  Junior and all of his team were so professional and I could not recommend them enough. All communications before the wedding was responded to very quickly even over the Christmas period. When meeting them they went over the plan and timelines. My getting ready photos I was made to feel extremely comfortable and at ease. Junior was amazing with fluffing my dress making sure it looked perfect in all pictures and even went to the effort to fix my hair back when the wind was getting too much. We got all photos back 2.5 weeks after our wedding and should receive the video in a few more weeks, the photos are edited in the exact way I requested and are exceptional quality. The team were so good with all the guests asking if they wanted any photos of themselves with partners etc. I would recommend Junior Cruz and there team to any future Kukua bride, they truly exceeded all of our expectations.

  My husband and I could not recommend this team more! They were absolutely amazing. We picked the full day package for photo and video. We received our photos just 6 days after our wedding. They were so professional but so fun! Made me feel beautiful while taking photos, made us laugh the whole time, and took part in the dancing when we pulled them in. I really feel like they did a great job at making us feel like we can relive the day through our photos!

  Punta cana wedding Feb 2025

  Junior Cruz was amazing! They responded and answered all our questions in a timely manner. They were so professional compared to other companies we tried contacting. We felt so comfortable with them since day one. Living in a different country and putting your trust in someone so far is hard but it was the best decision we made.

CSM was very professional, polite, thorough, and always replied in timely manner. He asked me for my vision, “must do” photos, any special requests, and were flexible about my ideas. We created the timeline together and he assured me that the crew knows everything we discussed.

  Videographer - Carlos Gomes : 5/5
  I can’t thank Carlos enough for being there for me during my whole wedding. He guided me through the photoshoot telling me what to do and how to stand, helped to straightened my dress and veil, hold my bouquet for me when needed. He did so much with very little time we had and was always nice and flexible to my requests! And the videos looked great! I recommend him to any bride!
  
  Photographer - Vladimir Jiminez: 1/5
  A big part of bride’s getting ready was not captured, because Vladimir arrived late. Possibly due to hotel’s security issues (he never told me the details), but I assumed if he needed to start shooting at 2pm he would arrive to the resort before that to get to the room and to set up the camera, not to show up at 2pm to the reception to start the check in process.
  He came to my room with a drone technician (DT) who I hired for the ceremony. He guided us through the “champagne” photos and took some photos of us in robes, and then did details. When I got my photos back, I realized he didn’t include wedding invitation or jewelry into the shots (except for engagement ring), even though I laid everything out for him. He took two photos of me in the dress (I didn’t even have my veil yet) and wanted to leave to the ceremony location to take photos of the location. I asked him to take a photo with my mom and informed him that we are supposed to do bridal portraits, while DT will record ceremony location with the drone. Vladimir told me that he doesn’t separate from the DT, so if DT leaves than V has to leave too. That was new to me, because in the timeline created together with CSM those 2 people were supposed to work in 2 different places for 45 minutes. I don’t know if it was a mistake of CSM or Vladimir, but I let them both go to the ceremony location, hoping that I could do some bridal shots after the ceremony (which we ended up not having time for). When I got photos back, I realized that I even don’t have a photo with my bridesmaids in the room dressed up, I have a photo only with one, as she was around when I took that photo with my mom.
  
  For the ceremony I only had one ask – to only take wide shots from the side during vows, and CSM told me he delivered this message to photographer. However, my photos ended up being their usual frontal close ups.
  Most of the ceremony shots were badly framed and weirdly cropped. Hotel’s wedding package included 15 free photos from in-house photographer. His photos of our ceremony were so much better that we ended up purchasing additional photos from them, despite already paying $4000 our own photographer from JC.
  
  During the photoshoot, I asked to take “must do” photos. Vladimir asked me to show which photos I want, proving that he didn’t see my files before, like CSM promised. The videographer helped with all the poses, while Vladimir was only talking with DT, stopping for a second to take a photo of us when we were ready with a pose.
  
  During the whole reception Vladimir was either sitting in the corner in his phone or chatting with DT. Instead of celebrating my wedding, I constantly had to get up from my table to go call him to come and take a photo of us. Sometimes I asked MC or videographer (who was always around) to fetch him for me. I felt like I have to beg for each photo!
  
  The quality of the equipment was good, but the whole gallery consists of close ups. I ended up with absolutely zero photos of all of the guests together (we only had 22 guests!). He didn’t think to offer us a photo together at any point, and at the ceremony and reception only took zoomed-in photos of the couple and our parents in the audience, no wide angle shots at all. So, we have no memory of how reception restaurant looked like or who was there at all.
  When I called him to ask to take photos of us with each table cheering with drinks, one table out of 3 he only captured partially (cutting 60% of people off), so we have no photos of those guests at the reception (see attached photos of that table that I received).
  
  Finally, I marked with “important” in the timeline photos of guests on the dancefloor. We started dancing only 10 minutes before his ending time, but he ignored us and was sitting in his phone waiting for the end of his work day. After 5 min I asked videographer (who was always somewhere near me) to go ask him to come and take some photos of us dancing. He came, took a few photos, and at 9pm sharp yelled to me goodbye from far away and left, without even approaching me to exchange a few words. I just wish he was this punctual about his start time too.
  
  I chose Junior Cruz because of good reviews and great portfolio. They have several good in-house photographers; I just didn’t get lucky with mine. So when you hire JC make sure you ask who your photographer will be.

  Honest review
  
  Used Junior Cruz for our wedding day in Punta Cana earlier this year. We chose Junior Cruz over three other photography companies as we had heard nothing but great things about them from several other couples and vendors. They seemed to be the popular, obvious choice with great reviews. Our package included photos, video with drone and a highlight video with two photographers to be present on the day.
  
  The positive’s:
  They were very responsive via email and informative in the lead up to the wedding day regarding the different packages that they offer, prices and what the day of the wedding would look like. We were also sent over a form in the lead up to the wedding day where we could let them know our requirements and any other specific details. They were also flexible when we wanted to add a highlight video to our package last minute. The highlight video turned out amazing, they did a really good job at capturing the best moments of the entire day and compressing it down to three minutes with our chosen song. It was an incredibly hot humid evening on the wedding day and the photographers did a great job at persevering in the heat.
  
  The negatives:
  Unfortunately, we feel our vision of our wedding photographs was just not executed. We specifically asked for our photos to be as natural as possible, we are not models and have no experience of being professionally photographed. The majority of the time the photographers were asking us and the bridal party to “pretend” while they captured the photos. For example, “pretend to play with the dress” “pretend to put your earring in” mix these odd instructions in with a strong accent which was difficult at times to understand fully and the result is incredibly forced looking photos - the furthest thing from natural and relaxed. Why not just actually capture these moments as they happen? The bride/groom photos again were extremely forced and front cover magazine like, fine if that’s the look you are going for but it was not what we wanted. Every single time we smiled normally/naturally for these photos, the photographer would constantly instruct us not to and stressed to “softly smile” instead. The majority of our bride groom photographs look forced, uncomfortable, cringey and completely unnatural.
  The photographers were briefed beforehand that the brides mother had passed away but continuously kept calling an aunt mother of the bride. This was incredibly awkward for both bride and aunt, to the point a bridesmaid actually took the photographer to one side and kindly reminded him of the situation….even after this extra reminder unfortunately he just continued to get it wrong and seemed to be on autopilot.
  
  The cocktail hour photographs with family and friends was unorganised chaos. The photographers were aware that this was a bilingual wedding, with Spanish speaking guests and English speaking guests. Instead of asking the bilingual MC or best men they thrust the microphone into the hands of the maid of honour, who does not speak a word of Spanish, and instructed her to co ordinate family members and guests to the dance floor to have their photo taken. This plan was NEVER agreed beforehand. Maid of honor did her best on the spot but safe to say it was a disaster, with our Spanish only speaking guests not being reached and visible stress/confusion in the faces of the bride&groom and guests in the photos that they did manage to capture.
  
  When we got the photos back there were numerous photos of the same object, such as a suit jacket or the rings. Not sure if this was a case of pressing the capture button repeatedly to hit their number of agreed photos in accordance with our package but we would have liked more pictures of the guests rather than objects, thats what we will care about in the years to come.
  
  To summarise:
  We were impressed with the communication and attention to detail when choosing the package best for us. Prices were made very clear and making payment was an easy process. Our highlight video was very well done and exceeded our expectations. We do have some nice photos and our wedding video captures our ceremony and reception well. We liked that they sent us a form to fill out before the wedding to give us an opportunity to let them know our expectations of the service. However, it seems that the majority of these expectations were ignored. More care and attention to detail when it came to the photos/organisation/guest interaction was needed. We did not feel our day was that special to them and it was just another generic wedding in the hundreds that they do. When you’re paying in the thousands you want to feel in safe hands and special, sadly we did not feel that this was the service we received.

  Great Experience, Beautiful Photos with Felix!

  I found Junior Cruz Photography through a destination wedding group and I am SO happy I went with them! They were absolutely worth the outside vendor fee, which is seamlessly imbedded in the packages they sent. Felix was the photographer and him and his assistant captured the day beautifully. They instructed posing well when necessary, and effortlessly blended in to capture candid pictures. The photos were beautiful in delivered just in time to make Christmas cards!

  Selfie Mirror Photo Booth

  I got the selfie mirror photo booth for 2 hours for $700. The photo booth was operational for probably a total of 1 hour. We wanted it from 8-10pm but they only got it set up by around 9:15pm-9:30pm and it malfunctioned several times while in use. My wedding coordinator tried to discuss this with Junior Cruz's team but they did not offer any discount despite the photo booth not being available for the contracted time.

My husband and I initially reached out to Morgan and she answered every single question we threw at her via email on top of arranging additional time to speak with us on the phone.   Junior and his team weren’t just on time, but early, for our proposed wedding timeline. From start to finish they were positive, energetic, professional, and well organized even with us adding two additional hours of coverage at the end of the night at the last minute. We’ve only received a sneak peak of our photos thus far, but they have us eager to see more! My husband and I are not photogenic and were anxious about being photographed, but Junior and his team gave such kind feedback on how to smile, how to pose, and how to just simply relax and enjoy the process. We never felt uncomfortable and were able to completely trust Junior and his team. Not only are they outstanding photographers, but they also played a huge role in gathering and directing guests to keep things organized and on time which we were so grateful for. Junior even jumped in without hesitation to bustle my gown when my Mom was unable to do so. We feel like Junior and his team were a part of our family that day!
  
  We went back and forth a few times trying to decide between a photo booth and a video booth and we are SO glad Morgan swayed us into choosing the video booth! Our guests are still raving about it, and we loved receiving a link with all of the videos compiled for us to view and reminisce for years to come! The crew running the video booth were kind, fun, and interactive! We’re so grateful they were a part of our special day!
  
  I do not regret booking with Junior Cruz for one single second! I would recommend them to any couple in the DR for their wedding! I could not have imagine my wedding day with any other crew by my side. Truly exceeded all of our expectations!

My pictures were breathtaking I got them literally before expected and my album and video were amazing. They captured all the beautiful moments and I couldn’t be any happier. We did our wedding at Kukua beach club and everything was just as I imagine.

  Amazing Photographer

  Having my wedding in Punta Cana, DR I was a bit unsure how everything would turn out. Booking with Junior Cruz was one of the best things I could have done. They were super responsive, easy to work with and addressed all my concerns before I got there. On my wedding day, we had the best photographer. He was super fun, easy going and made sure that my fake smile did not come out after taking so many pictures. The pictures were even better than what I could have imagined them to be. If you have an opportunity to work with them, do it. This is one less thing to worry about and you will not regret this choice at all.

  Dissapointed

  If you have a small wedding honestly I would pass on hiring Junior Cruz and his team. This is just my experience, but I don't feel like he gave me the same treatment he would larger weddings, which is disappointing since our wedding was very important to us, it didn't seem like he cared especially in the end with receiving our photos. First, when deciding to hire him I talked with his team many times telling them I really want the focus to be on the newlywed photos after the ceremony.   If you have a small wedding honestly I would pass on hiring Junior Cruz and his team. This is just my experience, but I don't feel like he gave me the same treatment he would larger weddings, which is disappointing since our wedding was very important to us, it didn't seem like he cared especially in the end with receiving our photos. First, when deciding to hire him I talked with his team many times telling them I really want the focus to be on the newlywed photos after the ceremony. I told them it's really important to me to have pictures in front of the gazebo and the ocean. I said this in the notes to the photographer and in emails to the coordinator a few times. When we got our photos back we only had two pictures in front of our gazebo (without the officiant) to choose from, one kissing photo and the other with our eyes closed and mid-blink. For me telling them this was so important and only seeing two options you can imagine what a disappointment that was. When you are standing there in the moment you think they are snapping away taking so many pictures but for this photographer they really don't give you many options and may be only taking one or two pictures per pose. When I asked if they happened to have any other workable pictures with our eyes open, they just became rude and said I should be happy with the ones I have and literally did not care. There were also limited number of pictures in front of the ocean. They took a majority of the pictures facing the venue. You can imagine my disappointment when we came all the way from LA to Punta Cana for the beautiful blue water just to only get a few photos with the ocean. They pretty much blamed me for not telling the photographer but again I told them beforehand so many times and on your wedding day you are trusting the professionals and you think they are clicking the button a lot more than they really are based on our photos we got back. I feel like they do the same thing for everyone so if you say you really want to focus on this or that, they will just say ok and do that same thing they normally do (at least for small weddings). Secondly, I want to mention our ring photos. My husband's ring has diamonds on the front of it, and they photographed our rings with his backwards where you couldn't see the diamonds at all. When I told them his ring was photographed backwards they responded with "well we completed our contract obligations". Basically telling me "we don't care". The least they could have said was "sorry about that" or "sorry we dropped the ball". Some acknowledgment would have gone a long way. Instead they replied with complete rudeness and lack of care for our wedding. Super disappointing. They don't care about our wedding but we do. Lastly, they claim you get one free round of edits so I simply asked if any of the night/sunset photos could be brightened ever so slightly and they refused to even edit a single picture saying it's not possible. Even my cheap iPhone app can adjust color or brightness even the tiniest bit. But because they were being rude at this point they really didn't want to help me and said no and have now ignored my emails. They acted like I asked for some crazy photoshop edit or trying to make a night photo into a day photo. All I asked was maybe brighten it one hue or bring out the blue of the water but no that was too much work for them. Regardless, after the mistakes they made they should have tried to help me even if it was to edit one single photo. That's the least they could have done to try and fix the situation. I would have appreciated even a little help or just an apology. So now I am editing my pictures myself. I would say save yourself the potential disaster and just book another photographer for small weddings. There are so many photographers in Punta Cana and if the ring photos or newlywed photoshoot is important to you just go with someone else!
  
  In addition to their comment below: Again they would not help me edit a single photo, and ignored my email to them completely, and yes the photographer stayed and we tipped him for doing so. That has nothing to do with the fact that the photos we got back were still not focused on the newlywed shoot in front of the arch/ocean which we wanted. Even with the extra photos they still didn't capture what we had asked for.

  In addition to their amazing photography skills, Junior and his team made the payment process and virtual meeting simple and easy to organize. The payment process was very straightforward, which made it easy for us to focus on other aspects of the wedding planning. They were also easily reachable via email and responded in a very timely and professional manner. They were so accommodating and made sure that everything ran smoothly in terms of the meetings and planning process. We were able to have a virtual meeting with them before the wedding to discuss all the details, and they were always available to answer any questions we had. Junior and his team worked with us to set up a package split for the weekend before we finalized contract details and costs. Junior and his team also worked with us for weeks before the wedding to set up a photo shoot program, schedule, and list of photos. This was so helpful and allowed us to capture all of the special moments for very complicated Hindu ceremonies with numerous events, making us feel prepared with low stress or less worry. This all allowed them to manage the entire weekend and capture as many moments as possible. The result was a beautifully curated collection of photographs that captured all the special moments of our wedding weekend.
  
  We feel so lucky to have found such an amazing photographer and team. Thank you, Junior and team, for making our wedding planning process and wedding weekend in DR unforgettable!

  Junior Cruz and his team were a pleasure to work with. I used them fro both photography and videography and could not be happier with the photos and video I received. Prices are very competitive and packages include extra such as drone and photo book which were very nice touches. His team was very responsive to any questions I had. Overall, highly recommend!!

  Junior and his team came highly recommended from previous brides and they definitely didn’t not disappoint. My husband and I are absolutely in love with the pictures! Ryan was fun to work with and yet assertive and so helpful with guiding us with the poses. And I def recommend them.
