James was amazing for us and really did all he could to help make our wedding feel special. First of all, we were planning our VA wedding all the way from Oregon, and he was great at being available for Zoom calls with us. He also took the time to learn about us as a couple and turned that into a story he told during the ceremony. Several of our guests asked if he was a friend of ours because of how much he knew about our individual personalities and our time together. Overall, our experience with James was completely stress-free, and he absolutely made our wedding day special. -

Highly recommend!!!!
If you are thinking about hiring Mr. James Davis to be your officiant. DO IT!!!! It was better than we could have even ever asked for. Every single person at our wedding thought he was a friend or family member because of the way he detailed our story and brought it to life. I highly recommend him. He made our day even more special and was one of the best parts of it! My husband and I, and our friends and family could not give him enough praises. He is phenomenal at what he does. Thank you so much for making our day so heartfelt!!!!! -

Elopement with Pastor Davis
James was absolutely amazing and helped to make our special day perfect and run smoothly. He’s extremely personable and was the easiest person to work with and made sure we were all taken care of. He even gave us recommendations for honey moons and restaurants after the fact. I highly recommend choosing James Davis for your special day! :) -

Mr.James and his wife are the best. Loved how we able to recieve his service on such a late notice. We appreciated the many little things they done to make our moment special. One being that we didn't have a venue so we eloped at his home office. The second was the fireplace was a beautiful touch. Lastly, the photos his wife captured so we could remember the moment. -

My (new) husband and I were searching for someone to officiate our crazy idea for a January, sandy, beach elopement. When I found James and Irene, I was about done with wedding stuff and just wanted to marry the love of my life. After seeing all they have to offer on their site and the gorgeous photos Irene captures, we were ready.
James knew I am quite busy with work so he suggested the spot and even checked the sunset time to get some amazing photos, which just goes to show the attention to detail and his amazing understanding of what we were asking for. For the ceremony, he knew just the words to say that meant the world to us.
We also paid for the additional photos package taken by Irene. We were so impressed at her eye for capturing the most wonderful moments of that day. Just absolutely blown away. She guided us through the steps and gave suggestions that made our photos look unbelievable.
I really cannot recommend two people who will go above and beyond to make your special day come to fruition the way James and Irene did for us. We can't thank you both enough! -

Best Officiant
We luckily found James through the internet and were so glad that he was available for our wedding day.
He took the time to sit down with us over a zoom call to get to know us and our love story. He also provided great guidance in the wedding planning process as far as getting a marriage license, etc.
During the cocktail hour our guest couldn’t stop raving about what a great ceremony it was and that it was the best ceremony they’ve been apart of. James made the ceremony personal, funny and enjoyable.
Thank you James for making our day so perfect!!
We highly recommend James to anyone planning a wedding. -

GO WITH JAMES - Don't think twice
When my parents decided to sell my childhood home my husband & I decided to get married there with only 30 days notice until their closing. We reached out to James (after just googling officiants in the VB area) & he immediately contacted us back. He was so great about walking us through the licensing process & what to expect & where to go. On the day of the actual wedding I didn't have to worry about a thing - he showed up, introduced himself to my parents, & had already handled getting the rings & all of the procedural stuff without pulling me from getting ready. I expected the ceremony to be short & sweet & very "standard" & it was so much more & amazing. He put so much detail into it & really personalized it to my husband & I & just captured not only our intense attention, but also our guests. So much so ...... that my parents (my mother & step father who have been together for 20+ years) decided to call him back to marry them a week later. James is incredible. He is so personable & easy going, he feels like an instant friend. He made us feel calm & confident standing up there & he made our ceremony so special & inserted emotion in me that day I didn't expect to feel. So, don't think twice - just book James. You won't regret it. -

When we were looking for an officiant, we really wanted someone who could connect with us even though they have never met us before. James Davis did that perfectly. The way he put our story together after a brief survey and short video chart is amazing. Our family and friends asked us how long we have know James, and were shocked when we said 45 mins. They thought he had been a friend of ours that they had just never met! He made us laugh, cry, smile the biggest smile and gave us all the best goose bumps! He connected to our story and told it so beautifully. I told my husband after that if we ever did a vow renewal I would want to hire James again! -

I think we got more compliments about James than we did anything else on our wedding day. He met with us over Zoom and spoke with us at length about our story so he could craft the perfect ceremony. A good chunk of our extended family thought we were friends prior to the wedding with how well he spoke of our history! -

James was courteous, professional, flexible and punctual. Did an outstanding job with your ceremony with a little humor thrown in. SEVERAL guests remarked to me just how good he was, which I thought was unusual, but well deserved. He had my strongest possible recommendation. -

We hired James to officiant after reading his reviews and can’t recommend him enough! He had our guests laughing and crying during our ceremony, and our guests kept coming up asking how long we have known him. He went above and beyond to get our story and tell it beautifully during our ceremony. Not to mention, he performed our ceremony on his own 16th wedding anniversary! We hired Pastor Davis to officiate our wedding and he was phenomenal! Communication with him was very easy and he always got back to us quickly. He really got to know us and incorporated that into our ceremony. He included our story of how we met, how our relationship progressed, and our engagement so beautifully. He included a bit of religion, just like we asked. I can't think of anything else to say other than he was outstanding. We had so many people ask us about our officiant and comment that he did an amazing job and everyone loved him! We forgot to get our vow books back from him, and the day after we asked him about it, he put them in the mail back to us. He is absolutely amazing. If you're looking for the perfect wedding Pastor/Officiant, look no further! -

Great Experience
Our ceremony was personal, heartfelt, funny, entertaining, and really expressed who we are as a couple. Working with James was simple and pleasant - we had a zoom meeting where he got to know us and learn our story, and the day-of went off without a hitch. I would recommend not only James, but his recommended vendors as well. The whole team (James, Irene Davis Photography, and DJ Larry D) worked together seamlessly and made our day easy and fun, all while working with our budget. Highly recommend! -

Pastor James knocked our ceremony out of the park!!! He brought every detail about our love story to life so much so that guests were saying how they got to know us more from Pastor James. We still have guests contacting us wanting to know who our Pastor was and how it was hands down the best ceremony they've ever attended because of him!
