We had our wedding in the Hudson Hotel Penthouse early this spring, and it was perfect from beginning to end. Our big day only involved immediate family, so we used the smaller, east half of the suite with the more open terrace – and it was just gorgeous. The main reason we chose the space was for the incredible city views from the beautiful, spacious balcony, but the indoor space is stunning as well. Bright & white, the suite was the perfect blank canvas for our event – and the team at the Hudson worked seamlessly with our wedding planner to ensure that it was transformed precisely to our specifications before our guests arrived.

Our event manager, Valerie Perez, made sure that every detail we discussed throughout the planning process was tended to. She was an absolute pleasure to work with, always going the extra mile to make sure we got what we wanted. And the rest of the Catering & Service staff was incredibly attentive and kind throughout the day of the event too. In fact, we are grateful for all of the gracious staff members throughout the Hudson Hotel. Every single person – from the concierge to the event staff to the porters – took such great care of us throughout our stay and made us feel so special on our big day.

And don’t even get me started on the food! Everything we ordered exceeded expectations. I’m not kidding when I say that our guests are still raving about the meal months later!

The only issue we had was in trying to get a block of rooms for our guests. They ended up staying at another local hotel that offered larger rooms at a much more acceptable negotiated price.

Regardless, you can’t go wrong with the actual event space. We highly recommend the Hudson Hotel Penthouse for your upcoming NYC wedding – they’ll make sure you have a day to remember!

Would highly recommend this venue for a wedding - we had the wedding on the rooftop and what a view!! Food and service fantastic. Great chef and they made the menu tasting so much fun. Guests commented on the fantastic food and service. Great breakfast next morning in the library - highly recommend that also. Not too responsive as regards getting answers prior to the wedding, so frustrating, but all was well in the end. Would suggest using a private wedding planner to make things go smoothly, and stress free. They really need to have their own wedding planner who knows the job well.
Quite a few guests had problems with reservations - rooms not ready for hours which should hot happen.

The Hudson Hotel was an amazing urban, chic venue for my wedding. The food was amazing and so was the service. The only complaints I have are with the management of the hotel.

Overall: Great space - execution a bit sloppy but it didn't deter from our day. If I had to do it all over again I still would have chosen the Hudson for our wedding. The space is stunning and very unique.

Comments: (1) Hudson will advertise the space fits 130 - that is with NO dance floor. The max of the space is approx. 100 with a dancefloor. 100 is inclusive of the OUTDOOR space. If you get bad weather, cocktail room is more like 85. Otherwise, you have to split into different rooms which is weird.

    (2) Execution is a bit sloppy. Here's a report card:
Coordinator B+: solid, needed some reminding. Promised some things and didn't deliver (votives/décor in corridor lacking, spec cocktail issue - see below, wishy-washy on capacity constraints).

Cocktail hour C+: Yikes...they indicated they gave us enough food but I sadly heard from several guests they didn't get any hors d'oeuvres which is absolutely unacceptable. The issue was that the wait staff would trickle out and only go to the front of the room. Anyone toward the back of the room or on the terrace didn't get any food. When we asked if the staff could provide more food to the terrace the person said "everyone in the front of the room is eating all of the food." They NEED more wait staff for cocktail hour!!

Dinner: A-. In contrast to the cocktail hour, the dinner staff was on point and it was absolutely flawless. Dinner was timely, food was great.

Bartending staff A+. Everyone RAVED about them.

    Other comments:
    - DO NOT get the specialty cocktail (extra $). They didn't pre-pour or advertise it the way we expected.
    - The front desk staff is absolutely atrocious. Needs an overhaul / lessons on hospitality.
    - Space requires some investment in terms of décor - do not let the ugly dining chairs dissuade you - recommend renting chairs (although more $).
