Of all of the vendors I used for my wedding, this is the only one I would not recommend to anyone.
At my trial, the hair went fine. My stylist was able to create an up-do that looked like the pictures I brought him. However, my makeup trial went so badly that I cancelled my makeup services and just had my sister do my wedding makeup. I am not a makeup person at all, and even though I told the makeup artist I wanted glamorous, I could have re-created the look easily with a few pieces of cheap makeup.
Come wedding day, the two stylists arrived for hair. They did arrive on time, and were pleasant to work with. However, David, the stylist doing my hair, didn't have any of the reference pictures for my up-do. Thankfully I had saved several on my own phone, but I thought that was pretty irresponsible, especially since he didn't seem to remember the style until I showed him the pictures.
I had paid up front for my hair, as well as 8 attendants. My mother and MIL wanted to get in on the fun, so the two stylists gave them very quick styles. I wanted to make sure I was paying for everything, so I made sure David knew I hadn't paid for those styles. He quoted me $35/person, and I called the salon to pay. I ended up being charged $55/person, without gratuity, for simple services that took about 5 minutes per person.
For the hairstyles themselves- my sister hated her hair. She ended up taking it down halfway through the night. My niece's curls didn't stay in place, and they had no ideas for fixing it. One of my other bridesmaids took out the fishtail braid she was given and re-did it herself because the one the stylist did looked so messy.
Finally, one of bridesmaids wears a wig because of cancer. I paid for her up-front, because I didn't want to stress her out and bug her about her hair. The stylists literally put the wig on her- no styling, no anything. I called to ask about a refund, and they refused, even though I paid extra for 2 unplanned services on the day of.

User1783792 Sent on 08/27/2014I've been going to La La Luxe for the past year for my hair cuts and Jess my stylist has done a phenomenal job. When it came time to figure out a plan for my bridal party there was no question about who I'd use for hair and make up. The staff at the salon was extremely helpful and efficient. We were able to get 10 updo's done in under 2 hours which was amazing and incredibly important for a wedding day schedule. Jess did my updo and Amy did my makeup in my trial and on the day of -- both are super talented and extremely receptive to changes. A little bit more pricey than other places but totally worth it for the piece of mind that came with working with them and a job well done.
