    Wonderful!

    Historic Concord Exchange is a beautiful old building with lots of charm and character, it doesn’t need many decorations which makes a great way to stay in budget. The staff were super polite, helpful and eager to please!

    Venue Tour

    Our tour of the Historic Concord Exchange was wonderful, Karna was very friendly and professional. The building is absolutely beautiful and has a lot of character which is why it ranks among the top of our possible wedding venues.

    Awesome venue!

    We had our wedding reception at the HCE on 7/13/19 and it was perfect! The venue itself is so beautiful and unique, everyone loved it! And Karna (owner/coordinator) is amazing to work with! They have their own chef that will work with any menu you want and the food was DELICIOUS! We also got many compliments on that! There is no food and beverage minimum and they will work with whatever your budget may be! If you're looking for a different/unique venue space with tons of awesome photo opps, I HIGHLY recommend!

    Nothing short of Amazing

    The Historic Concord Exchange is nothing short of amazing. The venue itself is breathtaking: all of our guests were in awe of the architecture and spaciousness. Lots of great photo opps! The staff makes it super easy to plan the wedding of your dreams- Karna far exceeded our expectations as a coordinator. She responded to questions quickly and always had our best interests in mind. You can tell she wants to help you plan your dream wedding with little stress on your end. The food is phenomenal, we had a hard time deciding on what to offer. Lastly, the wait staff made clean up at the end of the night seamless. Would highly recommend this venue!!

    Beautiful, Unique Venue. Wonderful Experience.

    We had such an awesome experience having our wedding at the Historic Concord Exchange. We received so many compliments from our guests on the food and the atmosphere. Karna has such a big heart and works so hard to accommodate any requests during the planning process. Definitely recommend this beautiful, unique venue!

    Our experience with The Historic Concord Exchange has truly been a pleasure from beginning to end. Karna and Liz were knowledgeable, helpful and amazing every step of the way! All of the staff for our rehearsal and wedding day were extraordinarily warm, welcoming and friendly. Some of the many features that helped us decide on the HCE were the fact that they offer so many services. An amazingly stunning building(that will be all yours the day of your wedding, so you don’t have to worry about sharing spaces with other parties) tables, linens, and china, including a DJ in the contract, offering up to 14 guest rooms for the wedding party to spend the night after the wedding and having in house catering and bars. They basically checked off a lot of the things that we would have had to organize ourselves if we went elsewhere, which that alone is a very big deal. The wedding day schedule was very tight for us and having Karna, Liz and the rest of the staff there to help was a game changer. All of our wedding guests have been complimenting us on having a beautiful and fun wedding, and it would not have been possible without The Historic Concord Exchange.

    We had a wonderful experience at the Historic Concord Exchange. We wanted a venue that could accommodate 150-200 guests and could still be budget-friendly. HCE was exactly that place. Food is done in-house and they have a preferred DJ company (Complete) so that helps decrease the number of decisions a couple has to make. Karna, the venue coordinator, really is the gem of this place and its best representative. She was responsive to emails, practical (never tried to up-sell us and actually gave a lot of practical advice from her extensive experience), well-organized, and always willing to go the extra mile. We were planning from afar, and she help accommodate our crazy schedules. We were so impressed with how the day went and the incredible value we got.

    Beautiful venue, wonderful staff - they're very helpful in covering everything we need to get done for the big day! The food is delicious, and they were excited to work with us on doing a Sundae bar as opposed to a regular cake - which is wonderful for us! Definitely recommend this venue! They also have a lighting and sound system already built in, which is nice - it's a huge relief to me to not have to shop for a DJ on top of everything else involved in wedding planning!

    Update: the reception went off smoothly! the DJ company they work with is wonderful - the DJ really delivered! I had my ceremony at my church, but they offer that option to do both the ceremony and reception at the exchange.

    We loved the venue. It was so fun. The food was delicious and delivered to our guests in a timely manner. We brought in our own table decorations the day before and the staff had everything all ready for us. Beautiful historic venue. Very attentive staff.

    Such wonderful people to work with! Christine and Chef Duke were so accommodating and flexible! Christine was so patient and willing to accommodate all my requests from room layout, decorations and really last minute additions to our food/beverage order. She is very attentive and responsive. She has a very calm demeanor, which was very easy to work with.

    We received many, many compliments on the charm and style of the space. It was beautiful! The ambience of the Historic Concord Exchange fit our style and vision of our wedding perfectly.

    We highly recommend the HCE as a wedding reception venue. Guests are still raving about the venue! Such a unique site (not your typical hotel ballroom) and VERY fairly priced! Christine was amazing to work with; detailed oriented; responsive; professional; and, ON SIGHT during the entire reception. We had trouble loading a slide show into their system and she called in a tech guy who solved the problem. Really went above and beyond! The place was set exactly to our specifications and looked fantastic!

    Both the chef and the onsite wedding coordinator were awesome to work with. Very helpful and receptive to my questions and ideas.

    We had such a wonderful time. The only thing we had any issue you was a change in staffing , and there was a minimum of confusion in a meeting, but Karna and Molly stayed to go over everything even though we surprised them. Everyone was fabulous and the whole staff was friendly and helpful. The planning process was really easy, we barely had to decorate the building was so beautiful.
    We used the venue to get ready and the area we used was lovely and had comfy couches for everyone to hang out, we had sandwiches catered and they were delicious.
    All of the food was wonderful (and the staff set some aside for us to eat before all the apps were eaten!) , they had lots of options on the menu and were willing to go off menu for us as well.
    We had our DJ through the house DJ ( Complete) , Bernie was so helpful and let us know whatever we needed he was the guy for it and met with us ahead of time and kept in touch with us before hand to make sure everything was ready to go and went smoothly. He kept people on the dance floor all night and had a great mix of music of throughout the evening.
    Overall everything was wonderful, I would absolutely choose them again

    The historic concord exchange was the perfect venue for our wedding reception! The coordinator there was extremely easy and fun to work with and very helpful!! We had many conversations leading up to the day to make sure all details were taken care of.

    The Historic Concord Exchange truly was a stunning and memorable venue for our wedding reception. Five years later, we are still receiving compliments from family and friends who enjoyed the elegance and timeless charm of this unique and well managed building.

    We planned our wedding during a time when the downstairs restaurant (caterer) was transitioning from one manager to another, and though the resulting changes may have proven disastrous for other businesses and their clients, the owner of the HCE met with us and made sure that the move would be painless and that all of our requests would still be met. The new chef was accommodating and helped us create a menu that was complimentary to our original one. And the sound/lighting manager for the nightclub Valentino's met with us several times to guarantee that the music and lights would create the perfect atmosphere for our guests to enjoy through the course of the evening. Nearly everyone we spoke with and met with devoted a good deal of time and attention to bringing our vision to life.

    I am so pleased to say that our reception was a beautiful, fun event that fully lived up to our expectations. If you go with this venue, be sure to invest in a quality wedding photographer who can take advantage of the gorgeous interior of this building. Everything from the restored woodwork and vintage furnishings to the intricate railings, high ceiling and sweeping staircases just begs to be photogtaphed!

    Karna and her staff, including the chef, were AWESOME!!!! I could not have asked for a better venue to have the most important day take place in. I got so many compliments from the guest as to how great, classy, and pretty the site was. Highly recommend this place!!!!

    I absolutely loved having my wedding at The Historical Concord Exchange. it was the perfect backdrop the tone of the wedding I had imagined. The Chef and food was amazing, the event coordinator (Christine) was fantastic beyond words, and the venue itself was perfect for the wedding we envisioned.

    The only problems were encountered throughout our experience was the day of the wedding the guests sitting in the upstairs balcony portion of the venue could not hear the speakers very well. The guest rooms located in the building were old and a bit run down as well. There were a couple of rooms where the water flow was very low and there was no warm water. All in all though it was perfect!

    As a parent of the groom, we were thrilled with the Historic Concord Exchange. The food was wonderful. The DJ that they recommended was one of the best I've seen. The owner, Karna, took great care of us and we really felt like she was invested in our day. The building is beautiful and we loved it.

    The wedding coordinator is absolutely wonderful! While planning a wedding your always told something will go wrong, she did everything in her power to make sure our day was perfect! She went over every last detail with us more than once. The venue is beautiful and we haven't stopped receiving compliments.
    We did have a small issue with communication when the original coordinator left the Concord. Also, with firming down details with their DJ, but again the new coordinator did everything she could to make sure we got what we wanted.

    As a venue by itself, the Historic Concord Exchange is amazing. Karna did a wonderful job as the venue coordinator, and the 4 year old daughter of one of my cousins is pretty convinced that the wedding took place in an actual castle and that my wife is an actual princess. However, a venue is only as good as who they recommended, and HCE uses an absolutely horrible company for the DJ services and recommends them for photo, video, and lighting, and puts on a monthly promotional night for them. We paid this company like they were professionals, however they had the same skill and camera equipment as amateurs. Going with this company resulted in losing about 90% of the video from our wedding that we will never get back, and it was completely their fault. HCE itself is amazing, they just need to find better companies to work with and recommend.

    Having my wedding reception at the Historic Concord Exchange was the best decision I made! It was gorgeous and it has every kind of space for every kind of person. You can choose to have more intimate settings around the bars or the upstairs room. I put games in the upstairs room for kids. The dance floor was never dead. It was a constant party all night, and my only wish was that it lasted longer. Christine, was so helpful and accommodating, and she has everything I needed. She was on top of helping me get things together and asked the right questions to be sure I had everything. Price was very good for Minneapolis as well. It is also really close to The Clarion hotel that has a bar where they provided a shuttle so no one needed to drive and that made quests very happy too.

    The Historic Concord Exchange is an impressive venue that will wow your wedding guests.
    We were very happy with the layout and the amount of space the venue offered.

    The only frustrations we had was from the time that we signed our contract to our wedding day (approx. 16 months) the was three different planners that we worked with. It was a little unnerving having things change so much, with out any notice. The final, and current, planner we worked with, Christine, was very nice and easy to work with. So much of our day went so smoothly because of her.

    The Historic Concord Exchange, as a venue space, is gorgeous. The building has a lot of old world charm and is very large and open. The two story ballroom where ceremonies and receptions are held is really beautiful and they have more than enough bar areas to accommodate guests as well. They also have a small amount of on-site hotel rooms, so in theory this is the perfect tailor made wedding venue. However, the service experience I had there was less than stellar. The response time of the coordinator was extremely slow. I had a question on a menu item that I wanted to clarify before printing and mailing my invitations and response cards, and it took almost an entire month (5 emails and 3 voice mails) to get a response. In the wedding business, where deadlines are extremely important, this is just unacceptable. I will say that the closer to the wedding date we got, the better the response time (and the responses) became, but the planning process was extremely stressful. They were able accommodate many of my requests as they were able, but not without repeated requests from my end. While I was not happy with the planning process, my wedding day did go very smoothly and I still love the building and the space (as did my guests). I would say that if you are someone who doesn't mind ambiguity and self-coordinating your wedding, the space can definitely be worth the frustrations. You just have to have a LOT of patience. If you are more of a "dot my i's and cross my t's" kind of a bride who wants clear-cut explanations and has high expectations, I'd say this probably isn't the place for you.

    We recently had our wedding at the HCE. Everything was fine working with the HCE until the day of our wedding when the Coordinator did not show up at the agreed upon time. After sitting outside for 50 minutes we had to go back to the hotel to start getting ready there instead so I had to pay for all the hair and makeup people to travel to the hotel. When the coordinator finally called me after I made many calls & sent a lot of emails her response was she looked at the wrong time & we were lucky she wasn't charging us more money anyways. I made my mom deal with any contact with her the rest of the day as I did not want to deal with her. So the entire day was delayed by an hour & we got only half the pictures we wanted to take, we were extremely rushed & stressed all day because of it. When the keg ran out later in the night the bartenders didn't bother to tell us so guests ended up paying for their own beers for a half hour until a guest told me & I told the bartenders to tap the other keg. We had a random man from the street come in on our reception & our best man had to make him leave as the security we had to pay for couldn’t be found. The only reason I even gave 2 stars was because the servers were good, the food was very good, and the location is beautiful. Although, the place needs some sprucing up as the carpet upstairs is all uneven, it’s a trip hazard, & the ceiling leaks if it rains. Do not do ivory linens through them as none of their linens are the same color ivory the napkins are a different color than the table cloths & some of the table cloths don’t even match. Also, when we came to setup none of the tables, chairs, or linens were setup so we had to set them up which was a lot of work on top of everything else we had to do. Honestly, I had so many things go wrong on my wedding day beyond just this vendor & it was the most stressful day of my life; which is very sad.
