The Hemlock Inn is the PERFECT place for a destination mountain wedding. Not only do they have the best view of the Smokey Mountains, they have the best food south of the Mason-Dixon Line! The innkeepers, Mort and Lainey, are the sweetest couple and make sure everything runs smoothly! Guests are expected to stay at the inn where everything takes place: Friday nights rehearsal dinner and Saturdays ceremony and reception, so it is truly a weekend getaway with your wedding guests. There are so many activities for guests to do Friday and Saturday just a couple miles down the road! The Hemlock Inn staff are so friendly and wonderful to work with. I will recommend this place a hundred times over and am so excited we have such a special place to visit for weekend getaways, anniversaries, etc!

From the moment I sat on the front porch of the Hemlock Inn and talked with Mort about using this place as a wedding venue, I KNEW that it was perfect for my fiance and me. We immediately felt at home there, and we knew that our guests would feel that way, too. The entire staff at the inn is friendly and helpful, and I felt so calm during our entire wedding weekend because I knew that between my family/friends and Mort and his crew, everything would go smoothly. Many folks have had compliements about every aspect of the wedding, including the beauty of the scenery, the food, the atmosphere of the inn, and the ease of having everything in one location. We had a BLAST, and everything was perfect. We chose this inn because of the beauty, the amazing food, and because Mort and Lainey are so darn easy to work with and a pleasure to be around, and everything turned out better than I could have imagined. If you are looking for a beautiful venue with a warm, intimate atmosphere, look into the Hemlock Inn. I could say plenty more-- but after going through the wedding planning experience, the thing that I valued the most, personally, was the peace of mind I experienced from working with the Hemlock Inn folks. And I am looking forward to having anniversary dinners there with my new friends, Mort and Lainey, for years to come. This venue is so unique and special, and I suggest that everyone at least go visit when considering venues.

    Hemlock Inn's reply:

    MRS. Scott,

It was such a pleasure working and celebrating with you! We can not thank you enough for letting us be part of your day..

Just the thought of this place brings me warm and fuzzy feelings. We wanted to bring our family and friends to a charming mountain town for a wedding weekend. The Hemlock exceeded my expectations.
    1. The Inn can house 60-70 people. Most of our guests were able to stay onsite all weekend. We had the place to ourselves and we were able to enjoy each other all weekend. It had such an intimate feel.
    2. They serve dinner family style around lazy Susans. This is how our rehearsal dinner was done followed by games on the lawn under string lights. The food and laid-back atmosphere received many compliments.
    3. They served a wonderful country breakfast for Inn guests each morning.
    4. The town of Bryson City is an ideal small mountain town with little boutique shops, a train, hiking, and water activities.
    5. They have a beautiful, serene lawn overlooking the mountains where we had the ceremony and reception. I couldn’t have asked for a prettier venue.
As if the Inn, its beauty and atmosphere weren’t great enough, you also get the amazing Innkeepers and staff to seamlessly guide you through the process to boot. Lainey and Mort made us feel so special and welcome. By the end of the weekend, they were part of the family. Lainey was a great, mindful planning partner. I hired a coordinator but relied way more on the Innkeepers. Leading up to the wedding, they were ridiculously responsive, flexible, accommodating and reassuring. Lainey calmed my nerves about the unknowns, the weather, and she and Mort made it come together magically. Our wedding was perfect thanks to the Innkeepers and their preservation of this wonderful place. They are some of my favorite people in the world.
The Hemlock was our BEST wedding choice. Our wedding experience wouldn't have been the same elsewhere. Dozens of people have said that they'll be back. We have booked a trip back this fall! I can’t wait to spend peaceful evenings retelling our wedding story with the Innkeepers for years to come!

The Hemlock Inn was the perfect place for me and Steven to have our wedding! Overlooking the gorgeous mountains, this location was truly magical for our early summer wedding. The inn staff was genuinely friendly and willing to help with even the smallest requests. Not only was it a perfect location for our wedding but the convenience of staying on property and having our guests stay as well, made for an incredible wedding weekend!

I had dreamed of my ideal wedding for many years and this wedding weekend exceeded all my dreams! If you're interested in a quaint, getaway wedding weekend filled with rocking in the red rocking chairs and, most of all, having memories be made, choose the Hemlock Inn. You will not regret it!

The Hemlock is a beautiful place for a small quite wedding. The Hemlock provided food after the wedding and it was wonderful with a buffet style allowing for plenty for all. The dining room was good size and allowed for all to be close and comfortable. The price for rooms and rental was a great value.

The Hemlock Inn is a beautiful, family owned country inn nestled in the mountains of North Carolina. Prior to having my wedding at Hemlock Inn I had spent many weekends in Bryson City, as I was dating the Inn Keeper's youngest son! I knew early on, and especially after being a part of my now brother and sister-in-laws wedding there, that the Hemlock Inn was a place that I would love to get married! And that is just what we did! Within the next year, I was engaged and there was no doubt in my mind or my fiancé's where we wanted to get married. We quickly began planning our outdoor wedding in the mountains of North Carolina, home to my now husband, and an ever special place to me. I knew exactly what I wanted my wedding to look like, and the Hemlock Inn made that happen. Not many brides plan their wedding with their future in-laws, but that is exactly what I did and I loved every minute of working with them to prepare for our special day. Even if you are not family, the staff and family of Hemlock Inn treats you like family and you quickly feel loved and cherished because that is what they do to each and every guest who walks through their door. Hemlock Inn was our Rehearsal Dinner, Ceremony, and Reception location, and catered our Rehearsal Dinner and Reception. Our photographer and florist were from out of town, but our rentals and our wedding cake were provided by local vendors. There were so many things that were special about our wedding day, but probably my favorite aspect was the community we had the entire weekend of our wedding. Unique to Hemlock Inn is that many of your guests can stay on property. Friends and family from near and far, some who knew each other and others who didn't, created a beautiful community who were there to love and support us for the entire weekend. Many venues offer a beautiful location, but only Hemlock Inn can offer pure beauty, small town charm, true family values, and an opportunity to be surrounded by those who love you most.
