I don't believe that I was a bridezilla, in fact the opposite and more of a AWOL bride. As a medical student that had multiple finals and rotating through different hospitals that were out of state she managed to coordinate everything. She ensured that everything went smoothly and I cannot speak highly enough of her patience.
Kelly's impeccable coordination and meticulous attention to detail made our wedding experience seamless and truly unforgettable. As the coordinator, she effortlessly orchestrated every aspect, ensuring that all loose ends were expertly tied just before the big day.
Her professionalism and dedication were evident throughout the entire process. Kelly exhibited exceptional organizational skills, promptly addressing any concerns or last-minute adjustments with grace and efficiency. Her proactive approach and calming presence reassured us, allowing us to fully enjoy the moments leading up to our wedding.
As for the venue itself, it shines elegance and radiates beauty. Truly a hidden gem!

We had our wedding at the Michener. Our venue was simply gorgeous. We loved it from the second we saw it on our tour. It was different from all the other weddings we've been to and many of our friends and family were very impressed. Our guests couldn't stop telling us how great the venue was throughout the night. We agree! It is a hidden gem that we got lucky more people did not know about. Plus, it is affordable! My husband and I still can't get over just how reasonable everything at CBD was especially for the quality of food and service we received.

The staff at Catering by Design and The Michener went above and beyond for our wedding. Everything turned out perfectly thanks to Melissa and Kelly’s hard work. The Michener is an amazing venue in Doylestown and matched our vibe beautifully. I’d absolutely recommend having your wedding there!

My husband and I wanted to go non-traditional with our venue choice, and we were absolutely right to choose the Michener! Lindsay and the entire Catering By Design team is so incredible! The wedding turned out exactly how we pictured! The glass pavilion is so beautiful and guests loved being able to walk around the museum.

As soon as my husband and I went to tour Michener we were sold on having our wedding there. The space is absolutely gorgeous! We loved the outdoor and indoor space and that we were able to utilize it all for our early fall wedding. The venue is so unique and guests loved exploring the exhibits during our reception. The exclusive caterer at Michener (Catering By Design) went above and beyond on delicious food, amazing staff, and coordination to help make our wedding day run smoothly. When we had to postpone our wedding date due to COVID, Michener and CBD were beyond accommodating and made the process so seamless and reduced our stress around the situation. They truly care about all their couples and we feel so lucky to have had such an incredible venue and experience for our wedding day!

My daughter was married 4/23/2021 at the Michener Art Museum in Doylestown, Pa. What a wonderful experience! It's such a elegant and beautiful venue! Our wedding planner, Lindsay, was so easy to work with and walked us through every step! All our guest remarked how beautiful the wedding turned out. Thank you Lindsay for your hard work, and a big thank you to Catering By Design for the delicious food and excellent service! The Michener was a perfect spot for a beautiful day.

If you are considering a wedding at the Michener Museum, DO IT!!! It is such a beautiful and unique place to have a wedding! All of our guests were shocked by just how beautiful everything was and how amazing and welcoming all of the staff were. It was such a magical venue and so different than any other venue you will ever see! Guests were not only able to dance the night away but they get to view all of the amazing art, sculptures and fountains. It is such a classy venue that provides ample options for beautiful pictures for you, the wedding party, and all of your guests. The staff at the Michener and Catering By Design were all so polite and attentive to all of our guests. The food and service could not have been better! Our wedding planner who works for the Michener Museum and Catering By Design, Lindsay, was simply amazing to us and I really can’t thank her enough. Our wedding was affected by of covid, but the Michener, CBD Catering, and Lindsay were so extremely flexible and worked together to make us forget about the disruptions covid caused and make the night better than we could have ever imagined. They exceeded our expectations and I can’t speak highly enough about the venue and the entire team who went above and beyond and made everything flawless. Thank you ALL so much!!!

The space at the Michener Museum is so gorgeous for a wedding. The staff was so unbelievably kind during the event. Working with Lindsay, their event coordinator, was very easy. She was so professional.

Our wedding at the Michener was absolutely gorgeous! The venue is unique and served as a perfect backdrop for a perfect autumn wedding day. From the cocktail hour in the sculpture garden to the drama of the opening of the Pavillion window blinds, it was truly spectacular! Everyone raved about the delicious food and the overall beauty and elegance. It was unlike any wedding I had ever attended. Lindsay form Catering By Design was wonderful to work with and all of her advice from flowers to DJ were spot on! If you are looking for something a little different and classy...the Michener is the place. We could not have been happier!

I want to thank Terri Fair from Catering by Design for her attention to detail and support during the planning of Sarah and Dane's wedding. I was very happy with the organization of the entire process. Food was great, guests were happy. Everything turned out better than expected! Terri handled all of the details seamlessly! The Michener Art Museum was a fabulous venue. The outside courtyard was perfect for the ceremony and cocktail hour. The inside ballroom was beautiful and dramatic when lit up in the evening. Terri was incredibly professional, responsive and knowledgable as our coordinator at Catering by Design. She helped us select menus, determine a sensible run-of-show and even choose linen colors. Terri was wonderful to work with and we'd highly recommend both CBD and the Michener as a venue. The museum space was gorgeous in late Spring, and was perfect for a ceremony/reception at the same site — easy to navigate, beautiful art and expansive spaces, and located near to Doylestown and lots of hotels and B&Bs.

When we booked our venue in February 2014, we had no idea how beautiful it would be 2.5 years later. The James A. Michener Museum was everything we could have asked for and more. It was picturesque, clean, and a unique place for us to exchange vows. More than a month later, guests are still talking about the galleries, the sculpture garden, the dramatic reveal of the glass atrium, and (of course) the wall. We would highly recommend The James A. Michener Museum.

Our spring wedding at the Michener Museum was stunning!! It was even better than I had imagined! This venue is stunning (especially when the sun is setting), beautiful, and unique. Jeffrey Miller Catering was also pretty easy to work with. The waiters/waitresses/captain/bartenders were all professional and the food was fantastic! Craig was our coordinator who guided us along the process. I loved everything about my wedding here.

We had our wedding in the Pavillion at The James Michener Museum in October. The event was exactly what I had dreamed - flawless and stunning. Craig was so amazing to work with - from start to finish I felt at ease with the museum and Jeffrey Miller Catering. The food was more that I could have asked for - fantastic! It was a treat for my guests to have such amazing food.

This venue was an amazing place to have our wedding! The thing that sold my husband on this venue was the pavilion where the reception was held. It has the appearance of an Apple store, modern, clean, and classic. The ceremony was held in their courtyard with a stone wall backdrop. The guests then moved seamlessly to where the cocktail hour was in the sculpture terrace. The museum also lets the guests wander around throughout the night, so guests can enjoy the works of art they carry. There are some minor limitations when it comes to decorations, but since it is a museum by day, it makes sense. It is such a beautiful and modern venue, that it isn't necessary to cover it up anyways! Lastly, the museum works exclusively with Catering By Design. We worked with Terri from CBD and Garnish (their florists) who made the whole process so easy and less stressful knowing that they have everything under control!

This venue was beyond our wildest dreams and also within our budget! Our guests could not stop commenting on how interesting and beautiful it was. Our pictures came out gorgeous as a result. The staff was lovely, too. The only tough part was that they required a proof of our wedding invitation so that they could approve the use of the museum's name. Somewhat annoying but not completely unreasonable.

A perk of getting married at Michener is that you are also given a free year of membership to the museum. An awesome reason to go back and relive the day, not to mention support an important local arts institution.

Just had my wedding at the Michener in June. SUCH a great venue. It is absolutely beautiful and definitely unique. I loved that there were inside and outdoor places. We wouldn’t have to the same room for our ceremony, cocktail and reception even if it were to pour. Thankfully it didn’t and we had our ceremony and cocktail hour in two different areas of the sculpture garden then the reception in their beautiful reception space – and the whole time our guests were free to roam the museum.

Not only was the space beautiful the food was amazing! When we went to our tasting we were impressed with the food but were sure it couldn’t taste that way at the actual wedding when they were cooking for 150 instead of two. To our surprise it was as good if not better. And our coordinator Craig was great – he set up all my DIY stuff correctly and made sure I didn’t have to worry about anything the day of. We had a guest trip and hit her head at one point (she was fine!) but Craig responded well and got her the help she needed. I would say the only thing that wasn’t perfect during the whole process was occasionally it took a little while for Craig to respond to e-mails but he did always eventually get back to me and to me it wasn’t a huge deal but I want to be completely honest. It was such a great day – and we had several guests tell us it was the best wedding they had ever been to!

Beautiful venue. Food was terrific. Great service and Terri was so accommodating.

We were actually the first wedding to be held in the new Pavillion May of 2012. We LOVED it there. It was beautiful and well-done all around. Sue was wonderful to work with throughout every step. Jeffery Miller catering - delicious! They're Gluten Free cake was awesome!
We have received so many compliments on the venue - still to this day!!!

I had my wedding at the Michener Art Museum just last month and I couldn't have asked for a more romantic venue for my big day! Our guests are still talking about the venue, galleries, and food. I used their in-house vendor, Catering by Design, for catering, decor, and florals. They were very easy to work with and were able to execute my vision flawlessly. The food was amazing and the catering staff was a extremely courteous. And receiving a one-year membership to the museum a week after the wedding was a nice touch.

The staff's ability to be flexible was limited due to the constraints of the art museum (e.g. no plants are allowed to be walked through the galleries and my wedding party was shushed by museum staff a number of times during photos in the museum galleries). That would be my primary complaint. I would still highly recommend this venue to anyone looking for a unique venue.
