Janis was the photographer in my wedding in November 2017. She did such an incredible job, we are STILL talking about what a blessing it was to have her there. We had a pre-meeting because I hadn't met her before, and Janis was so professional and helpful, I knew we would get along great. She gave some meaningful advice to think about before the wedding, and made a checklist of must-have photos for the big day. That was incredibly helpful the day of! For example, she looked up sunset times before we met to discuss. It helped me realize if we waited until the ceremony to see each other, everything would be dark! We decided to have a "first look" instead, which was also helpful to not rush after the ceremony. I didn't have a coordinator other than what came with the venue, and while I was overwhelmed, Janis was extremely professional, courteous, and super helpful in getting people together to get group photos we had discussed. She had such a positive and upbeat attitude, and made sure everything was just how I wanted! She helped the day go smoothly, I appreciated her attention to detail, and the best part is the photos turned out EXCEPTIONAL. The lighting was perfect, photos weren't blurry, and she captured every wonderful aspect of my special day. She even captured some moments I missed in the moment. And she was fast!! If I could do it again I would absolutely go with Janis and I hope to work with her more in life's exciting events!Janis was the photographer in my wedding in November 2017. Janis Foley Photography is AMAZING!!!! We got the most beautiful pictures of our beach wedding- even more gorgeous than I could have imagined. She was referred to us by our officiant- Reverand Tuttle with Elope to San Diego. Although we live out of the state, the wedding came together perfectly. She captured so many special moments- in shots that you can honestly just FEEL the love and connection. She was very lighthearted and personable, and very talented in her photography. I absolutely highly recommend.Janis Foley Photography is AMAZING!!!! We got the most beautiful pictures of our beach wedding- even more gorgeous than I could have imagined. I cannot put into words how grateful I am that we found Janis. Not only did our photos come out AMAZING (and geez- she took soooo many of them!) but her positive enthusiasm really added to both our wedding and our engagement. It was really important to me to have vendors that gave us good juju throughout the day (because apparently I'm a hippy :P) and Janis went above and beyond. And man... she caught moments I wouldn't have ever thought to have asked for, including a surprise gift from my father to his son in law that nobody saw coming.
It was truly a privilege having Janis shoot our engagement photos and our wedding and I will definitely be using her for anything else we can convince her to photograph in our lives. We highly recommend Janis as a photographer for your special occasion. We Loved our photos she took of our recent wedding!! We planned our wedding out of state and she was very helpful with recommendations and quick to respond to any questions. She is very personable, professional, creative and she captured our ideas from Pinterest, too. We received our photos so quickly and were amazed with the special moments she captured of us!We highly recommend Janis as a photographer for your special occasion. I can honestly say that our wedding would not have been the same if it weren't for Janis. Good photography is a huge deal to both my husband and I. It's all about capturing those special moments in life and being able to look back on wonderful memories.
Originally, we had another photographer do our engagement photos and when we go the edits back, I was devastated. I was not happy at all and really didn't know what to do. Considering how unhappy I was with the engagement photos, I just didn't want the same person to do the actual wedding shots. It was so bad that my then fiance and I didn't even seem like we were a couple - there was no personality in any of the shots!
Luckily, we found Janis!! Janis is AMAZING! She made us feel so comfortable during the engagement shoot. I loved how she would tell us how to pose and how she paid great attention to detail. She was able to capture who we are as a couple and our love really showed through the photos. Her photos are artistic and she's all about getting those perfect shots, while putting the client first. I am so happy that we were able to have her as our photographer.
I am so sad that it's all over, but I know that we will definitely be requesting her again to capture other milestones and memories. Wonderful Photos & Amazing Experience
I've known Janis from a professional standpoint for about 10 years, she has always been amazing to work with. When my cousin got married, I suggested they hire Janis for their reception photography. She did an AMAZING job, the photos really captured the fun and the beauty of the event. Their couple photos are SO PRETTY! They look so perfect. Also, she went above and beyond making sure she got everyone's photos the entire night, and she delivered the best gallery ever! Everyone who has seen it has been so impressed. GREAT ! TOTALLY RECOMMEND, from both a wedding vendor perspective and now a client too!I've known Janis from a professional standpoint for about 10 years, she has always been amazing to work with. Janis Foley is an extremely talented photographer! She is VERY kind and helpful and makes you feel SO comfortable on such a special day. She went above and beyond in making me feel comfortable and was so helpful in making sure we received the pictures, as well as my family and friends.
We were very impressed with our pictures, crystal clear and perfect! My family and friends were so excited, too! They said they have never seen such beautiful pictures.
My Aunt was trying to retrieve the pictures online and had trouble with her computer. Janis was kind enough to figure out the problem and go step by step...she always responded to my questions (yes, a nervous bride) with kindness and professionalism. Trying to plan a destination wedding is both exciting and frightening, because you really don’t know much about your officiant, hair or make-up artist, or your photographer. I had no need to worry. The weather was perfect, the officiant made us feel we had known him for years, the hair and make-up stylist was awesome, and Janis Foley brought it all together in some beautiful, lasting memories!
She instantly made us all feel very relaxed and right at home. She is warm, kind, very funny, and she takes the most awesome pictures! I am so glad the name Janis Foley was recommended to us, and I will never hesitate to recommend her to anyone needing a professional photographer who has the natural ability to capture those most precious moments. Janis Foley is an awesome photographer. She is very professional at what she does and at the same time she knows how to have fun with the camera. My husband and I are personally shy when it comes to smiling at a camera; however, Janis made us both feel very comfortable in front of the camera by just being herself - friendly and outgoing. Janis Foley provided awesome wedding photography services for our wedding, going above and beyond to get great photos. We had an outdoor afternoon wedding, with an indoor reception that went into the evening. The variety of lighting from afternoon, to sunset, to evening, to night and from outdoor to indoor usually causes havoc for photographers (some of my friends ended up with a lack of evening photos from their receptions, and the ones they did get were very dark or off-colored), but ours turned out absolutely stunning. And trust me, we aren't the naturally photogenic sort. Janis climbed through the foliage and managed to silently move around the wedding site, getting some perspectives that we never knew she shot until we saw the pictures. She spoke with us before hand and planned out the sorts of photos we wanted (in terms of posed versus photo-journalistic), and made sure she got a list of non-typical photos that we might want with special guests. She was very accommodating with our crazy work schedules, meeting us on short notice when we had availability. She was very accommodating with our desire to not have the bride and groom see each other until the wedding, shooting separate shots before the ceremony. She also was great at getting creative with the wedding venue, as it had rained the day before and we had to change some of the outdoor photos sites as they were muddy. With a great sense of humor, she managed to keep even the crankiest bridesmaid in good spirits through the hour of photos (the cocktail hour for everyone else), and expertly managed both the crowds of people and the time. I think we were the only people in our group of friends to actually hold to our wedding schedule and not take more than the allotted time on photos. By bringing a secondary photographer with her to the wedding, we got plenty of coverage and several perspectives. We were VERY pleased with Janis' work. She was super-friendly and easy to work with, and even the guests and the venue manager remarked on how much fun she was. She made sure to find out what was important to us so she could focus on what we wanted. Janis is always available by cell phone and email, so whenever we had a question we had an answer right away. She has clearly been doing this a long time, and her work shows it. Our current problem is narrowing down the great shots to an album. There are too many incredible ones to choose from. For some people her prices may cause some sticker shock, but we found her worth every penny and then some.We were VERY pleased with Janis' work. She imediately started snapping pictures and had great ideas of how to get the perfect shot every time. She was brilliant with the lighting, the sunset and my wife in her dress. By the time we were done with the ceremony, Janice guided us through our own private photo shoot right on the beach. We had a blast, laughing, goofing around and she just made it SO much fun. She spent alot of extra time with us and took so many photos with multiple cameras. Janice takes the time to develop the photos so that they all turn out perfect, when we got them from her on a disk we had them developed and they turned out amazing. We have so many pictures for the price we paid it's crazy. I suggest listening to the ideas Janice has for certain shots and if you just go with the flow you will not be disappointed. We recomend Janice for any photos you may need. Thanks Janice, we love you.

Janis is great. Her work online is amazing! I just got married last week, so we haven't seen our photos yet but I can't wait! She was so patient and very knowledgeable! My husband HATES photos but he hung in there for Janis. She made the time go by quickly and kept him involved. She was very professional but not stuffy. When I scheduled my appointment with Janis my Husband and I wanted to be in and out of the office asap. It was important to us to meet with other Photographers so we did not want to attach ourselves to anyone. Vendors are Vendors and in my opinion employees of mine. We brought our Son and Dog along with us assuming we would only be in her office, for our initial meeting, for just a few minutes. Instead we stayed and talked with her for 2.5 hours. When she went out to get her business card for us my Husband looked at me and said "Hire her, today, now." I smiled and said "You got it Honey."
When we wanted to shoot our engagement photos at the San Diego County Fair, Janis was excited and more than accomidating. We shot photos for hours not because we paid for the time but because we were all having so much fun at the Fair.
We had planned a large wedding with over 250 guests and two months prior to the wedding canceled it. Changed plans and gave Janis a weeks notice on where the wedding would take place.
Janis took everything in stride and never once complained about anything. She was wonderful in shooting our wedding. Our photos are absolutely BEAUTIFUL! She captured our non-traditional, relaxed, and unstructured day perfectly. We asked our guests to stand around us while we took our vows. Janis took this in stride as well and captured our Family and our special moments beautifully. She also took the last picture of my Father In Law before he died. We are so thankful for that photo because he was happy, smiling, and healthy on our special day.
If you are looking for a photographer who is passionate about what she does Janis is your woman. She will make everyone relaxed enough to enjoy the day. She fades into the moment and captures it wonderfully.

Janis is friendly, professional, has very high energy, and great photographer! Our wedding photos were so nice and we got so many compliments on them. It is very important to choose a good photographer for your wedding because regardless of the imperfections that happen that day (there is at least one in every wedding no matter how hard you work to make it perfect) pictures are the only thing that stays forever and if your photographer is good, you will have wonderful beautiful photos to share with your kids!!Janis is friendly, professional, has very high energy, and great photographer!
