  St. Luke’s Church

  We had our ceremony at St. Luke’s Historic Church, and it was beautiful! Fred was easy to work with and made our transition from a big wedding to a small wedding really easy when COVID hit and our plans changed. St. Luke’s was the perfect place for our small ceremony!

  Historical and beautiful

  Historical and beautiful, St. Luke's Historic Church and Museum provided the best backdrop for our wedding with a few different packages to fit your needs. We opted for the "72-hour rental," which gave us exclusive access to the grounds and allowed for our rentals to set up a day before and break down a day after. I couldn't be any happier with how wonderful of a venue the church was for our ceremony, and the outdoor tented space worked out so well for us.

  Stunning location with friendly staff

  Fred was wonderful to work with for our entire planning process. Was easy to schedule times to see the church before the big and worked with us on small details. Speedy response to any and all questions.

  Amazing experience!

  I cannot rave enough about St. Luke’s! Fred was a pleasure to work with and went above and beyond to accommodate us. The staff was even on hand the day-of to help with logistics. I was so happy to be able to get married inside this little piece of Virginia’s history and I would highly recommend St. Luke’s to any couple looking for a beautiful, historic, and traditional wedding ceremony venue!

  Stunning and magical church full of charm and history. With a small wedding of 40 we were able to have all of our guests on either side of us by the alter making it feel very intimate. Our guests loved that they could all see us. The grounds are also beautiful as well. I cannot wait to get our photographs back!!

  Such a gorgeous venue! The church and grounds are breathtaking. Colin was so helpful; he answered all of our questions and was so patient. After our ceremony and outdoor pictures it started to rain and Colin saved us by driving us on a golf cart protecting bridal gown and makeup! We loved it so much we had our reception there as well. A giant tent fit perfectly and dozens of "candles" made for a romantic vintage theme. They worked with us every step of the way. We chose right before sunset giving us gorgeous pictures inside and out of the church. We look forward to returning and enjoying the memories of a wonderful day.

  This is a beautiful historic church in Smithfield, and was the most perfect venue for my wedding ceremony. Many of the guests complimented the church and have expressed interest in visiting the site again to learn more about the church and its history. Even though the church is hundreds of years old, it has A/C, and the bridal dressing room is roomy and comfortable. The staff, especially Collin, at St. Luke's are warm and friendly, and made the process very easy. They are very accommodating, allowing me to decorate the church and hold rehearsal the afternoon prior to the day.
  Although it is in Isle of Wight/Smithfield, it is a very easy commute from Norfolk and the Newport News/Hampton area, with little traffic.

  Gothic Wedding

  If your looking for a great backdrop for a Gothic Victorian wedding this place is it! It was right next to the graveyard and the inside of the church was very beautiful!
