Great location, loved that we got married with our toes in the sand.

The location can not be beat. Ceremony on the sand and reception in the Laguna Room with a private balcony. Nicole, our Wedding Coordinator was so helpful and professional throughout the entire planning process. On the day-of she and her crew took care of every single detail to provide us the wedding of our dreams.

I am so happy that we chose Hotel Laguna for our wedding venue. Everything about the experience from my initial reaching out to the follow up after the wedding was top notch. Nicole and Jessica are absolutely amazing and I know that that they cared what my vision was for the wedding. I didn't feel like I was just a client to them, which made the entire process that much more enjoyable. Everyone on property was accommodating and delightful. My guests had nothing but great things to say, especially about the food, which the hotel worked with us on to be exactly what we wanted (taco buffet). The venue is beautiful (barefoot on the beach and reception overlooking the water) and their team decorated the room in respect to my vision perfectly. Our wedding day is now my favorite day of my life so far. If you want a beach wedding and people who work their butts off your you, this is the place. I felt like we mattered and were completely taken care of through the entire process.

We could not be happier with Hotel Laguna. They would respond to our emails at 2:00 in the morning and were always ready to help with anything we might need. We had our rehearsal dinner, ceremony, and reception all at the hotel. Also, our guests stayed there for a few nights as well. The service was amazing and the price was not bad. We worked with Jessica primarily, and she made sure that everything went smoothly. Book your wedding at Hotel Laguna!

We just had our wedding at Hotel Laguna and it was wonderful! Jessica Wellnitz coordinated it with us and she was truly a pleasure to work with -- organized, responsive and full of great ideas. She made planning easy and went above and beyond to ensure the day was perfect. We did our ceremony on the sand and our guests all loved it. The hotel was very accommodating and all the staff were great. The food was delicious also! Everything went off without a hitch and we were able to enjoy our own wedding to the max. It was perfect! I highly recommend doing your wedding here!

We are so happy that we selected Hotel Laguna for our daughter's wedding. They bent over backwards to make everything go just right. Jessica was our wedding coordinator and she is extremely professional and totally on top of things. She always responded quickly and got answers or made arrangements in a very timely manor. We never needed a wedding coordinator because we had the ceremony on the sand and the reception in the Laguna Room downstairs and Jessica took care of all of our needs. Everything went as planned and we are very pleased. The food was delicious. We had the hanger steak with mashed potatoes. The servers worked extra hard and the management was just great.

We chose Hotel Laguna as our wedding venue for our July 2016 wedding. I had always dreamed of a beach wedding and our day ended up being better than I could have imagined. We worked with Nicole Cipolla as our event coordinator, who I absolutely loved. She made the planning so easy and helped me make decisions on the little details, gave me cute ideas for the ceremony and suggestions to make things easier and to reduce costs. She was willing to work around my schedule for planning meetings leading up to the wedding, was very responsive and made me feel at ease through the whole stressful process. Working with her truly felt like I was planning our wedding with a close friend. She went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect for us to make sure it was my dream wedding. On the day of, she and Jessica Wellnitz took care of all of the day of coordination with vendors, schedule and last minute details so that I did not have to stress at all. The day went seamlessly and stress free thanks to the great staff that took care of us.

I looked for many venues to have a beach wedding and reception in one location and Hotel Laguna was by far the best option on top of it being the most affordable and could accommodate the most guests. The hotel location was perfect and was a central location for my guests, many of which stayed in vacation rental houses in Laguna. Many guests also stayed at Hotel Laguna and really liked the unique, historic feel of the hotel and the convenience of the location, beach access and great restaurant.

I highly recommend Hotel Laguna if you’re looking for a beach wedding in So Cal. I couldn’t be more happy with our experience at Hotel Laguna! It was truly my dream wedding!

I am writing this review just days after my wedding because I cannot wait to share my amazing experience! I worked with Jessica Wellnitz for an entire year leading up to our wedding and not only was she responsive and helpful, she was the easiest person to work with! Jessica made you feel like you were the only bride she was corresponding with because she gave you the attention you needed and answered all your questions in quick manner. I cannot express my sincerest thanks to Jessica and her team throughout the planning phase. (I also cannot recall how many e-mails I sent to Jessica throughout the year with a list of questions in each e-mail)!

I would also like to take this time to recognize Christy Johnson and her team for an incredible job well done on the day of the wedding as well as the two weeks leading up to it! Christy is such a friendly and easy person to work with as well! She was quick to respond to e-mails and voicemails and understood the importance of having all the details in place for the big day. Christy and Jessica also offered to help set up the table numbers and favors (as I did not have a day-of coordinator on site).

Overall, my husband and I felt that we had the most perfect wedding we could ever ask for! Jessica, Christy and the Hotel Laguna staff played an integral role in the success of the wedding as well as ensuring our guests had an amazing experience. We are grateful to them and look forward to visiting Hotel Laguna for future celebrations!

A perfect wedding venue. The staff at Hotel Laguna, in particular Jessica Wellnitz, went above and beyond to ensure that every detail of my daughter's wedding was perfect. They coordinated the ceremony, rehearsal dinner, and reception. It was perfect. Highly recommend. Gorgeous views.

We had our wedding ceremony at Hotel Laguna on the beach this past October and had an absolutely amazing experience! Jessica Wellnitz was the coordinator we worked with and she was so beyond helpful and truly made everything run smoothly. I had no worries on that day because everything was taken care of better than what I could have asked for.

The price for ceremony was the best I had found for a beach ceremony in the area. They take care of everything, cleaning the beach, set up and take down with chairs, arch and tables included. I was able to bring my own flowers and decorations and they provided my guests a water station which everyone loved.

Throughout the whole process everyone we worked was so friendly and accommodating. The view was amazing and location was perfect especially for out of town guests. We had our reception elsewhere only because they couldn't accommodate our size guest list. I highly recommend Hotel Laguna for ceremony venue! We also held our rehearsal lunch there outside on the patio, which was great as well!! Good food, great staff and amazing view.

My husband and I had both our rehearsal dinner and wedding here. We did the ceremony on the sand and the reception in the Claes room. The wedding was PERFECT! I could not have asked for a better location, value, and team to work with at Hotel Laguna. Sarah Lawson, Jessica Wellnitz, and Christy Johnson were all so helpful, professional, and friendly throughout the whole thing. I didn't and neither did my parents have to worry about a thing the day of the wedding. I (the bride) did most of the planning and I did not have a wedding coordinator other than the help I had from Jessica and the rest of the staff at the hotel. So, to have Jessica answer emails so promptly and be so informative was extremely helpful. It would have been a waste to hire a wedding coordinator in my opinion.

The venue was absolutely gorgeous, the rooms were simple but comfortable. However, if you are staying in a room with a street view of even the coastline, it can be very noisy at night. If you have oceanview, then it is fine and you cant hear much else other than the waves (which is lovely).

We had many compliments on the food for both the rehearsal dinner and the reception. For the wedding, we did the chicken and filet Mignon duo for all the guests and the filet Mignon and lobster tail for the bride and groom. Absolutely delicious! Many of the guests had the seafood pasta at the rehearsal dinner and it was probably one of the best seafood dishes I have ever had!

I highly recommend Hotel Laguna, especially if you want that perfect beach wedding!

We had our wedding at Hotel Laguna and it was amazing. From the start of our planning to the final day, Hotel Laguna staff was nothing but kind, professional and passionate. Sarah and Jessica helped us along the whole process and they were so quick at responding to any questions or changes we had. Jessica was there early in the morning making sure myself and my husband were comfortable and good to go. She even had our favorite Pina Coladas waiting for us after the ceremony! We had our wedding on the sand and they defiantly know how to throw a wedding for a small or big wedding group. I didn't have to worry at all during the day of the wedding because the whole team was so responsive to any and all needs. They did not disappoint and there was no hidden fees. My guests loved the scenery and they enjoyed the food. It was everything I imagined! I don't think you can get a better beach wedding location for the price, customer service and without all the beach restrictions many other locations have. We will defiantly be back again for anniversaries!

On Saturday, February 14, 2015, my husband and I got married at Hotel Laguna. From the initial phone call expressing interest in information about booking at this particular hotel, until we checked out of the hotel the morning after we got married, our experience was incredible! I spoke to a woman by the name of Sarah Lawson, who was extremely warm and kind and full of all the answers to my many questions. She immediately sold me on this property. Jessica Wellnitz and Christy Johnson took great care of us throughout the rehearsal, the wedding, and the reception. Without their professionalism, their skills, and their dedication, the wedding would not have been as perfect as it was. It was because of Jessica and Christy that it was absolutely wonderful! Don Tran at the hotel took outstanding care of us as well. My husband and I checked out of the hotel the next morning and flew to Italy and spent our very long flight saying how happy we were about choosing Hotel Laguna as our place to get married. The rehearsal lunch on their patio outside overlooking the ocean was outstanding. The organization of the actual rehearsal and the wedding itself was perfect. The reception was so much fun and absolutely beautiful. All in all, I would definitely recommend this hotel for a wedding. Thank you Hotel Laguna! We had a small wedding (<20) with just immediate families. The Catalina room was perfect for our reception and the ocean view as the sun set was a beautiful that day. Everyone enjoyed the food and went home full. Their beach space makes it easy to have a beach wedding without having to worry about permits. Both Sarah and Jessica were quick with responses and helpful in providing photos so we could limit the amount of visits we had to make. We lived an hour away and had busy schedules. Christy was completely attentive to our needs during the reception. I highly recommend this venue for those on a budget or prefer small, simple weddings which is all I really wanted.

From the initial inquiry to the planning and execution, the team at the Hotel Laguna including Sarah and Jessica were fantastic.

This was our first (only only) wedding and we really didn't know what we were doing, but Sarah and Jessica coached all along the way and made sure everything went according to plan.

Jessica diligence to every detail really allowed me to let go of more normal control freak attitude and relax and enjoy our wedding.

We had our ceremony on the sand, and cocktail hour and reception in the Laguna Room. The location is amazing and the view of the ocean is breathtaking! The patio is also a nice feature for guests who want to get fresh air.

Staff: Once we booked the venue and started planning, Jessica was there every step of the way. She really made sure that all of our requests were fulfilled and we couldn’t be happier with her. Sarah Lawson and the catering manager were there for the event. They are both very sweet and know what they’re doing – they made sure everything went smoothly. The day went by without a hitch!

Food: The food was DELICIOUS. We had the salmon and filet mignon duo served, and the price was very reasonable. We received a lot of compliments on the food!

Accommodations: Yes it is an older hotel but we all found the accommodations pleasant and comfortable. The hotel lobby is very nice and the rooms are nice and have character. There is no AC in the rooms (only in the banquet spaces), but we just used fans and kept the windows open and it was fine. Noise is another thing to keep in mind – for guests staying at the hotel, they are better off requesting a room that isn’t right on the street. The top level of the hotel is probably the best bet (the same level the bridal suite is on).

We are so thankful to Hotel Laguna and its staff for an incredible day. It could not have been more perfect.

My wedding was everything i wanted it to be thanks to Sarah and Jessica at The Hotel Laguna! They were awesome!! I couldn't have asked for more.

We had our wedding at the Hotel Laguna in August 2014 and absolutely loved it! The beach and the staff made for an amazing day. It was truly a pleasure to work with Jessica Wellnitz and Sarah Lawson throughout the process. They were always very responsive to my (many) questions and were always on top of everything from confirming details to following up on requests that involved other departments in the hotel (e.g., catering and/or rooms). They were also really accommodating –for example, my husband wanted a specific type of craft beer and they made sure they were able to have it for the wedding day and I really wanted mini corn dogs during the cocktail hour and they made it happen. Jessica made the lead up to the wedding and the wedding day itself as stress free as possible. The wedding day itself was wonderful—Jessica dropped by once or twice to make sure everything was all set and to ask if we needed anything and she was there throughout the ceremony and the beginning of the reception to make sure everything went smoothly, and then handed us off to the catering manager who was our go-to contact for the rest of the reception. Our ceremony was held at sunset on the beach under a cabana and it was perfect. The reception (in the Laguna Room) was super fun and everything went smoothly. We set up a gifts table and photobooth in the hallway. The food was really good, as well. (We went with the plated option—barramundi, filet mignon, vegetarian ravioli or a vegan option.)
We also love the convenience of the Ocean View Bar & Grill and beachside drink/food service—it makes for a great way to spend some time with guests the morning after, or provide a great beach vacation experience for guests who are staying longer.

We had our rehearsal dinner for our wedding at Hotel Laguna on July 4 for ~85 of our out of town guests. Jessica, Sarah and their team were able to put together an incredible event. From the beautiful setup of the room to the way the food tasted to the excellent service our guests were provided, we could not have asked for a better venue. I had full confidence from the beginning that the event would go smoothly based on our ongoing interactions either via email, phone, or in person. So professional and pleasant. I would highly recommend Hotel Laguna for either a rehearsal dinner or smaller wedding reception.

By the way, the location is pretty much unbeatable. Mother of all beach views. One of my favorite things about the place is the private deck that our guests were able to enjoy throughout the night. Our rehearsal dinner just happened to fall on the 4th of July. Watching fireworks on that deck with all our loved ones on the night before the wedding--doesn't get any better than that!!

My husband and I got married here. We had a garden wedding in January and it was absolutely perfect. Every detail was thought of and executed perfectly. We had the best planning experience. The ladies we worked with were just amazing. Always communicating with us before any final decisions were made. They were very patient with us and super helpful. I highly recommend getting married here. My guest, my family and my husband and I couldn't stop talking about how excellent everything was. The food!!! OH my- not your normal wedding food- so much better. For the price, scenery, food, and accommodations- so worth it!

Hotel Laguna Staff was great to work with for my wedding on August 3, 2013 at Hotel Laguna. Hotel Laguna Staff helped me plan the wedding of my dreams and pinterest board. My ceremony was on the beach, cocktail hour in the rose garden, and reception in the Laguna Room. I worked with Sarah Lawson and she provided me with numerous ideas and support throughout my 14 month engagement. I met Sarah when we toured Hotel Laguna looking for the perfect venue for my fiancé and me. Sarah used her experience and expertise to help me plan the wedding I envisioned. Sarah is a great listener and team player and she does everything with a smile. Sarah was extremely responsive to all my emails. I also worked with Christy Johnson at Hotel Laguna and she was professional and responsive. Both Sarah and Christy are team players and were always courteous, kind, flexible, and professional. Sarah is also very connected in the wedding, event planning industry and introduced me to all of the following vendors: White Orchid Productions, Kat Pesanti (Hair by Kat), Ampersand Events, Floral Occasions, Wildflower Linens, Amazing Tents & Events, and Vox DJ (for Ceremony & Cocktail Hour). Every single one of her preferred vendors was hardworking, a team player, punctual, and professional. Varia Permyashkin supported me with the room block and she was kind, easy to work with, professional, and very responsive. Hotel Laguna Staff was on time to every single meeting and event.
