    Will was absolutely amazing to work with! I wasn't exactly sure how working with a travel agent worked and he was way more than I ever could have expected! I felt comfortable with him immediately and he made planning my wedding an absolute breeze. He even surprised me and was there on my wedding day!! He will now always be a friend, part of one of the biggest days of my life, and definitely someone I will be bragging about to all my engaged (and already married) friends!

    Planning a destination wedding for a group of 30+ is STRESSFUL but everything came together PERFECTLY. Plus Will was able to properly plan everything out where my husband & I GOT MONEY BACK from our trip! Highly recommend.

    Will is not only an amazing travel agent, he also is very caring and wonderful person. He is very detail oriented and super helpful with any questions that you have.     Will was wonderful to work with throughout our honeymoon planning. We were extremely happy we chose to work with Larimar Travels because it was one less thing to worry about during the wedding planning process! Will was easy to work with, very responsive and answered out questions quickly. Best of all, he provided great suggestions for our trip to Croatia. I'd highly recommend using Larimar Travels and will use him again on our next trip!

    Even if you aren't certain on the details, Will asks the right questions to give you what you want. Also don't be afraid to give him a reasonable budget. He is very adaptable to your needs and wants.

    Will at Larimar Travels was awesome! He answered completely every single question asked. Will made traveling to Mexico a worry free experience. I would highly recommend Larimar Travels to anyone looking for a stress free getaway! I would use this service again without question!! :)

    One year ago, my now husband and I were referred to Will, owner of Larimar Travels to assist us with our destination wedding. During our first meeting Will came out of his way to meet us in our home for a introductory meeting, took the time to get to know Shane and I as a couple, took the time to ask many questions and explained the destination wedding process to us. We had no idea at that time how much this person would do for us over the next year to deliver the wedding of our dreams and a vacation of a lifetime for our family and friends.
    Will is compassionate, caring, and an expert in his field. He made our destination wedding a dream come true. From day one he listened to what we wanted and identified locations and resorts that fit our personalities and descriptions. At the time I did not appreciate how important it was to find a resort/location that fit the personality of the couple and their friends and family. In our case, Will hit the nail on the head by identifying a beautiful 5-star resort within our budget that allowed us to have fun, but more importantly delivered a beautiful wedding for our 50 family and friends that jointed us.
    Not only did Will provide expert travel services, but also provided information about destination weddings that was invaluable. El Dorado Royal, the resort that we choose for the wedding was amazing. We had a private ceremony on the beach, private cocktail reception and private dinner that went off without a hitch. Will was with me every step of the way planning this. Many times I was contacting him 7 days a week with questions, he was always quick to respond and always had good advice to give.
    Will is now our travel agent for life and we will never hesitate to recommend him to another couple planning a wedding or family planning a vacation. I am happy to talk to anyone about my experience with working with Will and Larimiar Travels.

    I would recommend to everyone for every vacation! Amazing service! We had a very specific budget in mind and we were given a bunch of options to choose from. The place we stayed in Jamaica was worth much more then what we paid and we would have never been able to find a deal like that on our own. Also, since the trip was a surprise for the bride, descression was key to ensure she didn't find out. Over the top travel service to ensure that the entire stay was special. I will never forget it. I will definitely use them again.

    A dream (wedding) come true in Riviera Maya

    My wife Aparna and I recently returned from our incredible and memorable destination wedding in Riviera Maya, Mexico, which was thanks almost entirely to the amazing people at Destination Weddings Expert (DWE). As this was our first time getting married, we had absolutely no idea where to begin with any of it - whether destination or local - but after being connected to Will, Mario, and Nikki at DWE for an initial consultation call we felt increasingly confident and excited that we could make it work, both from a budget perspective and for the type of wedding we wanted (i.e. Indian + Western wedding with 3 days of events).

    TL;DR: Will, Mario and Nikki were extremely personable, considerate, organized, patient and professional with us throughout the entire process. They often went above and beyond the call of duty to work with the resort and tour operator which saved us extra work and stress. I would 100% recommend using DWE if you’re considering a destination wedding in the Caribbean. My only word of advice regarding working with any destination wedding agency, including DWE, is to ask all of the questions you have and press for clarity. There are a lot of tricky terms, policies, and services that aren’t always apparent what they mean for you or your guests (sometimes even after being explained). If you aren’t sure you understand something or the “why” behind it, ask.

    To drill in a bit more on our experience and some of the pluses and minuses, I’ll start at the beginning. DWE invested time and energy up front with us during the consulting call to understand our vision and needs and give us some data points to make us feel confident that we could make the wedding work on our budget. This was in stark contrast to some of the larger agencies who made us feel like they were weeding out people who weren’t serious rather than trying to help them achieve their dream wedding.

    The whole planning process is really smooth and well organized. We had several calls with Will and Mario who took our input and came back with, dare I say, expert recommendations on locations and resorts. Besides the phone calls, everything was tracked and documented in our own Trello project management board that they created for us, which was a really nice touch. The cherry on top of all this was that we absolutely loved the resort they recommended and, in fact, chose it sight unseen until we stepped foot on property a couple days before the events.

    Once we chose our resort, they continued on to help us navigate the really complicated policies and tasks of reserving our room block, communicating the essential information to our guests and ensuring that we were on track to receive our comp offers (which is what would help us meet our budget targets). This was one area though where we did have a couple surprises come up that we weren’t expecting.

    For one, we were told and assumed that the negotiated room rates DWE secured for us would be the lowest rates, meaning that our guests could book in our room block confident they had the best deal (also important for earning our comps). However, we found that in several cases, guests could book at a lower rate by going directly through the hotel. Perhaps this is just a situation that happens with destination weddings and resorts who decide to run a special separately, but it caused confusion among our guests and we ended up having to do some public relations work ourselves to make sure guests understood why booking in the room block was still the way to go.

    There was also a challenge with the shuttle. This ties back to my comment above about asking questions as many times as it takes to clarify things. It seems that DWE’s standard procedure is to book a private shuttle service for guests. As we found out when we arrived in Mexico, this actually meant that each guest / couple had their own vehicle to take them directly to the property rather than a shared shuttle which might include other wedding guests, non-wedding guests, or make multiple stops. We didn’t really get this explained to us until much later, when it was cited as one of the main points as to why the room price was be a bit higher. We would have preferred to know up front all our transportation options to make a more informed decision. That said, with some of the travel delays that occurred on our wedding weekend, the private shuttle actually did come in handy as several guests would likely have missed the first event of the weekend if it wasn’t private, so we will give DWE credit that this was a valuable premium service.

    Regarding guest interactions, the team really stood out. All of our guests shared the rave reviews of the interactions they had with the team from booking/changing their rooms, helping with flight delays and shuttle pickups, and more. Plus, they were extremely respectful and not pushy like I’ve experienced with another agency for a friend's wedding, when they constantly sent out messages about adding travel protection. There were some misfires with the messages they sent out having incorrect information which caused some confusion. Although they were always quick to correct this, we had asked to review the messages before they were sent to our guests and we weren’t always given the chance to do so. The last thing that really stood out was the physical mailer they sent to all guests which included travel documents and the like. That was a really nice touch compared to having to dig through emails from weeks or months ago on the day of travel.

    The team was also instrumental in helping us deal with the resort and vendors. Sometimes this meant them joining the calls to help move things along or in some cases even negotiating price or helping us get money back. And they’ve even continued to go to bat for us as we deal with a room issue we had during our stay that we are still working with the resort to resolve. It was and is nice to know that we have someone in our corner.

    As I said at the top, you can’t go wrong with DWE. We felt supported throughout, and as a result, were able to have the wedding of our dreams go off without a hitch, despite never having visited the property or meeting with any of our coordinators or vendors until just days before arrival.
