As I have sat here this morning writing reviews for our vendors for my daughter’s wedding on Saturday, I kept opening the tab for Kingsmill – and quickly pushing it aside – this was going to be a tough one. Truthfully, I don’t even know where to start – thank you doesn’t even begin to touch on the amount of gratitude and appreciation we have for the experience and privilege of working with you. From the moment we walked in the door for our very first tour of the beautiful venue there – James Gelfand has gone over and above every single expectation. To say he was amazing is to not do him justice. Every single detail was attended to, he listened so patiently as my daughter described her vision – and he professionally and wonderfully brought it to life. As an already nervous and anxious Mother of the Bride who had insanely decided it would be a good idea to take on the role of Wedding Planner – an area I was completely clueless about – he walked me through every step of the process, kept me on track, provided the perfect amount of encouragement and support. Closer to the actual date of the wedding, we begin to work more closely with others involved – Lauren Freed, Erin Clark, Savanah Fowler, Kyra … each and every one there created a personal relationship with us, and the end result was a day that exceeded our wildest expectations … Thank you is truly, truly inadequate. Kingsmill is a breathtaking location that is now forever embedded in our hearts … and we are so very humbled by the gracious and welcoming experience we have shared with you for what was single handedly – the very best day of my daughter’s life. If I could give you a hundred stars, it still wouldn’t be enough.

My wedding was breath taking. I couldn’t have asked for better weather. The view from their main event lawn was beautiful and everyone was so helpful. I got the pleasure of working with Erin & James. They made everything so easy and stress free. Thank you for everything!! We will definitely be back for vacations and anniversaries! ❤️❤️❤️

If you are looking for the best place to host your event in Williamsburg, you found it! I am a professional DJ and I work a few wedding events here every year and already have some lined up for next year. Before this year is over, I wanted to take the time and share with all review readers how grateful I am for the opportunity to be able to collaborate with such a great venue and the talented team that makes magic happen every time I am there. Special shout out to Cintia (hope I spelled it right) who was awesome to coordinate with and answer all my questions. They communicate well with vendors, everything is always clean and looks amazing, and the layout options are awesome. They surely go above and beyond for their clients to have the best time ever. Kingsmill is an amazing place to get married! Our wedding was in early November and they must have also special ordered awesome weather! Our guests oohed and ahhed about everything and the food is amazing! I'm using a lot of exclamation points, but seriously, give this place a try.

The banquet coordinator/manager Kaitlin Edwards is a dream to work with. She helped us narrow down our fickle back and forth decisions and was always so accommodating to both me, my new hubbie and our parents. Seriously, it was an amazing wedding.

We had a holding room in the downstairs area where my bridesmaids and I got married. I decided to cater breakfast and lunch for them because hey, we were gonna be there all day anyway. And when we started getting dressed our catering staff actually helped my bridesmaids pin my slip up as it looked like it was peeking through the bottom of my dress (THANK YOU AGAIN CATHIE!!)

Everyone was amazing, zero complaints - our wedding was held in the James River Ballroom - you should at least check out those amazing windows.

Kingsmill is like paradise! We love it there!

KingsMill and the entire support staff were tremendous. We only have great things to say about our Catering manager, the entire KingsMill staff, the entire resort facility, and all the arrangements that they helped to provide. We could not have made a better choice. We are so pleased and happy about how the event turned out. It was absolutely perfect in all respects. Each event, from the moment we met our Catering Manager and the staff waiting for us in the lobby on rehearsal day, to the rehearsal lunch, the rehearsal itself out on the lawn, all the way through until conclusion of the ceremony and reception the next day, was perfect and flawless. And the planning process was a delight. My wife (then fiancée) constantly raved about the wonderful support KingsMill provided throughout the planning process leading up to the wedding and reception, and about how responsive and helpful they were. All of our special requests and questions were addressed professionally, thoroughly, timely, and efficiently. We felt so comfortable the whole time leading up to and during the event. Our event manager and her staff were all so friendly and accommodating at the same time. We had quite a crowd, and a lot of special requests, but the event manager kept everything running smooth throughout. It was such a pleasure working with the entire staff. We truly appreciate everything they did to make the entire event so wonderful and exceed all our expectations. We will definitely recommend KingsMill to all our friends and family for their special event, or just for a visit to a wonderful resort facility with an excellent staff. We have fond memories that will last a lifetime thanks especially to our personal event and catering manager and all the staff. KingsMill provided all of us a wonderful experience with friendly and exceptional customer service.

I cannot express how pleased I am with Kingsmill. We had our wedding there this past November and everything I had invisioned came to life. Brittany was our coordinator and was a blessing. She had everything set up and running before I could even ask her! She even had the daunting task of hanging a chandalier at our ceremony site from the tree and it was perfect. Our cake was beautiful, the venue was clean from the outdoor site to the bathroom stalls.

Kingsmill Resort was a beautiful venue. All our guests stayed at the property and we had fun entire week. Everyone was so nice and friendly to us and our guests. Kaitlin was the best wedding coordinator we could ask for. She was very organized and easy to communicate with. She made our wedding stress free! We would recommend the venue and Kaitlin to couples that want to enjoy their special day without any preparation stress.

Our wedding at Kingsmill in April 2014 was AMAZING! Everyone is so kind and accommodating and all of the guests loved the venue as much as we did. Most everything for the wedding was inclusive which made the planning so stress free! Brittany, the Kingsmill wedding coordinator, was incredible!!

We have received so many compliments on the food and cake/cupcakes from the wedding. We had a played dinner with 4 options and a salad course. Everything was served promptly, warm and with great service from the Kingsmill staff. The cake and cupcakes were AMAZING, they were decorated beautifully just like the pictures I showed them and the custom flavors we picked out were decadent, moist and delicious!

Overall it was an amazing experience and we couldn't have asked for more. From the wedding planning by Brittany, the 4-star accommodations, the food, cake, host bar...I couldn't imagine doing it any other way!

I had an absolutely wonderful experience with Kingsmill, where my husband and I were married in June. From the very beginning, we were so impressed with the location, the ballroom and the staff. My wedding planner that was included at Kingsmill went above and beyond to work with my schedule during the planning phase (having all of our calls at 7PM so I didn't have to skip out of work). She was so helpful, and really always made sure that this wedding was about my husband and I and our vision. She handled so much of the planning for us, but was also really respectful and laid back on the elements that I wanted tot handle myself. We also knew we had made the right choice in venue when we traveled down for our tasting, realizing that the food was absolutely outrageous.

Our wedding day far exceeded our dreams thanks to Kingsmill. Everything was so wonderfully coordinated and set up, from the transportation to the decorations to the food. Our guests all had a wonderful time (as did we), and we have been getting so many calls and emails to say it was one of the best weddings everyone had ever been to. We had a truly amazing experience and would so highly recommend this location to any couple who is looking for a venue that will go above and beyond to make your wedding perfect.

My whole experience with Kingsmill was awesome - from beginning to end. My planner was wonderful, and the upside is that she was part of the package! The day of the event I didn't have to worry about a thing other than having myself ready. They booked most of my vendors so I didn't have the stress of deposits, final payments, coordinating, etc. Kingsmill is really a one-stop shop.
The food - AMAZING. I've never had better. My cake was GORGEOUS, and most importantly, DELICIOUS. The pastry chef took my drawing and made it come to life like I could never imagine. I'm still getting compliments on everything. I wish I could post pictures with this review!

Kingsmill was the best choice I could have ever made for my wedding! A planner was included in the wedding along with that fact that they take care of EVERYTHING for you and can really work with you to make your day exactly what you imagined. I loved not having to worry about contracts or deposits--the day of the wedding I was not at all stressed or nervous because I knew everything was well taken care of. The decor was more beautiful than I could have imagined and the food and cake---I can't say enough to describe how amazingly delicious they both were! We also had our ceremony outside in front of the James River and it was exactly what I always wanted and just plain gorgeous. We are still receiving compliments about the whole wedding and it has been 6 months since the big day. I love everything about Kingsmill!

Once I saw the spaces at Kingsmill, my heart was set on having my wedding here. The team was so responsive, always indulging all of my questions and making sure I knew everything that was going on.
The wedding staff are amazing and really do make your vision come to life. They coordinated everything and helped decorate the space. It’s not ideal to postpone your wedding, but Kingsmill made it so easy and accommodating for me to be able to postpone. My day went off and was absolutely amazing. Everything was beautiful and even though we were a smaller wedding, they really paid attention to all of our needs and we received so many compliments on our day. Everything was beautiful, from the crepe myrtles as a back drop for the ceremony to our sunset pics in the marina.

Kingsmill is an amazing venue. The resort is beautiful and food is amazing. Everyone I worked with there was friendly and helpful. They are very creative and can help you with anything you need done. The staff is extremely professional as well. My experience with them was very positive.

I recently had my wedding at the Kingsmill and it was absolutely fabulous. The staff was above and beyond, especially the wedding coordinators, Erin and Lauren. They deserve a million stars and a million dollars for their flexibility, organization, and brilliant ideas. There were some aspects I do believe were not fairly priced. I was extremely pleased with our wedding package (we did the station style-highly recommend!). However, I was informed that some of the passed hors d'ovours ran out during cocktail hour, which was disappointing, and that they were being passed with no napkins or utensils. We added on an "antipasto display" to our rehearsal dinner. It ended up being a medium sized charcuterie board that cost $590. In that aspect, I was disappointed in pricing. However, the venue is absolutely beautiful and the staff is amazing. Before booking, I would just be clear on what you are getting and what you are paying. My guests loved the fact that they got to enjoy the resort amenities all weekend long and we really made it more than just a wedding, but an experience for our guests thanks to the amazing grounds of the Kingsmill!

Kingsmill was a gorgeous venue for our wedding. We were married at the Pettis House on site, and our reception was at the resort center. The food was world class, and the views were stunning.

With that said though, Kingsmill was a nightmare to work with. When we signed our contract we were told that they had everything we could need, or if we found it cheaper somewhere else, we were more then welcome to do that. When we tried to bring in outside vendors, Kingsmill flat out refused to let us.

The wedding planner was equally horrible to deal with. I would have to call her close to half a dozen times before she would ever return my calls. She was never able to answer any of m questions. She came across as very unknowledgeable. At the wedding rehearsal, she was stumbling around like she had never done it before, and kept changing what we were going to do.

Six weeks before our wedding, well after we had signed our contract, we were told that the DJ had to stop playing at 10 pm. Only after I pulled out my contract and told them that we never agreed to that, did they allow us to go until 11pm.

Kingsmill wanted to charge us 500 dollars to decorate the reception site. When we told them that we would just do it ourselves they said that we could not do that. only after again pulling out our contract did they agree to decorate the reception site.
