The Hyatt Recency was the perfect place to have a wedding! From the first minute I started thinking about planning, until the first time I saw the hotel, even after the wedding has taken place, I am in love with the Hyatt! I got to work with Michelle, she was amazing! I had so many questions, and she promptly answered every one, she even gave me several different options, even if I just asked for one. She worked with me and my budget, even when I had to drop the order of wings a week before the wedding due to some personal financial reasons. She was there and walked everyone through the rehearsal, and was the "go-to" person for me specifically, but for anyone who had any questions regarding anything wedding related. She gave me copies of how the room would look, and gave me options on how to best set the wedding timeline, especially for the reception. The rooms were all stunning, and I couldn't have asked for a better place to have a wedding! Thank you Michelle, and everyone who helped make my wedding perfect at the Hyatt Regency Wichita!The Hyatt Recency was the perfect place to have a wedding! Charlotte is the awesome! She even came out on Saturday right before the wedding started to make sure everything was going well. It was her day off and she had Bridgette covering our event, but she wanted to make sure everything was going well. She is wonderful!!! Thank you chef Paul for the great food! If you are looking for a special venue with a WOW FACTOR, the Hyatt Regency in downtown Wichita (next to the river), is incredible!! Of course, you MUST work with CHARLOTTE as she is a true professional WEDDING PLANNER who is available to you the whole day of your event!! Charlotte provided us with exceptional service by attending to every detail and more! We had the most perfect, absolutely amazing day at the Hyatt for our daughter's wedding! The Hyatt was wonderful to work with and I would highly recommend as a wedding venue! Charlotte Smith is absolutely the best and is very quick to respond to any and all questions and requests you may have. She will make it happen! The Hyatt Regency was a beautiful venue for us to have our reception at. Everything was flawless and perfect ! Kay and Charlotte did more than I could have ever dreamed of! The staff was amazing during dinner and serving drinks to our guests! Our guests commented on how beautiful everything was and how professional and courteous the Hyatt Staff was. The hotel also provided beautiful suites and rooms for our guests, and even purchased a gift off our of registry and had it placed in our wedding night suite! If you are looking for incredible service and a beautiful classy location, Hyatt is the place to go!The Hyatt Regency was a beautiful venue for us to have our reception at. They Hyatt Regency is absolutely wonderful! They are well informed, willing to answer any and all your questions. The Hyatt did an awesome job with working with us. They helped us plan everything to how we wanted to be done. We had many out of town guests at our wedding and wanted to do it all in one place. The Hyatt riverview ballroom was perfect! Elizabeth helped a great deal. The food was great, service great. Christie Stewart and the whole Hyatt team made our reception perfect. She acted as our day-of planner as well as helping coordinate the details beforehand. Also, there was none of the "hotel reception" stiffness and formality one might fear. Christie did all the things we asked (creating a whole new menu, doing a midnight snack, stringing lights indoors and out, using all our own linens and decor, featuring our oreos, etc, etc) and really worked with us to keep the costs reasonable. Even planning from afar, Christie, Chef David, and the whole Hyatt staff made for an amazing, stylish, NYC-worthy event.Christie Stewart and the whole Hyatt team made our reception perfect. We worked with Charlotte at the Hyatt and I only have good things to say! She was so good with my 100s of calls with questions and she sat down with us many times to figure things out. The event went really smoothly and the food was great. We had our reception in the Riverview ballroom- I would high recommend this space. Food- The food was OUTSTANDING. We could not have received more compliments on the food. We were very impressed with this portion of the service. The banquet staff during dinner was on top of things, efficient, and polite. Our catering sales manager Charlotte was a joy to work with. She was always on her game and went above and beyond for us many times. We truly appreciated everything she did! From our experience, she in one of the only good things the Hyatt has going for them and they better hope to never lose her!
Areas of Improvement Needed:
Linens- The linens on the important tables were very wrinkly. The chair covers on the chairs were ivory and very, very stained. At 12PM on the day of our wedding, the room was barely set. They told us it wouldn't be until 3PM- our reception was at 6PM. After much begging, they agreed to have it done by 1PM which left our photographer little time to get pictures of all of the details. While I was pleading with the banquet staff on our wedding day to get the room set, my husband was dealing with billing because they charged his card twice for the reception bill maxing it out. If you are hosting a bar, the Hyatt configures "how many drinks they think will be consumed" and charges you upfront, they say that they will refund your money if you don't get to the limit and charge you if you go over the limit. When our bill arrived days after our wedding, sure enough, the Hyatt claimed we drank the exact amount of glasses of wine and champagne they assumed we would drink. Not 2 glasses-less or 16 more, the exact amount. We were completely taken advantage of and this is an unethical practice. **We wanted to pay for two suites that were attached to some of our families rooms. The Hyatt charged our card for the suites and they double dipped and charged our brother-in-law's card for the suites. *Hyatt offered us points for our troublesWe had our reception in the Riverview ballroom- I would high recommend this space.
