User2157207 Sent on 06/01/2015I loved working with JoAnn, who has a wonderful personality and was very professional and easy to work with! She came out to my home for a trial and then came to our hotel with another associate for the day of, when she did bride's hair and makeup and then 3 bridesmaid's hair. I would recommend her!JoAnn M. User2346860 Sent on 10/02/2015I was very disappointed in my trial with JoAnn.
The makeup she did was not anything like what I requested, and my hair looked like my kid cousin did it.
While her prices are low, the quality was just not there.
Price is just for the trial, as I did not use her on my wedding day.JoAnn M. Romeo Makeup & Skin's reply:
Thank you for the review and I sorry to hear that you were not happy with the results. This is why I require a trial run in advance to ensure that we are on the same page for your big day. Had this information been brought to my attention at the trial run or shortly thereafter, I would have been more than happy to do another trial run until we accomplished the look that you were desiring for your event. In the past, the few clients that have been disappointed in their first trial run, I have been able to collaborate with them to achieve the perfect look. As you know, sometimes, pictures online and in magazines do not always work for everyone in person, and again why I require a trial run or multiple trial run, if needed. User1911139 Sent on 11/08/2014Upon setting up for the trial JoAnn was awesome. It all went down hill from there... Three days before the wedding, I received an email informing me that she was going to be 2 hours late due to another commitment. Then, on the day of, she charged us for services on the guys she said would be included at no cost. During the services, all she did was talk about herself and her new business. Lastly, when asking her to leave the room so I could put on my wedding dress, I had to ask THREE times before she stopped giving me excuses and left. (She still came back in after 2 minutes...). As for JoAnn's services, they are just as good as any other stylist/makeup expert. I went with her because the prices were slightly less.

Thank you for your feedback. I am very sorry that you feel like I did not meet your expectations, I always strive to set proper expectations by communicating and keep my brides in the loop prior to the event day. As I do with all of my clients, I try to explain and disclose all charges and costs of services upfront, which I believe we discussed, as I do with all of my clients prior to the event date. I know we had spoken several times, and thought that you had understood the events of the day. I take what I do very seriously and work very hard to make sure that I stay flexible and strive to give my brides everything they are needing, your wedding was no different. In the past, I have explained when there are same day changes, in services or rates, there may be additional fees. This is exactly the procedure we followed in this case and as per our contract.
On your wedding day, the happiness of the bride, is my primary concern, and I apologize that your expectations were not met. At the same time I understand you were satisfied with your overall look, and the additional skin care questions to ensure that you looked great for your wedding. I am a passionate artists and my heart is on my sleeve when I am working. However, going forward, I will certainly keep in mind the experience I had on that day and learn what I can from it.
My business is makeup and skin care, and with hundreds of brides and skin care clients, it is very rare that I have fallen short of someone’s expectations. Again, I apologize that you were unhappy and I would like to make it up to you. If you would like to discuss this matter further, please do not hesitate to contact me directly.
