  Professional, Kind, Thoughtful

  All of our guests commented how wonderful the live music was at our wedding. I was hesitant to hire because I thought it would be outside of our budget, but SFCM makes hiring musicians really accessible. Also, they were so great to work with and willing to learn new music!

  Great Experience

  We had a great experience working with Jessica and SFCM musicians (we hired a string quartet for our wedding ceremony)! Jessica was friendly and responsive through the planning, and the quartet’s performance on the day was beautiful – we got lots of effusive feedback from our guests!

  Amazing Performance

  We hired a string duo to play classical music at our wedding. They played during our pre-ceremony, and cocktail hour and set such an elegant tone to the wedding. The booking process was smooth on their website, and you get to contact the lead musician personally to go over any details for the performance. The price was very reasonable for the performance.

  Perfect string trio

  They were so reasonably priced, perfectly professional and guests RAVED about their beautiful playing. They learned a couple of songs that we requested and it was such an elegant detail.

  Wonderful Value and Beautiful Music

  I was only briefly able to listen to the musicians we hired for our cocktail hour through SFCM since I was stuck taking wedding pictures but I heard from our guests that they were wonderful. My father especially said it was one of his favorite memories of the evening.
  They were a pleasure to work with and their set list matched exactly the type of songs I wanted. Such a great value and I am really pleased that we were able to hire these students for our big day!

  I really enjoyed working with the SF Conservatory for my wedding! I'm a professional classical musician myself, so I had high expectations for the performance, and the students absolutely delivered.   We had a string quartet for the ceremony, and a jazz trio for cocktail hour and both groups were great! Professional, on time, and played well. They set a perfect vibe :D I think it's also GREAT that these kids are students, and this is some extra $$ for them.

  We hired a string trio from Music To Go for our June wedding and they were great! Erin K. was our group leader and she was very helpful - I wasn’t able to meet with her or the other trio members in person because I was living out of town, but we planned all the ceremony music over phone/email and she was always extremely responsive. Just a week before the wedding, my husband had a special request for the song he wanted himself & the groomsmen to walk in to, and the trio happily accommodated it.
  
  The day of the wedding, the trio played for 30 min before the ceremony, played walk-in music during the ceremony, and then played both classical and cocktail music during the cocktail hour. The ceremony music was beautiful - and most importantly for me, the tempo of the song I walked in to was perfect. I didn’t get to hear the cocktail hour music, but I’ve heard rave reviews from friends who said it made for a great ambiance.

  they were wonderful and i was glad to use students. lianna who was in charge of my quartet did a fabulous job coordinating for the music and helping me find the special sheet music i required. lovely!

  My husband and I hired a string trio from Music to go! for our wedding in January 2009.
  Because the musicians are students, we did not really have a chance to meet before the wedding to go over the music details, which some people may feel nervous about. We normally exchanged emails. There was one time that I did not get a response from a group leader for a week so I had to make a call to confirm if my song selection was okay. I ended up choosing several songs and left the rest up to the group to decide.
  
  I was not concerned with the level of their performance considering they all go to music school, but they turned out even better than I had expected! Musicians can be very costly, but the rate at Music to go! was very very reasonable. My friend who is getting married this month (Feb 2009) decided to hire them, too. Highly recommended!

  Great way to have affordable live music.
  We had a jazz trio play during our ceremony and cocktail hour (guitar, bass, trumpet).
  After you go through the booking agent at the school you can actually talk directly to the musicians who had great suggestions and were really reliable.

  We actually used Music to Go for our cocktail hour. We hired a string trio. They were excellent, and a great value. The only (very small) negative--if you want music other than what's on their play list they charge a hefty price, but they have a lot of great stuff on the play list already, and it's really just background music so you probably won't notice anyway.

For example, our contact took more than a week to respond to an important email, and only after we made repeated attempts by email and phone to contact her. Although it turned out fine in the end, planning the music turned out much more stressful than anticipated due to their poor responsiveness. I understand they are students and still learning the business, but they need to be more professional about their responsibilities.
