    First class DJ, amazing night

    We hired Joe for our 20th anniversary vow renewal celebration. From the initial email, to meeting in person, and the follow up was a breeze. Joe had great ideas for a vow renewal since it did vary a bit from a wedding. On the day, he was early to set up to be ready to go for the ceremony. He kept things on track for the night. Do not hesitate to hire Joe for your party, wedding, or get together.

    DJ Joe was a true professional and wonderful DJ for our recent wedding. From the moment we met Joe and his lovely wife, my husband and I knew we wanted to work with him. He has extensive experience and knowledge, and is really calming throughout the planning process. When you hire Joe, you feel like you're working with family, someone who is truly invested in your event. He made us feel special and very well taken care of- that can get lost when working with wedding vendors. Throughout the planning process we adjusted timing quite a few times and Joe went with the flow- again, so easy to work with. He made our day so much fun, our guests danced all night! Thank you Joe :)

    DJ Joe did my wedding and reception music. He is a true professional. He met with me several times to discuss all the details. I would highly recommend him for any event!

    I've gotten to work with Joe on several occasions and he is phenomenal! Very professional, knows his music, and really knows how to liven a party with games and music! He is a fantastic DJ and a great benefit to any event!

    My husband and I chose Joe for our Reception and I am so glad we did. He was very professional, between emails, text and calls he always responded in a timely manner. I never felt I had to worry or stress about anything.

    The Reception itself was wonderful...we gave him a music list with our requested songs and he played as many as he could in the time we had. :) He always made it a point to keep us in the loop as to what was going to come up next based on the "itinerary" we gave him.

    & lastly friends and family that are very conservative and don't dance...DID! People I never thought I would see dancing, were out on the dance floor.

    Joe did an amazing job! From offering to help set up and take down the decorations at the Reception to the actual DJ-ing...It was a great night & I HIGHLY RECOMMEND his services!

    DJ Joe was just fantastic!

    We hired him for our outdoor wedding in Flagstaff. Not only did he come completely prepared for our outdoor scene but he was also willing to work around all our last minute changes that had come up! Im so glad we hired him for our wedding!
    He was so easy to work with and everything I sent him, he was able to make it all happen perfectly!
    Everyone from our wedding was raving about how nice and fun Joe was and how perfect the whole party turned out!
    We couldn't have done it without him!
    He made our wedding truly stress-free and completely special!!

    Thank you so much Joe for all that you did for our perfect day!!

    Joe did an amazing job as DJ for my wedding! It was in a backyard and he was extremely flexible and able to work with everything and everyone. He did a great job giving me recommendations, up to the day of the wedding in fact! I am pretty laid back and did not do a ton of planning; he managed to create an amazing wedding (ceremony and reception) based off a small playlist I provided him. He was extremely friendly and professional and made the day go very smoothly (both the ceremony and reception). I would highly recommend him to family and friends. He remained calm and knew when to step in! :)

    I was extremely impressed with DJ Joe Martin. He was fantastic. Our reception was absolutely perfect, our guests danced the whole time and we had so much fun. The music was everything we wanted and we wanted to play a few games and DJ Joe had some fantastic ideas that turned out awesome. We loved it. He was the perfect DJ. We will definitely use him again for my sister's weddings. :)

    Joe Martin is amazing. His knowledge of music and what keeps people dancing is truly impressive. I was MOH at my friends wedding (March 2013) and helped her choose the DJ, when meeting Joe we were impressed with is professionalism and experience. We asked for some obscure songs in advance (1940s swing, and a few youtube artisits) and on the the wedding day he had them! and the correct versions too! His communciations prior to the event were timely and comprehensive, he ensured we knew exactly what to expect. We even had a few last minute changes on the day of and he was open to adjustment and pulled it off beautifully. At no point was he hurried or anxious, in fact his calm was calming to the rest of us. He also serves as master of ceremeonies as a part of his DJ duties and kept the evenings activities flowing perfectly. I reccomend Joe very much. He shows up with all the correct equipment (including a laser light show!) and dressed in a tux! He will truly make your event wonderful.

    Joe is an incredible DJ! Our wedding day was a true success because of all his efforts. From our Ceremony to our Reception, he played all our music selections, introduced our friends of the bridal party to a cheering crowd of family & friends, entertained our guests throughout the evening - we didn't have to worry about any of the details, his smooth style and nature were a hit of our family! Truly worth our money invested for all the fun memories. Thank you so much Joe! We will recommend you to all our friends up here at NAU who will be getting married soon.

    DJ Joe Martin was truly our BEST investment for our Wedding Day! He came helped our family set up the tent, lighted it with up lighting, set up our gazebo for the ceremony, and coordinated our entire bridal party through every step of the way....OUTSTANDING! Our reception was the best party ever! Joe played ALL our requests & kept us dancing until the very end!

    I'm still getting compliments about the music selections played at our wedding-- and from such diverse groups! Every aspect of DJ Joe's services went off without a hitch, from lighting to sound. Not to mention he made sure my guests felt involved and had a good time (sing for your dinner.... um, yes please!). :-)
    Definitely the best DJ out there! Thanks DJ Joe Martin!

    I was very satisfied with Joe's service. He was able to keep a very nice flow throughout the evening. He kept it very classy and elegant.

    I loved the music he chose and also that he made sure to ask me before he played music that was requested by somebody else. I was also very grateful for the game or entertainment suggestions he gave me prior to the wedding.

    All night I didnt have to worry about entertainment, music or talking at all. I was positively surprised and very satisfied. Many thanks to Joe for adding another piece to my perfect dream wedding!

    Joe is a great DJ, he did exactly what we wanted, played exactly what we asked for, and even went above our expectations, asking us throughout the night if we needed anything. Having Joe at our wedding was great and I highly recommend him to anyone looking for a DJ.

    Joe was friendly, played music that our guests loved, and easily found all of the specific songs we requested (some of which are less common). When our best man’s toast went a bit long, he playfully ran the Jeopardy theme song, making everyone laugh. My husband’s brother requested a song that likely would have fallen on our “do not play” list, but Joe knew we would appreciate the intended joke, so he played part of it for our amusement, cutting it off in a tasteful and humorous way. Joe did a great job of understanding what we wanted, and still catering to our guests.

    Joe was a fantastic DJ! He helped our event run smoothly, he was a great MC. He provided mics for our officiant and for the speeches. He was easy to work with, and a fun person.
    My only complaint would be that he wasnt very responsive, it would take him a day or so to respond via email, which was a little annoying. He was, however, very responsive with phone calls.
    Joe came to us first if someone requested a song under a genre we didnt want played. Our event went very smoothly thanks to him!
    He is funny, fairly organized, and great at what he does!

    I'm not the type to expect perfection, I know people have flaws. We met with Joe and talked about what we would like to do for our wedding. He wrote a lot down, so we were feeling good about what we had set up. My wife sent him the songs we had chosen for all the key points of the reception (bridal party entry, our entry, our first dance, our last dance, etc.). Joe showed up early, got set up, and was playing ambient music in no time. Everything was great up to this point.

    Once the reception started, though, it kind of went down hill. I'm not sure if he was not prepared, or what, but he missed his cue on the song my wife and I entered to. There was a long, awkward pause while he found our first dance song. He said "would you like to invite your bride to the dance floor?" So we walked up to the dance floor, and he started playing a slow song for us to dance to-- thing is, it was not our first dance song. In the middle of our dance, he switched it to the right one. Another issue with all of this: he never announced the first dance. The invitation to dance was his "announcement" and because of this, a lot of people had no idea what was going on, and were just socializing throughout the dance. I was very disappointed by this.

    We did a longevity dance as well, he announced it and started it. Everything started good, and then he said "we would like to thank you for joining us on the dance floor", before he started calling out the anniversaries for people to leave the floor (look up longevity dance if that makes no sense). He then called everyone back up, like a 'hey, we're not done yet', because people thought his previous comment was the cue to end the dance. Half the people came back up, but it was just kind of ruined at that point because everyone was confused.

    He played the 'Newlywed Game' with us, which was fun and all, but my wife specifically said that we did not want any games at the reception. We instead wanted to do a dollar dance, which he completely ignored. I was particularly angry about that-- he asked us at our initial consult if we were going to do one, and we said that yes, we definitely were. Not sure what happened there.

    The worst offense of the evening was when he announced our last dance 2 hours before we were planning to leave. He announced it, and my bride and I decided to just go along with it instead of causing a scene, because people were forming a circle around us, and it was a nice moment. He played our last dance song. The whole time, we were asking each other what the hell was going on, because no one had officially told him when we were leaving. As a result, when the dance was over, a majority of the people at the reception left, thinking we were going to leave as well. This also left us having to find another song for our "last" last dance, of which maybe a third of the people remained for after the incorrect announcement.

    As far as music selection goes, the average demographic at our wedding was in the 20's-30's. There were a lot of requests made by the bridal party and other friends that went unplayed, and a few that were requested had to be downloaded and played through my best man's iPhone. I was under the impression that Joe had current top 40 music as well, but I must have misunderstood.

    For a 5 hour reception, we paid about $900. I have a hard time not feeling ripped off when Joe seemingly missed all his cues, and didn't play really any of the music we requested. The whole reception just felt disjointed looking back at it, and it was really the only thing that I wish I could have changed about our day. It's not to say that Joe isn't a good guy, he's very nice, and I think he had good intentions. I just felt that his MC-ing of our reception was sub-par at best. There's nothing worse than the feeling of "I paid way too much." That's where we were after our wedding.
