  With only 3 weeks to my wedding I had to find a new photographer. It proved very difficult. Then I called Josh. He was so kind and was willing to take my wedding, even though he had one the next day up in Fargo, ND. I was so thankful. He did an awesome job! I love every picture! He had 5 kids under 8 that he had to corral and somehow he did it! I was super impressed! We had kind of a hectic schedule that day, and he was able to keep it together! And we got all the pictures I wanted!
  
  I would definitely recommend him to anyone getting married in the area!

  My husband and I had our wedding June 2016. We to were required to pay upfront in full prior as well. Through our numerous email and phone conversations we were assured that it would be achievable to receive a few photos within a week of the wedding to use for thank you cards and to get a sneak peak. Sadly, that was the start of it all, the start of unfulfilled promises. Despite my husband and I's multiple and I mean MULTIPLE MULTIPLE attempts to communicate we barely were able to receive a digital copy of our photos via his website. Josh stated that he had to "honor" photo shoots taken prior to ours which was cause for concern.... Read more

Despite my husband and I's multiple and I mean MULTIPLE MULTIPLE attempts to communicate we barely were able to receive a digital copy of our photos via his website. Josh stated that he had to "honor" photo shoots taken prior to ours which was cause for concern. Not only that, but when my husband and I received a copy of his contract to review it said he has up to 6 months to give us our products; any decent and good photographer will not take longer than 3 months, most I have since talked to do it in a month. I should have said no right than and there. We were ignored for months on end with no communication as we were and are still waiting for our thumb drive with all our photos and the photo album we were promised per contract. The few times we were able to contact him he always said the same thing, "I will get it to you by the end of the week', or I am putting in a photo album order and will have it to you in a week.' He also said that he and his wife just had a baby and hadn't anticipated things being so busy "staying" at home to help his wife. While I myself am a teacher and love kids, he is running a business in which people are trusting him to photograph a very important event that does not happen everyday and that requires a level of professionalism and organization. Not only that, but due to the lack of, no correction no communication, some very simple edits that I would like to have had done to the photos will more likely than not never happen.   Do NOT use J Stokka. Josh did not follow through on his contract. He showed up to take the pictures (they turned out alright), but we had to hound him in order to get even half of what was in the contract. Communication was AWFUL. Josh would not respond to any contact for weeks on end and never gave us updates on what was going on with our photos. Find another photographer.

I was terrified that he had lost my wedding photos and videos because he refused to respond (until legal action was mentioned). NEVER pay someone in full until you are happy with your results. He seemed very reasonable in prices and with the recommendation I received from the wedding venue, I decided to hire Josh for the wedding. What a mistake.. Josh had in his contract to be paid in full a month prior to the event which seemed odd given the idea of paying vendors on the day of the event seems to be more appropriate. Unprofessional and suspicious behavior by poorly responding to emails and phone calls. Do not trust this person with your cherished moments as he is irresponsible and untrustworthy. Highly disappointed with this photographer and would not recommend to anyone. I do not feel he deserves a mere 1 star rating.
