  Using Joy's Cake Studio as our cake vendor was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. Our cake looked absolutely incredible. Joy was able to sketch and out then create a cake that was exactly what we wanted. She copied the lace style on our invitation and hand piped it on to our cake. People couldn't believe that it was all hand piped - that's how perfect it looked. I would absolutely recommend Joy's Cake Studio to anyone! She is so easy to work with and was able to take our ideas and sketch them out for us so we could see which one we liked best. The tasting was great, and we picked 2 flavors for the cake, which (according to my husband) was delicious. I have a dairy allergy, which Joy accommodated by baking some amazingly delicious dairy free cinnamon bourbon cupcakes - SO good.

  I would highly recommend Joy's Cake Studio. Not only for weddings but any other event that you want to celebrate in a big way. Her cakes helped add that wow factor for my wedding. She took my list of crazy ideas and brought them together into an amazing cake. She knew exactly what I wanted. She was friendly and easy to work with. However, the best part was my husband's reaction to his surprise groom's cake. If you are looking for someone who can do more than just your average wedding cake then Joy's Cake Studio is where you should go!

  Joy's was great! Joy did our cupcake tower with a cake on top, a birthday cake, and a grooms-cake. We continue to get compliments on how delicious the cake was for our wedding! She was super easy to work with and provided ideas to fulfill our desired theme. Overall, we couldn’t have asked for a better cake vendor and look forward to working with her in the future!

Due to how incredibly delicious everything was, it was GONE by the end of the night, not a crumb left. Luckily, Joy was sweet enough to package up cake pops and two cupcakes for us at the end of the night. Highly recommend!

  Joy's cakes are amazing! She was incredibly helpful and easy to work with, she even sketched a picture of what the cake would look like during our initial consultation. Her cake flavors are delicious and fresh and she is a true artist. I hope to be a customer of hers for a long time to come!

  Joy did our wedding cake and our wedding cupcakes. They were so tasty and the cake looked gorgeous! Our cupcakes were moist and tasty and everyone loved them. Joy was able to create the cake and cupcakes in our wedding colors and she even added real flowers on the cake when I forgot to ask the flrist for them. She was so professional and was able to make a gluten-free cake for my husband. She was wonderful!

  I can't say enough about Joy or her cakes! We only met once in person and that was for the cake tasting but she maintained constant contact through email. My husband and I elected to have a cupcake tower for our wedding with a small top cake for cutting. The flavors were delicious! We chose Apple cupcakes with Salted Caramel frosting, and Marble cupcakes with Mocha frosting. All were decorated with edible leaves in fall colors. She also did a small separate ladybug cupcake for my best friend since it was also her birthday the day of our wedding. We got so many compliments on how gorgeous the cupcakes looked and how delicious they were. I will most definitely use Joy again if I ever need cupcakes or a cake for a special occasion!

  Joy did my wedding cake, dessert table and the design for the dessert table. She is a pleasure to work with, very responsive with emails. What I appreciate the most were her affordable prices without compromising taste and quality of service. Joy was very responsive to emails, and with a background in art, she can practically do anything you can think of. She is the most creative person I have worked with. My wedding cake was moist, delicious and my guest wanted seconds. It says volume when there is no cake leftover. I would recommend Joy for all your cake and bakery needs. She will not disappoint and you will be hook for life! I cant imagine working with another baker because Joy is all you would want and more.

  My husband and I got our wedding cake from Joy's Cake Studio. Joy was wonderful to work with. She spent a lot of time with us going over designs and cake options. The best part was the cake tasting though. Joy's cakes are not only beautiful, but they are also super delicious! Our wedding cake was so pretty and the design was just what I wanted.

  Joy created a fantastic groom's cake for my rehearsal dinner. I met with her and told her that I thought it would be cute to design an alien-themed cake to surprise my fiance at the rehearsal and what she created was amazing! It was beautifully done, hilarious, and best of all, it tasted great. I'm so glad I found Joy and would recommend her to anyone!!

  WOW!!! Joy is the best Cake Baker in Northern VA. I haven't talked to her since the wedding, so I hope she reads this review. Our cake was the BEST CAKE ever and everyone at our wedding raved about it. The flavors we got were:
  - Chocolate Kahula (I think that was the name)
  - Rum Cake
  
  I surprised my husband with a grooms' cake last minute and Joy handled the request like a pro. See my gallary for a pic of his SRT Viper Cake. My husband is very picky on the details and she did the cake Perfectly!!! He loved it and I had her use his favorite cake - Red Velvet.
  
  Since I was having a bunch of other desserts, Joy was the ONLY baker I found willing to do 2 tiers in styrofoam. This saved us a BUNCH of money and I'm forever greateful for her working with us. Her prices are amazing and her cake is just as bad ass. For our 1 year anniversary, we want to come back and have her make us a small cake again :)

  Joy created the perfect wedding cake for our October wedding. The tasting that she provided remains our favorite part of wedding planning. It was hard to decide on one of the amazing flavors, so we ended up getting two different flavors for our three-tiered cake. We chose the chocolate with buttercream and pumpkin with orange cream cheese. I would also highly recommend the raspberry with lemon. We didn't want a cake with fondant because we don't like the taste and we wanted cascading leaves instead of flowers. Joy created a sketch from our ideas that was exactly what I had envisioned, then she created a cake that was more beautiful that I could have imagined. My husband and I both have very opinionated grandmothers, and they both gave the cake their highest compliments. Joy was extremely easy to work with and very reasonably priced. She has a talent for making a cake that not only looks beautiful, but is also delicious. I want to get married again so I can get another cake!

  All I can say is Joy is AMAZING!! She was so wonderful to work with. She came to my house for our cake tasting. She brought good size pieces of cake for us to try. I love that she also makes her own fondant. Another reason why her cakes taste so good! Once we picked out what we wanted for our cake, we worked on the design. I gave her some ideas of what I wanted and she came up with an amazing design! The best part was the groom’s cake she made. My husband is a pro. Boxer and so I wanted her to make a grooms cake that looked like his boxing gloves. She took some pictures of his gloves and went home to draw up a design. When she showed me a picture of what she came up with, I Loved it. But when I saw the cake the day of the rehearsal dinner, I was floored. It was better than I could ever imagine! I could not stop smiling! When he saw it, he couldn't not believe it was a cake. Everyone was taking so many pictures of this totally amazing cake. I had a hard time when it came to cutting the cake, but it was worth it because it also tasted out of this world!! Both cakes Joy made for our wedding were the most amazing looking cakes and tasted so good as well! I love food so it was important that the cake tasted as good as it looked and she nailed it! I would recommend Joy to anyone looking to have a cake that everyone will talk about. Next time I need a cake for an event I know who I will be calling!!

I love the fact that her cake recipes were her own and that she was so accommodating to my design. Joy made us a lovely three layered cake and cupcakes directly as we talked about in our walkthrough. One of the benefits of working with a professional is delivery was on time and our entire guest loved the cake and cupcakes. The only bad part is we barely tasted any of the cake because my dad and sister ate our slices and the guest finished all the cupcakes before we could taste them.   I highly recommend Joy to design your personalized cake for any special occassion. I hired her to design my wedding cake and also a unique birthday cake. She was originally recommended to me by a friend, and she definitley lived up to and exceeded expectations. She was very easy to work with, and I was very impressed with how well she sketched up multiple cake design options for me to view so that we could determine the style I liked best.   I highly recommend Joy to design your personalized cake for any special occassion. I hired her to design my wedding cake and also a unique birthday cake. She was originally recommended to me by a friend, and she definitley lived up to and exceeded expectations. She was very easy to work with, and I was very impressed with how well she sketched up multiple cake design options for me to view so that we could determine the style I liked best.   Joy was great to work with. She asked me all the right questions to determine exactly what I wanted and presented several sketches to choose from. She also has a wide variety of yummy flavors for the cakes. She made everything so easy and I didn't have to worry about a thing in the midst of the rest of the wedding planning. She also made an awesome grooms cake of the 17th hole at TPC Sawgrass for my golf loving husband! The cakes arrived in perfect condition and were gorgeous! The guests devoured them and we didn't have a crumb left over. Joy is so talented and I would trust her to make a cake for me for any occasion - she's amazing!

  Friends referred us to Joy and we do the same with others. I initially wanted Georgetown cupcakes for our wedding, but didn't want to deal with the logistics of getting them to my rural Virginia wedding location. I am so glad now that I heard about Joy because she offered so much more. I gave her the theme and ideas for what we were looking for and she artistically presented us with some wonderful taste/decoration combinations that really worked for us! Not only was our tasting experience incredible, but she was such a blessing to meet and work with. The "icing on the cake" was her free delivery within 25 miles. Her staff delivered everything beautifully and coordinated it all (perhaps with my day-of coordinator) in a way that I was never bothered, but instead simply delighted with great wedding cake/cupcakes exactly as we ordered.
  The only reason that I could not rate the quality a 5 is because the one cupcake I ate at my reception was slightly lacking on moisture (was only a tad bit dry), but my guests are still raving about the cupcakes!!!
