Jessica was absolutely amazing to work with. My now husband and I are both pretty camera shy but she immediately made us more comfortable. She had a very chill personality and was able to put us exactly where she needed us and we got absolutely amazing pictures. My jaw was dropped! She was also an awesome presence to have on the day of the wedding. From being hype girl to just straight up getting things done, I loved having her there are we couldn’t have been happier. Such a professional and a joy to work with. 10/10 recommend Jessica Hill. -

There’s a reason Jessica Hill is consistently voted one of Oregon’s best wedding photographers! Her photographs are stunning, she’s a true professional, and just an all-around awesome person who we were grateful for leading up to and on our big day.
My wife and I had the pleasure of having Jessica capture both our engagement shoot (October 2021) and wedding (October 2022). As expected, the Portland weather didn’t exactly play nice, but Jessica wasn’t fazed, timing our moments through the rain, and hustling for every angle. She straight up climbed into a boat on the waterfront to capture our favorite picture from our engagement shoot. She perfectly captured the vibe of our wedding as well. We were aiming for timeless, city chic, and she 100% delivered, shooting us in a way that could have come from any era, that didn’t feel static or formulaic. I’m a crier, but absolutely teared up at both our engagement and wedding photos, at the way she captured our emotions and love. I could go on and on about the photos, her portfolio speaks for itself… a photo is worth a thousand words, right? Jessica’s pictures write full novels.
More important than the product, Jessica made my wife and I feel incredibly comfortable. We’re both introverted but she made us feel playful and fully ourselves. As a same-sex couple, we were also particular about finding someone who wouldn’t just be respectful but direct and pose us in an authentic way, which she did from the start.
Lastly what sets Jessica head and shoulders above the rest, is her intuition and awareness of so much more than what’s in the viewfinder. One moment that stands out to me, is when I had a few relatives insisting on joining pictures that they weren’t meant to be part of. Jessica picked up on it right away, gave me a subtle look, and tactfully sent them on their way, taking stress off my shoulders as a bride. And just being the kind human she is, she loaned me socks when I forgot mine for my reception shoe change– though I don’t think this is included in her photo packages lol.
We called audibles, made last minute changes, even added a surprise guest, waded through the stress and tension at times, but Jessica was steady, flexible, and calming throughout.
Honestly, whenever we were in her hands, we felt most at ease in the chaos of the big day. She’s exactly the presence you want in those moments, neither a distraction nor liability, a complete professional and incredible photographer.
10/10, hiring Jessica was probably the best decision we made for our wedding and we could not recommend her enough! -

Jessica has taken photos for my cousins' weddings and that was how I know of Jessica. I reached out to her during my wedding planning process, and she was super helpful. We started off with a conversation over email and set a time and date to talk and discuss through Zoom. Jessica is extremely patient and professional! She knows what she is doing. We had our engagement photos at the beach, and she made us feel so comfortable during the whole shoot. She was so patient with our dog as well. Jessica captured every little detail of our wedding even photos we didn't thought of. Jessica is well worth it! Highly recommend Jessica!!Jessica Hill Photography's reply:

Jess has now shot two weddings for us and our engagement photos. She is super professional and super talented. From planning to the day of, she was easy to talk to, listened to what we wanted, and above all, delivered amazing photos of our two very different weddings. Jessica Hill is an absolute DREAM to work with. I hired her for our engagement shoot, wedding photography and even a boudoir shoot as a gift for my fiancée on the wedding day through her other business Peekaboo! I seriously can not imagine my wedding day without her, and I am so in awe of all of the photos she has captured for us. They are all absolutely beautiful, and she really takes the time to get to know you as individuals and as a couple, and brings so much joy to everything she does. Jessica is truly incredible. Her photographs speak for themselves, and her eye and ability to capture a moment is unmatched. Her artistry is apparent in every photo she takes. However, it's the command she has while doing the photo shoots, the control of the room and her subjects, her ability to see things others would miss (a wrinkled shirt, a misplaced tie, the perfect placement of dress), and her professionalism that takes everything she does to the next level. My wedding jitters calmed as soon as she showed up to the bridal suite for getting ready photos and the rest of the day melted into a blur of happy memories from then on forward. She captured the essence of the emotion of our day and we are so thrilled with the finished product!

User2441935 Sent on 11/24/2015Choosing a photographer for us was just as important as purchasing our wedding bands. After several interviews and research, we chose Jessica Hill Photography. Would not have gone any other way.
Jessica has this contagious spirit and energy about her. It was important that we jived well and could be around this person for hours. Nailed it - we good.
Jessica’s professionalism and expertise was clearly demonstrated from the beginning. Her style of communication while also knowing when to listen to the client was a perfect mix that worked well.
We loved the online portal and easy of use of being able to simply access correspondence, payment records and contract terms. Honestly, vendors that don’t have this type of setup need to catchup with the rest of the pack. From a client experience standpoint, its a no-brainer.
You want a photographer that is talented, respectful, asks the right questions and knows when to user their intuition and make the decision that needs to be made. As many told us, the hours went by like minutes on our wedding day. Before we knew it was time to walk down the aisle. Jessica’s calm, easy-going nature made the entire day stress free.
We received several comments from our friends and family saying how great our photographer was and how she did a great job at disguising herself by blending in with the celebration. There was no obvious “Hi, I’m the photographer - can I take your picture?” moments. Thank goodness.
We loved how Jessica knew when to pull one of us aside at the appropriate moment to ask us a question on our wedding day. When we refer to intuition, this is what we are talking about. Knowing when the right moment is. Isn’t that a big part of photography anyways? Capturing that moment.
There’s no surprise that Jessica is talented. When we received the email with the subject line “You’re on the blog”, gleeful text messages were fired off -

Christine Sent on 06/17/2013Jessica and her team did an absolutely amazing job photographing my wedding in September 2011. My pictures are so dreamy and beautiful, and she really captured the emotion of the day. Our only challenge was narrowing down the images because there were so many good ones!! On top of all of this, Jessica traveled to DC (where we lived during our engagement) to do our engagement shoot. Those pics are perfect snapshot of our happy times living in DC and they really show our personalities. She is also SO much fun to work with, and helped make our big day a blast. Jessica's services and albums are on the higher end of the price scale (at least for Portland), but I'd say it's worth it. She's the best!
