Our wedding ceremony was in Hubbard Park this past summer and our reception was in the Hubbard Park Lodge. We could not have been happier with our experience with the Hubbard Park Lodge. Hubbard Park is absolutely beautiful and made for amazing photos. I loved having our reception in Hubbard Park Lodge. It is cozy, rustic, and historic - it will never go out of style. As far as the wedding planning staff goes, we loved working with Jordan and Catherine. For initial planning, we communicated with Jordan. He was very quick to respond to emails and did everything he could to answer my questions promptly. We met with him several times, and he was always so accommodating. On the day of the wedding, Catherine was there to make sure that the ceremony and reception went according to plan. The ceremony chairs were set up on time by Hubbard Park Lodge staff, and Catherine made sure that everything went smoothly for the reception. She was also very accommodating for the setup of the reception and made sure that we had everything we needed. Jordan and Catherine were amazing and I have absolutely no complaints! The food at Hubbard Park Lodge is delicious! I am confident that there is no other venue in the Milwaukee area that has this good of food for such a reasonable price. We had a buffet dinner and had so many compliments on the food. Hubbard Park is a public park with a beer garden, so we couldn’t prevent random people viewing our ceremony, but we had absolutely no problem with that. Our guests also loved that there was a beer garden to hang out at before the reception. Additionally, one reason we chose Hubbard Park for our wedding is that it has a built-in backup location (Shorewood River Club) in case of rain, taking all of the stress out of our outdoor wedding! Overall, I recommend getting married at Hubbard Park to anyone looking for a beautiful, unique, intimate, rustic wedding with great service and delicious food. We are so happy we chose to get married there!

We booked Hubbard Park Lodge because we were looking for the country in the city feel. We loved the location for a fall wedding. Trista, the manager, was very friendly and helpful whenever we had questions. We initially met with them on site before we booked but after most of our communication was through email. We could usually expect a response the same day. Noah made incredible food! We had a plated dinner but after the taste testing it was hard to choose only a couple options. Our guests loved the rustic feel of the cabin and the layout with the balcony. We had 155 people but still had room to dance just by moving a few more tables. The staff was all amazing and were really friendly to our guests. If you are looking for a unique and rustic venue this is it!!

We were recently married on July 23, 2016. Our overall experience with the lodge was wonderful. The food was spectacular! We had arranged for an outdoor wedding, but sadly when the day arrived we got rained out. However, they provide a free backup venue for rain, so the wedding was held in the Riverclub, the smaller building right in front of the lodge. It was nice to know that even if our ideal outdoor wedding could not happen, we had a plan B. Because there was no early wedding that day, HPL allowed us to get in early and set up. They were more than happy to accommodate whenever possible. The staff was friendly and on the big day everything went just as planned. Sure, there was a miscommunication or oversight here and there, but Jordan Mota was responsive and quick to remedy any issue we had. We were so lucky to have wonderful vendors, a fantastic day of coordinator, and an energetic band who transformed the lodge into a magical vintage circus themed escape. Thank you HPL for you role in our wedding!

Hubbard Park Lodge is nestled in the woods on the river banks of the Milwaukee River. For an outdoor ceremony, the backdrop was simply beautiful. We used the stairs as the entrance/ailes to the ceremony and it made for such a grand entrance. Our guests could not stop ranting about how beautiful the setting was, yet still close to downtown. Claudia, our coordinator, had such a laid back, easy going attitude; whenever I spoke with her, she put me at ease (which was needed, as wedding planning was so stressful). I knew whatever I asked for, she would have the perfect solution and accomodated for all our requests. Noah, our chef, was just as kind, and accomodating as well and the food was delicious! Our guests loved all three of the selections offered! Inside the lodge was the exact ambiance we were looking for. Cozy, yet elegant! I would highly recommend anyone who is interested in an outdoor/woodsy setting to consider Hubbard Park as your venue!

I had my wedding at Hubbard Park on Aug 9, 2014. They did a really great job! I'm not going to lie, I was not happy to find out there was a beer garden at the park after we had booked it, but it didn't interfere with the ceremony itself, however, I was upset with my guests for having beer before my ceremony. Had the beer garden not been there it wouldn't have been a problem, so I'm still not excited about that, BUT that is really my ONLY negative thing to say about Hubbard.

The staff at Hubbard really helped the day move smoothly. If there was anything we needed, they were quick to get it. We had a young man, and his name escapes me, but he came down to my new husband and myself after our ceremony and let us know if there was anything else we needed through out the night he would take care of it.

The reception was beautiful. They really keep up the lodge nice and we got many compliments on what a great venue it is. We also got many many compliments on the food. When we went in for our tasting we were in love with the food, so we were very happy that we got the same quality at our wedding.

Hubbard Park Lodge is an excellent value for the services and quality you receive. All of the staff from waitstaff to the event coordinator were extremely friendly and accommodating to requests. They were extremely easy to work with and gave excellent guidance on how to make our day as amazing as possible. We had the least expensive menu choices, but everyone raved about the food! It is definitely better then "typical" wedding food. They also have a really great late night menu.

It is a beautiful historic building, but this also affects their flexibility. There are a lot of restrictions on decorations and when you can get into the building to decorate. It makes it quite stressful the day of that you need to coordinate people to go decorate the hall between the ceremony and the reception since you only get access to the hall a couple of hours before your event. The good thing is that it is a such a beautiful hall it does not need much help.

Overall we loved our experience with Hubbard Park Lodge!

*One are of concern that really isn't in control of the hall is the parking situation can be problematic. If you are concerned about guests with limited mobility you really need to request having the golf cart there to bring guests to the lodge.

Oh Wow! that was a comment heard frequently at our wedding reception. As guests walk through a tunnel and venture past the milwaukee river they realize that they are going to celebrate in a unique space. the Lodge is just that cozy, comfortable, a little rustic, but with a couple small touches- amazing. One recommendation would be to string some lights around the banisters upstairs if you have an evening reception/event. The whole venue gets transformed with white linens and it wouldn't be done so well and professionally without Claudia. She alleviated all stress by having quick and honest conversations. My attendants were able to come early and set up the lodge. Our guests loved the outdoor patio. The food was great. I like beef on the raw side but when our intro and speeches ran late, claudia got the food out as fast as possible. The only drawback is that the lodge is used for other things. So be prepared to have people stay after the reception and help remove personal belongings. I would recommend this venue to anyone having less than 175 people. AMAZING

We just booked our wedding ceremony and reception here and so far Michelle and Catherine have been wonderful! They are extremely knowledgeable and quick to respond. I read a few mixed reviews but I am so glad that we are going with this venue. The fact that it is a public park, rustic, near the river, and has a bunch of amenities really made this venue our #1. I will update in a year or so, after our wedding!

My husband and I got married at Hubbard Park in August and had our reception at the Lodge. In terms of value, there is no competitor in the Milwaukee area for Hubbard Park Lodge. The location and atmosphere is absolutely amazing for the price. Much of the wedding planning that occurred prior to the event was initiated by me or my husband (aka we weren't super impressed by their organization or responsiveness to our inquiries). However, during our meetings in-person and on our wedding day the staff was put-together, professional, kind and very helpful. The food was fantastic and the chef took time to stop at our table to check in with us at our reception to ensure everything tasted good. With hindsight I would still absolutely recommend Hubbard Park Lodge. I would just say that it is probably easiest to answer any questions during in-person meetings instead of over email.

Overall a great experience with Hubbard Park. Initially they were slow to respond to emails but as our wedding date got closer, they were more responsive to our needs. I loved the rustic feel of the lodge; perfect venue for my fall wedding and beautiful park atmosphere.

I had my wedding reception at Hubbard Park Lodge on August 7th and I couldn't have asked for a more wonderful evening. I personally can't eat gluten and we had a few other food allergies, but they were happy to accommodate these issues. The food was absolutely wonderful and the prices were the best I was able to find in the Milwaukee area. Many of my guests came up to me at some point in the night to mention how beautiful the venue was and how much they were were enjoying themselves!

There were a few things that the lodge could improve - the communication was very slow by email, and the staff could be hard to reach. In person they were very helpful, but they could definitely do better with virtual communication. Also, they only let you in the venue about 2 hours prior to the event for the DJ and 1 hour prior for decorating, so that was a bit of a rush but we made it work. You also have to have everything cleaned up the night of because they often have events the following day.

All in all, I had a wonderful reception and would recommend them to anyone who is a good planner and able to keep things moving themselves. They did a great job and the venue is beautiful.

I absolutely loved having our wedding here a few months ago! Pros: The food, and the chef were AMAZING! I cannot say enough great things about him. Most people told me it was the best food from any wedding they have ever attended, and I completely agree. The value was also great compared to other local venues which were a lot more expensive and didn't include as much in the price. Having the ceremony at the same location was a huge plus for us, as well as the fact that all catering, dinnerware, alcohol, etc. was taken care of by the venue and we barely had to hire any outside vendors. My major complaint was the wedding planners/event organizers. It was so hard to get a hold of anyone and each time I sent an email I got a response from someone different which was extremely confusing. When I did talk to people, they were friendly and helpful, but I always had to be the one to reach out first. I rarely heard from them unless they were asking about payment. I never even met the event planner on my wedding day which was strange. I'm sure she was around but she never came and talked with us. The chef, however, did come and ask us several times if we needed anything and he was extremely professional. I also felt like no one at the Lodge was really directing the flow of the night or following our timeline. I felt either I or the DJ had to round everybody up and ask about events when the time came (grand march, first dances, etc.) This was a little stressful on me and took away from the time I could enjoy my own wedding day. Overall, the pros DEFINITELY outweigh the cons. I would recommend the lodge for anyone looking for a cozy, unique all-inclusive venue in the Milwaukee area. Many thanks to everyone who works there and made our wedding night so special!

My now husband and I picked this location because we liked that it was "off the beaten path", yet still easy to access, that it was a pretty location and for the quality of food. All of those things remained true about the location but there were several very disappointing features.

We had no idea that other events were planned on the same day/practically the same time as our event until basically the day of! There was a rehearsal dinner in the other building on the same day and by the time I arrived with the wedding party (1 & 1/2 hours early before the ceremony), all of the parking spots were taken by the other event! Needless to say parking was a definite negative - if people could park on the street by the tunnel leading to the lower level it might have been at least a little better.

Communication between the managers and myself could have been way improved. As opposed to other locations there was no real sit-down discussion about all of the details regarding the location, ceremony & reception. It all just seemed to happen pretty randomly, getting emails occasionally about things or sending them emails myself asking questions about certain things. They really need to sit down one-on-one with each couple and go through all the details and logistics of the day, what they can provide and etc.

I loved the look of the venue and they did try their best to be accommodating. If we wanted to use something or change where the ceremony was held, they allowed us to do so. However, my biggest complaint was the management staff, the wedding coordinator seemed to be confused and not on the same page as other members of the staff. There appeared to be a miscommunication between the chef and management... what a menu option really meant and how items were prepared. In addition when we first signed out contract we were promised a different date, however, a few says after signing we got a call saying the date was already booked but wasn't written down on the main calendar. Like I said miscommunication.... Because of the communication issues I don't think I would recommend, no matter how pretty the wedding turned out.

The staff and the food was amazing at the lodge. It is a gorgeous setting for a rustic fall wedding. Only issue is they don't give you enough time to decorate the lodge (2 hours before reception) and they are pretty pricey, with a food and beverage minimiums a couple thousand. They did provide other services such as a golf cart for my older guests to get a ride and a fire in the fireplace. It was warm and cozy on our chilly wedding day.

Interacting with the (3 succeeding) event coordinators was my absolute least favorite thing. They took weeks to answer my questions. When they did, they didn't answer my specific question and ignored other questions. I was in contact with the bride who held the timeslot after me on the same day. When we compared notes we were often told different things, some of them outright lies. It was like pulling teeth to find out which items on our menu contained gluten so I could alert my gluten intolerant guests. We were given the final bill and asked to pay with a cashier’s check or money order in less than 24 hours even though we gave them our final count 4 days prior. The Chef, Noah, on the other hand was great. He planned a custom buffet which turned out fantastic. He communicated promptly and professionally about the menu and was upset to learn that my questions about my guest's food allergies were not being answered. He also helped us store decorations at the lodge the night before our early wedding when the event coordinator couldn't be bothered to answer my inquiries despite being asked 3 times. I made reservations for our rehearsal dinner at the Friday fish fry through the event coordinator; she put them under another bride's name. They split our party of 14 into two separate round tables which we found to be very awkward. We were the first group in the lodge, and our French fries still ended up being cold. Otherwise the food was good. On the wedding day itself everything went great and our guests loved our brunch buffet. We spoke to both Tony (our liaison guy) and Noah several times and they were very attentive to us and our guests.
My philosophy while planning my wedding was hire a professional, give them an idea of what you want, and then let them do their job. Noah and Tony delivered while the multiple event coordinators did not. If Hubbard Park can elevate that aspect of their business to the same level as their food and scenery they will be a fantastic venue.
