    Professional and punctual

    Driver transported all guests safely and on time both to the venue and back to the hotels. Easy planning on the phone prior to the event.

    Fantastic, quality transportation

    We hired James River to transport our wedding guests from the hotel to our venue, and back again. The bus was clean and the driver polite. They arrived on time and transported everyone safely with each journey. The booking process was smooth and simple. I highly recommend.

    Fantastic and easy to work with!

    The managers at James River Transportation were very accommodating with the constant flux due to COVID! As our allowable guest count changed, they were quick to reply to our email and allowed us to continue to make changes to best fit our needs. The drivers were very nice, on time, and did a great time about reaching out to us when they were ready. Highly recommend for peace of mind!

    So responsive to a special request!

    James River Transportation did a great job getting our guests from the hotel to the wedding and back again. On time, polite, clean car and mini bus, everything was perfect. With just a week before the wedding they were able to honor a special request and take my husband (the father of the bride}, who was recovering from a serious illness, home after his dance with our daughter. Thank you so much for helping my husband enjoy our daughter's wedding and get home safely to rest!

    Wonderful and easy to work with from start to finish

    My husband and I used James River Transportation as the transportation company for our wedding. We used them for two types of transportations; a coach bus for the attendees and one shuttle-limo for the wedding party.

    They were wonderful to work with. We had a few last minute changes and they were great with accommodating us. In addition, the driver of the limo waited for the wedding party so that we could all go change after the wedding and dropped us off at a nearby bar! That was not planned, but he was kind enough to work with us. Thank you guys! You were fantastic from start to finish!

    Excellent experience

    JRT was easy to communicate with regarding our timeline, and was at every location that they needed to be early, ensuring that our guests were able to get to the ceremony, reception, and back to their hotels without issue. The drivers were extremely professional and communicated effectively with our day-of coordinator.

    We reserved two buses for our wedding, to take our guests to and from the venue. The buses were on time, clean, and were just right for the number of guests we had. Our contacts were speedy in getting back to us about questions and timelines. We would recommend James River Transportation to anyone looking to hire some transportation for a wedding.

    JRT is timely was timely and professional. They met all of our wedding day transportation needs and acted as if there was not a hurricane happening on our wedding day. Would recommend to any bride or groom or anyone in need of transportation services in the Richmond area!

    James River provided our shuttle service to and from the venue and did an excellent job. They are timely, responsive and really helped make sure our guests were safe and comfortable. Thanks for all you do!

    Solid transportation company for wedding shuttles

    We had a venue with a relatively narrow gravel driveway, so our initial booking of a larger shuttle bus ended up being infeasible. Kizzy and the team at James River Transportation worked very hard to find a solution to accommodate us, which ended up as three smaller shuttles running throughout the night - which worked perfectly! The shuttle drivers were kind, professional, and timely, and were available throughout the night as some of our older guests wanted to leave early after dinner concluded. At times, the company could be challenging to get ahold of via email or phone as we led up to the wedding date, but always resolved our questions or concerns with kindness and flexibility. We would recommend their services.

    Trolley Time

    We had a blast on the trolley post wedding! We enjoyed some prosecco and music while enroute to our backup photo location. Our driver was the sweetest and did her best to get us everywhere safely. She explained it was her first day driving this bigger trolley so she was driving carefully, I so appreciate that honesty! Great job shuttling us around! We definitely recommend them for your transportation needs.

    We had a great driver on our wedding day!! He allowed us to keep my wedding dress & the bridesmaid dresses in the limo while we got our hair & make-up done. We also had a fun time in the limo and they offered champagne glasses.

    Over a 3-day period we used small van, exec coach for events then Town Car for getaway (good value there). Great service. One driver unsure of directions, so that was a little blip, but overall would use them again for sure. So courteous.

    Wedding shuttle and limo

    They provided us with transportation shuttle from both of our hotels to the wedding venue. They were suppose to pick me (the bride) up first to drop off but when no one was outside they left to the next hotel. I was not happy about this but fortunately I had assigned someone to this and they took care of it, before I even knew about it, and had the shuttle back to me within 10 mins. Other than that they were great. The quality of their vehicles were great. I just wished we used our limo longer. Overall, our experience was good.

    After booking with James River Transportation for two 55+ person chartered motor coaches for my wedding, they performed a site visit. They took photos, and said all looked good to them. I put down a deposit on each motor coach. Prior to the final payment date, and a month before my wedding, I reached out to see if they needed additional info from me, or if they would just directly withdraw the remainder I owed. I was then informed the charters were CANCELED. James River Transportation had not provided written documentation stating that the contract was canceled, never told my venue's point of contact at the site visit, and never refunded my deposit: how would I ever know that they canceled? Only when I pointed this out did they spring into action to return my deposit (which they would have kept as they had for the last six months since they "canceled" with me). A negative experience leaving me high and dry, scrambling to find a new transportation company less than a month before my holiday weekend wedding. I do appreciate that the president of the company responded to me, and let me know that he admits that there was "VERY poor communication" on his company's part.

    I had a contract with James River Transportation for a shuttle bus from the hotel to my wedding and back again. Their representative was not responsive and did not always return my mom's calls and emails. My mom had to repeatedly call to confirm things with her and make changes. Service was poor. On the day of my wedding the shuttle did not show up at the hotel. The dispatcher just never sent the shuttle. My guests had to quickly hop into their cars or a taxi to get to the wedding. One group did not make it and missed the beginning of our ceremony. I would NEVER recommend this company to any one for any event.
