I highly recommend Kira Elizabeth Designs for wedding dress alterations. They made the entire process easy and fit into my busy schedule. They even steamed my dress for me to pick up the day before our wedding. The dress alterations were perfect. -

I am so impressed with Kira Design studios. I love the team of staff they have there and how the owner gets involved with her clients. I had a veil that was simply stated and needed something added. Kira took my Mom's vision to add floral pieces of the lace around the frame of my face. The lace framed my face and added a spanish touch to the dress. The cut of the dress was a sweetheart and I wanted to add cape sleeves. Kira used the lace from designer Callie from Modern Trousseau to custom sew the floral flowers around for cape sleeves and back. I love the relationship Kira has with them as I purchased my dress from this custom bridal store. I needed changes made two weeks prior to wedding date and they made it happen. This wonderful team and owner made sure I was happy and help complete my vision of what I wanted. I also recommend this design store for other alternations other than bridal gowns. I was able to get dressing taken in, hemmed, buttons added etc for outfits that I wanted to wear for wedding festivities! I also had a going out dress made from designer Callie at Modern Trousseau. I love how they worked collaboratively to make personal changes/alternations. My husband is very Dominician Republic and loved the floral pieces of lace added to the veil that framed my face. As I walked down the aisle I saw him get teary eyed, but we say was just a little dust that got in his eye. -

Best Experience!
From start to finish I was comfortable with Kira. My dress was perfect even a year after I was supposed to wear it. (Thanks Covid.) Kira and her team really put in the effort to make the shop a relaxed area for something that is surprisingly high stress!! You won't find a better place to trust with your dress!! -

Trusting someone with your wedding dress can be tough. But trust me when I say that it is in better hands with Kira than it is your own!
I had a tough dress to alter – we had a really specific vision for the bodice, everything had to be altered, and it was a really layered, complex dress.
Not only did Kira deliver, but she went above and beyond our expectations. It can be draining standing in a dress for an extended period of time, but Kira is a wonderful, wonderful person to be around. She was talkative and conversational without being too much so (not everyone loves to chat, and that's totally fine! But my mom and I do and she was so great to converse with in the shop) I but she was so great to be around and quickly (professionally, though) got the pins where they needed to be and did her work impressively quick/well.
Kira is such a talented visionary - a down to earth, spunky, extraordinary person with a TRUE gift for what she does. I am so thankful she was recommended to me – now go call her!! -

too large for me. I was worried I may have wasted my money. I took it to Kira Elizabeth Design Studio to see if it could be altered. Kira told me that it would be challenging due to the sheer neckline; however, she did think it could be done. I was so incredibly impressed with the work she did on the dress. After several fittings, she was able to make the dress fit so perfectly. I have never been so happy in a dress in my life.
She also altered my mother's veil which was extremely fine and over 30 years old. She did an incredible job.
Kira was also so pleasant and accommodating to work with. She took my suggestions and wishes and incorporated them perfectly. She was so professional and always had everything done when I needed it. I would highly recommend her to any bride!

I had the idea of adding a removable, tulle-ish flowy skirt to the lace wedding gown I had already purchased after trying on a style I liked in a store. I came to Kira with some photos and my vision and she worked with me from November to July to make it exactly what I hoped for. She was wonderful about letting me decide what I thought and how I felt and not pushing on ideas or opinions on me which I really appreciated. She found an alternate fabric for the under layer to help me with my budget and was meticulous about color matching and many other details. I really appreciated her dedication to making me really happy with how it turned out. I'd highly recommend Kira to others! -

Every step of the process was stress free. She was able to order the exact material that I wanted to create my dream wedding dress. The fit, quality, and detail of her work is truly amazing and rivals all of the high end wedding dress designers. Being able to design your own custom wedding dress with some one who is so talented, is every bride's dream come true. I felt like a million dollars!

I had a shorter timeline to take care of everything, and she was flexible to meet with me on Saturdays so that my mother could attend both fittings with me. She answered the need for my dress to work for both an outdoor ceremony & indoor reception, creating the most amazing bustle (I think it's called? Not my area of expertise!) that made the back of the dress even more incredible. Not only that, but her custom dresses are breathtaking! Whether it's a totally custom dress or alterations on your current one, Kira is definitely someone you should know!

Amie Sent on 07/16/2018Everything I experienced with my dress worked out perfectly. I redesigned the top of my dress and Kira helped me through it all. She helped me figure out how to take a halter dress to a sweetheart neckline strapless dress. I appreciated all of her time and flexibility to have me come in and see if it was fitting well. She was efficient and I picked up the dress right before my wedding, and it fit well! She is located downtown which is so ideal! Young, smart, and works ver hard. I think Kira is wonderful makes sure you will have everything you want throughout your process. Thank you so much!! -
User2647383 Sent on 06/14/2016Working with Kira was great, we were able to work together and come up with some cool designs for my dress! Unfortunately, she took in an area of my dress that I did not ask her to, my dress then didn't fit, and when I asked her to take out the stitching she had done, the fabric had stretched out and changed the shape of my dress. She then told me she couldn't fix it, so I had to take it somewhere else. I hate that our relationship had to end that way, she really was a joy to work with, but she did mess up an area of my dress that she then could not fix.

Do not let her touch your wedding dress!!!! I had the worst experience. She ruined my dress and charged me hundreds of dollars to do it. I was not able to try on my dress when I picked it up due to COVID. Got it home and it didn't even come close to fitting. It was taken in way too much and I am not the first person this has happened to based on her reviews. My dress barely needed altering and she grossly over charged me. There is a hole in the lace and the bra cup on one side is FLOATING in the bodice of the dress when I specifically said I did not want the bra cups touched. The dress was not hemmed and she will not respond to my calls. She was extremely rude in all of my dealings with her and she and her staff clearly do poor work. Stay far away. -

Yes, I recommend...if you want your dress ruined. She literally ruined my friend’s wedding dress. And didn’t give a crap that she had done so. Where is the accountability? Take responsibility for your shoddy work! She charged an exorbitant fee to literally ruin a dress - she cut out fabric that she was told to leave alone...leaving a 2” gap in the back of the dress. She ripped the lace of the dress also...and the mistakes continue on and on. Why did we pay for such crap? Because “due to covid I can’t let you actually touch or try on the dress until you pay.” Then wouldn’t let the dress be tried on because we needed to leave the store immediately upon payment. And now she won’t return calls to help find a resolution. DON’T LET HER NEAR ANYTHING YOU NEED ALTERED!!! You would be better off letting my 3 year old niece use her Barbie sewing kit.
