  Hy-vee in Lenexa

  The Hy-vee in Lenexa off 87th street did the flowers for our wedding on 6/29/24. Lori and Lydia were AMAZING! My husband and family HIGHLY recommend them for any wedding or event. They made our flowers / centerpieces look amazing and even better than we thought than when we met with them!

  Clean prompt and delicious

  We hired the Hy-Vee on Barry Road to cater our wedding on 9/18/20! I couldn't figue out or find the correct Hy-vee on here so I just picked one. But our experience was with the people and food at Barry Road just a disclaimer lol! They were delicious. They have many options to choose from, with different food and serving choices. In our package we chose, it was buffet style and you got 2 entrees - we decided on Herb roasted chicken and Sweet and spicy salmon, which were absolutely yummy! They were restaurant quality, and we got so many compliments. Tons of people took home the chicken and salmon! We also got to choose 3 sides - we did the best mac&cheese we have ever had, green beans, and salad. And then you also get hot and soft rolls with that choice. Also sturdy disposable plates, cups, utensils, and napkins were all included which were just fine for us. Everything was so good, and the people at Barry Road location were so kind and helpful and the tasting was super fun! We were also running an hour ahead of schedule on the Big Day. They adapted quickly and easily had the buffet set up and the food steaming before the first dances were done! They are super affordable, and they even have a fancier option for utensils if you prefer that, with real glass plates and wine glasses, cloth napkins, etc. They had a wonderful team who stayed and served everyone which was cleaner and safer in the times we are going through now! I highly recommend them. They were clean, efficient, experienced, flexible, versatile, and the food is amazing, hot and fresh! With all the food choices and serving options, such as buffet, food stations, and family style, etc, they have to offer, you are sure to find exactly what you are looking for there!

  We were recommended to Mark Clark and his catering team at Hy-Vee in Mission, KS. Mark was completely professional, flexible and went above and beyond his role as manager to help our wedding run smoothly and successfully. We were so blessed by the integrity and kindness that we received from Mark and his team. We would highly recommend them for your wedding or any catering needs. Oh and the food was awesome! We had so many of our friends complement on the quality and taste. Thanks for making our day so special.

  My husband and I had the best experience working with Mark Clark and the Hy Vee Catering staff.   HyVee did a fantastic job with my flowers and cake. I was very impressed with their ideas and creativity. My colors were black and red with the rose has my flower. The mixture of black and red with white and diamonds was very elegant and I received many compliments on how everything looked all together. The cake was a mixture of white and chocolate with a delicious frosting that stayed very fluffy and moist. I would definitely recommend this vendor because in addition to a beautiful and memorable look of the flowers and cake, the price was right on and very affordable.

  I always LOVE working with Melody Baty at Hy-Vee! Her work is beautiful, original and always comes with very friendly yet professional service! When I spoke to her and told her what flowers I wanted she created a design for me that far exceeded my expectations! A few days before the wedding it dawned on me that I did not arrange for a throw bouquet (even though I had already told Melody I was going to take care of it). When I called and told her what I had (or had not) done, she simply told me not to worry, She would take care of it. She did all of the flowers for the wedding party and also added the live flowers to my cake making is so beautiful! I will continue to use Melody for all of my floral needs!

  The people at Hy-Vee were wonderful! The florists were so great and easy to work with. I loved my flowers, they were exactly what I wanted. I was on a strict and very tight budget but you couldn't tell by what they designed for us! The catering was great, our guests really enjoyed the food. There was a ton of it too, so we really ordered more tan we needed.

  I attended several bridal fairs and tasted dozens of cake samples from various vendors. I felt that the quality and value of Hy-Vee's cake far exceeded any other I had tasted. I chose a simple white cake with champagne filling and buttercream frosting. I had several positive comments from our guests on not only the wonderful taste but how beautiful our cake was decorated. Many guests stated they thought our cake could be in a bridal magazine. Although biased, I agreed. Hy-Vee was easy to work with and flexible in their willingness to adjust delivery time. I would recommend Hy-Vee to a friend.

  Great Staff!

  I had my wedding dinner catered and the staff and manager were amazing! The set up of the food was great and they made sure it was kept warm. Although I unfortunately was thrilled with the food. The chicken seemed dry and the potatoes seemed to have a mediocre taste. I made other foods to accommodate but I was a little disappointed just not liking the taste. It wasn’t horrible.
  I ate it all off my plate but just hoped for something a little better.

  Our wedding vendor alerted us to the fact that Hy-Vee does wedding cakes. I was concerned at first. How can a grocery store do an appropriate wedding cake? Actually, Hy-Vee does an annual "cake decorating contest" among all their stores and they have some amazing cake decorators!
  We were really lucky to work with Brenda, now at the Mission Hy-Vee. She is fun, down-to-earth, and knows what is important for brides and weddings. When you first contact her, you will set up a consultation. At that time, she will ask about all your desires, tell you what is possible (almost anything is), and tell you how much that will cost. Then you will leave (or you can eat them there) with samples (actual standard-sized cupcakes!) of each flavor to try.
  I was surprised about how moist and yummy the cake was coming from a grocery store.
  Afterward, she will schedule a "touch-base" call to see if you have decided to get your cake with them and finalize all details (flavors, decorations, etc).
  For a (very) small fee, they will even deliver your cake!
  You really can have cake that is just as yummy and pretty as expensive bakers, much cheaper.

  My case looked good and tasted GREAT but was not decorated as we had discussed.
  
  I had a simple 3-tier white wedding cake and took in a picture of exactly how I wanted it decorated.
  
  It was easy:
  Bottom layer: white piped vertical stripes
  Middle layer: white piped dots
  Top layer: white piped vertical stripes
  
  When I got introduced after our wedding and as we made our grand entrance into our reception, I saw the cake. I was not happy.
  
  This is how the cake looked:
  Bottom layer: plain white (no piping)
  Middle layer: white piped dots (correct!)
  Top layer: plain white (no piping)
  
  I was very disappointed, as the pictures of the cake do not look good. It looks like the cake got decorated half way and then she stopped.
  
  The only saving grace was that it tasted AWESOME! The cake was so yummy.
  
  Make sure you give all the details to your cake decorator in person and make sure you see her write them down on your order form, because clearly discussing them verbally and handing her a picture to put in my file did not work.
