!! They really came through for us and shot some INCREDIBLE photos! Not only are the photos unbelievable but they also made sure to take the photos that were very important to us. They really listened to us and gave us the beautiful photos that were dreaming of. Overall I would highly recommend Half Full Photography. They are amazing.

  Joey and April are AWESOME! We have gotten to know them over the past 2 years, first working with them for our engagement photos in 2014. My husband is in the military and we were moved to Texas at the beginning of our engagement which made planning the wedding a little difficult. Joey and April were able to work with our crazy schedules, and fit us in whenever we had time to come home to Southern California. Right off the bat, from our initial meeting with them, we felt comfortable. They invited us into their home, just weeks after having a newborn, and it felt like we had been friends for a long time. They answered all of our questions, ran through their photography style, and explained just how our wedding day would go. They constantly communicated with us over the next year about scheduling, the process, and everything in between. On the day of our wedding, Joey and April were there on time, ready to go, and helped ease us through it all. Having your photos taken can be kind of an awkward experience at times, especially when you are kissing and canoodling for those cutesy couples photos - but the entire time, we felt completely comfortable and at ease. They were efficient and professional - we couldn't ask for anything more! We would absolutely recommend them to anyone! Seriously, hire them. Like now. :)

  Search no further! Joey and April rock it

  Almost four years later, Meghan and I not only appreciate Joey and April for their professional and amazing wedding photographs, but they've now shot wedding photos for no less than three of our friends' weddings, and have helped one of my clients for a corporate event. With Joey and April, you're getting magazine cover quality photos and exceptional service from amazing people.   We were incredibly fortunate to have found Joey and April as photographers for our wedding. We found that so many vendors offer limited choices and constant pressure to fit into a package of what is best for them and not best for you. Joey and April were an absolute joy to do business with, because they made it very clear their focus is on us and how we would like our wedding to be shot and every other details, not matter how small. They treated us like family and were a constant warm and joyful presence during the entire process.
  
  Joey and April worked to ensure the package of products and services was exactly what we were looking for. We are incredibly thankful for that, however the photos they shot surpassed all of our expectations. We had several trial shoots with other vendors and they simply were not even close to the quality of shots from Half Full. They worked several locations, scenes, poses, and captured the light and sentiment of each photo perfectly. We are incredibly thankful for their work.
  
  I will close with one of our favorite moments from the wedding. We had just finished the ceremony and were taking our newly married pictures. We were at an outdoor location right behind the altar where we were married. My husband was holding me close and kissing my cheek. Joey caught that moment with the perfect amount of sunlight that made the shot look stunning. He checked the shot on his camera and said “oh wow, you guys have to come see this”. We were all instantly in love with it and knew it was ‘the photo’ of the wedding. We have a black and white enlargement on our wall and we will cherish that moment forever.   If I could give Half Full a 10 I would. Joey and April are fabulous!!! Their creativity, humor, love for their job and the fact that they are in tune with the couples is fantastic. We consider them friends now.
  We appreciated that they scoped out the venues for our engagement, ceremony and reception before they shot. They kept in touch throughout our planning period. We loved being able to skype with them when we couldn't meet in person a few times.

  My husband and I cannot even begin to express our gratitude to Joey and April of Half Full Photography. From the very first telephone call that we received from Joey, we had nothing but the absolute best! We had a very small, intimate wedding on the beach in Del Mar. We traveled all the way from Boise, ID to this special location and were blessed to have a small group of family and friends with us. We began our quest to find a photographer for our wedding day last fall and came upon Half Full at the recommendation of another photographer that we had inquired to do our pictures, but they were fortunately already booked! It must have been fate!
  
  Over the months of planning our wedding, we developed a long distance relationship, if you will, with Joey and April via Skype, email, and telephone calls. We truly developed a friendship with them. We had the opportunity to get to know them and they were able to get to know us.   April and Joey were so great to work with! They are with you so much of the day, it's nice to have people that are relaxed and fun to be around. They worked with us ahead of time and scouted out locations for photos. Everything was great!
