  With the help of our wedding planner Lindsay Stein Cohen from Designer Event Chicago, we found Kate with K.LA design for our florist. I can't possibly tell you how beautiful everything truly was. I went into our first appointment, not exactly sure what I wanted, but showed Kate some general pictures. I didn't even have colors picked out at the first appointment. All I really knew for sure is that I wanted succulents incorporated somehow. She helped me nail down our wedding colors and provided us with the perfect flowers for our wedding day. She also stuck to our budget and gave us everything we wanted and more.

  Kate came highly recommended to us by our wedding planner, and we could not have been more thrilled. From the very first time my husband and our moms visited her studio, I knew we were in extremely capable hands. To be honest, at that point I’d be hard pressed to point out the difference between a peony and a hydrangea, and had never even heard of succulents and scabiosa pods. I brought in a few of photos that I thought were “pretty” and not only did Kate listen patiently as I tried to articulate (or more like fumbled around) the “feel” that we were trying to go for, but she was able to make that vision come true while being respectful of our budget.
  
  Kate beautifully arranged three different style centerpieces (of varying heights and materials), bouquets for 8 bridesmaids and me, all the personal flowers for the groomsmen and family members, as well as all the detail pieces scattered throughout the ceremony and reception at the Chicago Cultural Center. Her work was incredibly stunning, honestly more than we could have hoped for! But more than that – as most brides can attest to – what differentiates the good from great vendors is the level of professionalism. Our wedding took place the same weekend that the City of Chicago hosted the NATO summit and we were more than anxious about what kinds of trouble we were going to encounter logistically. But Kate and her team arrived early, tracked down everyone to make sure they had whichever pieces they need, and worked flawlessly with our venue and other vendor. It was really a joy to have Kate on board and would highly recommend her services.

  Kate with K.La designs was wonderful to work with. From day one she was very attentive to the bride, worked with the budget requested, efficient and easily on the same page when discussing ideas of design. If you are working with a very small budget, samples of designs will be an extra cost, so to avoid that, provide several photos of what you want and she will execute it on the day of, no problem. She went above and beyond to help create the design for our space beyond the floral arrangements.

  Kate provided us with beautiful flowers for our wedding. We met with her to talk about our vision and then again to show us some sample designs where we tweaked what she did and got the vision down. Our flowers turned out beautifully. The one negative is she is definitely slow to respond both via phone and email. It added some stress to the wedding planning but ended up turning out OK.

  I don't know where to start. I hired Kate off a recommendation from a family member and was excited she was able to do what I wanted within our budget. I had a really hard time getting in touch with her throughout the planning process and was a bit nervous. Long story short- I would not recommend her in a million years. She showed up on the day of the wedding (I sent out a schedule, contact numbers, etc) an hour late and our flowers were already dying. They look embarrassing photos. The men recieved the exact boutonniere that I said was the ONLY thing I did not want. The alter arrangements were put on the wrongstands and blew over onto our guests. The centerpieces were nothing like the photos I sent. I knew we were working within our budget, but I didn't realize that everyone would be a third of the size! The flower girls had a string with a few roses on it instead of the pomanders that were in my contract. And in the end, her professionalism in handling the whole situation was terrible. She lied to me about what really happened and basically blamed me for her being late. This is what you do for a living! Please do not hire this vendor and let her ruin your day like she did to me.
