King's Hill Inn & Barn Reviews

King's Hill Inn and Barn was absolutely everything we could have dreamed of for our wedding. Kate and her crew were incredible and went above and beyond to help us with our day. They were so responsive to our questions leading up to the day and then everything was exactly as conveyed. Despite a little wind, the whole team rallied together and made our day even better than we could have imagined. All of our guests kept saying it was one of the best weddings they had ever been to and that is in huge part to Kate and the staff at King's Hill. Everyone should book their wedding here!!!!!

King's Hill Inn & Barn was exactly what we wanted on our wedding day. It had beautiful views of the White Mountains and gorgeous property for our guests to explore (and for us to hold our ceremony). The Inn & Barn are family-owned, and we worked directly with Kate and Nancy (a mother-daughter dream team). They were incredibly friendly and down to earth throughout the entire process, and made us feel right at home from the moment we decided we wanted to move forward with them as our venue. We did not want to go with the standard 'banquet hall' feel for our wedding, and wanted more so for the vibe to be that of a party instead of an event. King's Hill Inn & Barn was the perfect fit for this feel; we were able to bring in our own vendors, and had so much freedom in our creativity of how we wanted the day to go. We loved loved having our wedding here and our guests had an amazing time. (Not to mention they have a bonfire where you can hang out with your guests--perfect for a chilly fall evening). Thank you Kate and Nancy--we had the perfect day!

I literally cannot say enough good things about King's Hill Inn & Barn. The venue and grounds are absolutely beautiful! The owners are the nicest and most accommodating people you will ever meet! Nancy and her daughter Kate were so helpful the entire long weekend we were there. The barn is a beautiful blank slate you can decorate to whatever style you like. The grounds are breathtakingly beautiful for photos and there are multiple sites to get married depending on your tastes. I got married in the wooded area and it was amazing!

I can't say enough good things about King's Hill Inn & Barn! We rented out the whole bed and breakfast for our wedding weekend, and it was one of the best decisions we made. Our guests loved the beautiful location, and we loved how easy they were to work with.
We had our rehearsal dinner, ceremony, and reception there, and most of our bridal party stayed on-site, so the stress of traveling to multiple venues was gone. They not only gave all the guests breakfast on Saturday and Sunday, but also helped coordinate events the day of the wedding.
I'm so glad we chose them for our special day! We're already planning on going back there for our anniversary.

King's Hill Inn and Barn was such an amazing experience from beginning to end. The moment we stepped foot onto the property we knew it was for us. Kate and her family are so sweet and willing to do anything they can to make your day absolutely perfect.

If you are looking for an authentic Maine farmhouse/barn wedding, King's Hill Inn & Barn is the place to be. Gorgeous views in every direction. They offered to help us and did anything we asked. We decorated the way we wished, but the barn is stunning by itself. Twenty minutes before the ceremony began, we gave up on finding my daughter's cake topper, but one of the owners, Nancy, created a beautiful floral piece (more beautiful than the original topper) so none of the guests knew about the problem. Kate Michaud Photography, also owner of King's Hill, took fabulous pictures. She was our first choice because, aside from her flexibility, she knows the best spots for pictures since she is familiar with the property. The Inn is a step back in time. Warm and cozy, we felt at home. Always, there were treats available. In the morning, the tables were set with country dishes, and the vast breakfast food seemed never ending and cooked perfectly. King's Hill Inn and staff (family owned) seems to be a piece of heaven. Our guests remarked on how it was the most beautiful wedding they have been to. My daughter had the wedding of her dreams.

My wife and I got married 8/1/14 at King's Hill Inn and the only way I can describe it is magical. Janice and Glenn, the innkeepers, took wonderful care of us and our friends and family.

The food was delicious and abundant...They even made traditional wedding cookies for us!

They set up the chapel exactly the way we wanted it and kept it spotless even after our rehearsal when we tracked in wet grass onto the floor.

They connected us with a minister, a flower person, a photographer and told us a great place for the wedding reception.

They gave us a list of great restaurants in the are and places to go to have fun.

They were accommodating in every way but more than that, they were loving and kind. Really it couldn't have been better. We both felt so at home.

The grounds were entirely amazing. The garden is enormous and obviously professionally designed and tended. It was heavenly.

The inn was very comfortable and our room was decorated perfectly for a wedding couple, with all the details...especially the sitting area for the bride.

We will always have the most wonderful memories of this blessed occasion and are deeply grateful to Janice and Glenn.

Wow, where to begin! My husband and I had a small early-morning ceremony here and it completely surpassed my expectations. We had the ceremony outside since the weather was nice, and then a stunning 7-course breakfast inside. The grounds were beautiful as well for mid-May, with everything green and starting to bloom. The hosts Janice and Glenn were wonderful and a joy to work with, on such short notice they were able to accommodate our tight schedule (with my husband being in the military, our schedule was a little uncertain in the beginning), and when we had changed our mind about times of the service and breakfast (with relatively short notice), they were so gracious and flexible about the change. We had a delicious, home-cooked breakfast after (breakfast is our favorite meal, so we were so excited to have such a well-cooked meal following our ceremony). We took so many great pictures before and after the ceremony--they were so kind in letting us take our time. Janice was incredibly sweet and felt like family, and with small personal touches such as a sign outside with our names, that day's newspaper, and a balsam pillow to remind us of Maine when we move to my husband's military base this summer--we felt right at home. We planned our wedding with little time to spare, but were able to have a lovely, intimate service just like we'd wanted thanks to Janice and Glenn at King's Hill Inn!

Janice was so gracious and helpful when we were looking at venues for our daughter's wedding on a short notice! She was available to meet immediately with us to discuss our options. We met the very next day, and with texting input from the bride, made plans accordingly for a small intimate family wedding. After thinking we had things all set for an 11 A.M. wedding, the bride and groom had a great idea for an 8A.M. change! Janice and Glen were very accommodating when our daughter called to ask if they could make the changes. They provided a wonderful site, and allowed the bride and groom to explore the grounds and choose where they wanted the ceremony performed. A fabulous 7 course breakfast was provided, and it tasted as wonderful as it looked. There were lots of personal touches that made it very special and comfortable. Janice and Glen make you feel like you are part of the family! They are especially fond of military service and are very generous in acknowledging the service to our country! We took loads of pictures inside and out and ended our morning with a tour of the newly renovated barn! It is so beautiful and done in such a way that if you are looking for a barn ceremony, it can be dressed up or go as rustic as you prefer! I have recommended them and will continue to recommend them to everyone looking for a night of lodging, wedding or any other event! I plan to visit over the summer to see their gardens in full bloom! I cannot say ENOUGH good things about the Inn's beauty as well as the graciousness, helpfulness, kindness, and more, of Janice and Glenn, owners of the venue.First of all, they made me feel exceptionally special. The first day we went to look at the Inn, Janice called to tell me she had made me wedding cookies to help celebrate! She offered Ryan and I coffee and tea, while we ate cookies and looked the venue over (who else will do that for you? I mean really).The owners went to every expense to make sure their gardens were all in place in time for our wedding: Getting married in May in Maine its normally a gamble, but they actually brought people in to MAKE the gardens gorgeous, planting flowers in time for our day. So beautiful! They have numerous outdoor spaces for a ceremony. I chose the area facing gorgeous birch trees, with the White Mountains off to the left. They also have a small wedding chapel (so cute) which we thought of getting married in front of, plus many more options. We had our reception in their newly renovated barn and it couldn't have been more gorgeous, from chandeliers to a giant fireplace upstairs in a loft area, with upstairs seating.The venue rental is just the rental. Everything else is building from the ground up from porta johns to catering, which depending on the bride, could be super fun and creative like I loved, but if that's not for you, then Kings Hill has AWESOME preferred vendors they can recommend for literally everything. I used their vendor Affordable Events, for my crystal chandeliers/tables/chairs and it was so gorgeous. I hardly had to decorate (even though I did) because everything was already so pretty!
My parents stayed at the Inn the night before the wedding, and raved about their hospitality and 7-course breakfast. The personal touches made me feel so special, like apart of their family, which is how every bride wants to feel on her day! Go check them out, you won't be disappointed!

My son and his bride had an early morning ceremony in the garden. We did not use the barn for the reception, as they wanted a small & intimate gathering. We were served a seven course breakfast at 9am. Glen and Janice are the perfect host/hostess. The dining area is roomy but still intimate. The food they prepared was fantastic! Everything was elegant yet simple, just they way the Bride & Groom wanted. We were allowed to wander the beautifly kept grounds for photos. I would highly recommend Kings Hill Inn to any couple. Glen and Janice are especially fond of military couples, as they have several personal connections to the service.

WOW! This venue is absolutely stunning! If you're looking for a DIY venue that provides some extra support while you create your dream wedding - you've found it! Most DIY venues have NOTHING to offer other than the space, but King's Hill provided ongoing support, Day-of coordination, a extensive decor room that you have free access to, countless consultations, extensive suggestions for vendors and things to do in the area, a friendly and helpful approach to each and every conversation, and more.

Our guests absolutely loved the venue and those that stayed on site, loved their spaces and it was such a convenient option to utilize for everyone. As the bride and groom, we also loved being on site to take breaks as needed, be able to not waste any time in transport and just get ready there, and to just be able to work on venue set up and breakdown whenever it was convenient (yes, even when I woke up with wedding day anxiety at 5am and decided to continuing set up haha).

The day was SO smooth thanks to my bridal party AND the coordinators onsite. I did *nothing day of to facilitate really and everything went off more or less without a hitch! They were absolutely fabulous!

Kate also helped my husband to coordinate bringing GOATS (yes, I said goats!) onsite to my bridal suite to surprise me on my wedding day. It was so amazing and she was very supportive and helpful each step of the way.

My mom also left behind a few items by accident and they went ABOVE AND BEYOND to get them to us back in MA, to the point they had a friend that lives there meet my mom in our own state so we didnt need to drive back to ME. It was so over the top friendly and helpful and we so appreciated it.

My only suggestion would be for them to hire someone specifically for correspondence back and forth because at times they could be a bit (understandably) slow because they are booked every weekend. They absolutely prioritize the bride and groom of that week versus emails which on my wedding day I absolutely appreciated, but at times we were waiting a little bit for responses during the planning stages, which could hold up other planning we were trying to do. Again, not a huge deal and very understandable but my only suggestion to them.

Overall we had an amazing experience. I would absolutely book them again and suggest to friends to use them too!
