  Jenniffer was extremely informative and helpful throughout our wedding planning process, whether it be in person, written information, or emails.   Leslie was a godsend for us. She helped make the wedding of our dreams come true on a tight budget, and we couldn't have done it without her. Her advice was spot on and she and Jen made sure everything went smoothly the day of so that we could fully enjoy our wedding day with minimal stress. They really went above and beyond. I am so thankful, and highly HIGHLY recommend hiring them for your wedding or event!!

  Leslie and Jenniffer are amazing. I don't know what we would have done without them. Both professional and fun, creative and flexible. There are ways they helped me that I probably don't even know about! I only used them for day-of coordinating, but they helped me find vendors, answered my random questions (always extremely quickly), and provided much-needed security that everything was under control. The day went off without a hitch (as far as I know!). They are also priced very fairly compared to other vendors and planners I researched. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Leslie-Manning Events to anyone! You NEED them!

  Leslie and Jennifer were attentive, focused, and really listened to what we wanted. We were both widowed previously, and were thinking clearly outside the box in terms of doing something less traditional. They were very much able to get on the same page with us, and the result was a joy to be a part of.

  Leslie was our Day of Coordinator. We have worked with Leslie before in DC for our May nuptuals (we're a same sex couple and got the legal wedding done there). We hired Leslie for our Ohio wedding which was 6X larger than the DC wedding to help coordinate the day of events and help with day of set up. I love how Leslie first listens to our vision of the day and then takes charge to ensure it happens. Her leadership of her team (which was made up of family members helping) was impressive and the end result was amazing. She has a natural eye for organization and making things come together. For example, she helped me improve our center pieces with items we already had and organized vendor start / end time, took care of payments, and made sure the day went smoothly (even with plan B should it have rained!). Thank you Leslie!

  My wedding day could not have gone more smoothly, and Leslie had a big role in that! She was responsive, provided vendor recommendations throughout my planning (even though she was only the month-of coordinator), and I highly recommend her!

She also knew my venue, so she knew exactly what to do. She was on top of everything; she asked me things I hadn't even thought of! She also made great recommendations (e.g., hanging the lanterns from the trees outside rather than in the tent).   Leslie-Manning Events (LME) is the only reason I survived until my wedding day. Leslie Weekes was absolutely amazing to work with. She is kind but honest, and funny but direct. She has a sense of calm that actually makes you believe that no matter how much goes wrong during your wedding planning (and things will go horrifically wrong at least once) that you are still in control, and you will not hurt yourself or others. Leslie provided me with a wealth of recommendations for my wedding vendors, and EVERY SINGLE ONE came with a good review from her. If LME hadn't worked with them before and had a good experience, LME didn't recommend them.
  
  Leslie has become a part of my family during this planning process. She was my rock when I found out I would be moving my wedding during an unexpected deployment. She checked in on me during one of my groom's longer deployments during the engagement. Every once in a while, when she knew I needed a laugh, I'd get an email with the subject line "Don't do this" and it would be a picture of some horrendous 80's style wedding dress or a wedding party picture where the bridesmaids looked like ladies of the night. She kept me laughing through the entire process. Leslie listens to what you want. She answers any question, no matter how stupid (and I asked some really stupid ones) and makes you feel like you're in good hands the entire time. She's not interested in giving you a cookie cutter wedding, she's interested in giving you your dream wedding. I wanted trees as centerpieces, and she was one of the many people who looked at me sideways when I said that originally, but by the next day I had an email with a florist she had worked with who had done something similar for another wedding, and she knew they were within my budget and would work with me. The trees came out beautifully (I TOLD YOU SO) and I am very grateful that even with the doubts, she was able to guide me in such a great direction. She would also send me random emails with helpful links to seating chart programs, guest list managers, etc that helped make my life a lot easier.
  
  In the weeks leading up to my wedding, she really took the reigns. She went over all my contracts meticulously. I got a call one night because she noticed that my floral contract only had 4 groomsmen boutonnieres instead of 7 (at the time I made the contract, my groom had not yet finalized his number of groomsmen). If she had not caught that, I definitely would have been short on the day of, because I simply didn't have the time to go through and do what she did with all the contracts. She contacted each vendor and finalized set up and delivery times with them, and we had 10 different vendors that needed to be coordinated with. Each of them mentioned to me afterwards that she was such a joy to work with because she was so well informed and had all the information they needed. I think it bears mentioning that when you hire a planner, you want a planner with experience. LME's years of experience is what made it possible to answer each question with confidence. They knew what to expect and how to react to it when anything got changed at the last minute.
  
  Leslie's team of coordinators that came to my wedding were fantastic. They were aggressive with some of the groomsmen who had a bit too much to drink before the ceremony enough so that the boys knew to behave (they all had gum thanks to LME, so the Reverend didn't know that half of them were three sheets to the wind). One planner stays with the groomsmen, one planner stays with the bride and her bridesmaids, and there are at least two others who are standing with the musicians and coordinating with other vendors while the ceremony takes place. Leslie talks to everyone on her team with these discreet headsets they all wear. It's an impressive sight to see them undertake a wedding with military precision. By the end of the night, my groomsmen who were initially referring to her as Drill Sergeant Weekes, were trying to drag her onto the dance floor.
  
  If you are looking for a planner, I cannot recommend this team more highly. They are a dedicated team of true professionals. Leslie Weekes and Jennifer Manning will make your wedding day everything you dream it could be and more. Listen to them. They have seasoned advice and they refuse to steer you wrong. They can answer ANY question you send them, and they do it quickly. They also smile through EVERYTHING. They are the glue that kept my wedding together in the 1.5 years it took to come to fruition. I love each and every one of the fabulous women of LME, and I'm pushing every engaged friend I have in their direction just so I can see them in action again.

  Leslie was cool, calm and professional throughout my daughter's wedding week and was one of the main reasons everything was so beautiful. She ran a great rehearsal that assured everyone knew what they were supposed to do. Her experience, especially with our venue Woodend, enabled her to suggest wedding ceremony details that helped with the music, set up great shots for the photographer, and gave the whole wedding an elegant yet relaxed feel. We had a great time! She is also an incredible bargain.

If you or your daughter might be a little more overwhelmed handling 6 to 12 contracts, planning an event with 100 or more people, scheduling all the day's traditonal moments into a few fleeting hours and making absolutely, positively sure that your daughter's big day is perfect, you should see if Leslie is available.

  Leslie and her team at Leslie Manning Events helped make my wedding day absolutely FABULOUS! My wedding took place at the Mandarin Oriental in Washington DC, so it was important to me to work with vendors with a high degree of professionalism and reputation of executing successful events. Leslie did not disappoint.
  
  I began working with Leslie about 8 months before my wedding day and she served as my wedding planner and provided day of coordination. I have a very demanding career and had little time to research or contact wedding vendors during the day, which is why I cannot thank Leslie enough for all she did to make my wedding day such a success. Leslie is very detailed-oriented and always responded to my emails and phone calls promptly. I especially appreciated being able to communicate with Leslie so easily via email since this was often my only way to communicate during the work day. Leslie played an essential role in suggesting vendors, following up with contacts, and reviewing all contracts. She attended several meetings with me when I met with my vendors and made sure to ask the right questions to ensure my needs would be met.
  
  Leslie, my fiancé and I met several times during the planning process to discuss what I wanted my wedding day to include and my overall vision. I appreciated Leslie’s professional insight and eye for unique and creative ideas. She took my vision and led me in the right direction to find vendors that fit my style and budget. Leslie was there throughout the process to make sure I was on task with meeting deadlines and securing vendors. Leslie met with me several times at my wedding venue to ensure everything was set up and executed in the way we had planned. She also provided a suggested timeline of events for the wedding day to me and all my vendors to outline all the expectations and details of the day as noted in my contracts.
  
  Leslie attended and led the wedding rehearsal on the day prior to the wedding. On the day of my wedding, Leslie and her team ensured my day went off without a hitch –providing service from early morning preparations all the way to the end of the night with making sure every gift and card made it back up to our bridal suite.

  Leslie and her team were truly amazing. We hired LME to provide day-of coordination services. And they delivered 200%. It was wonderful to know that they were taking care of everything from making sure people knew where to go, to timing the ceremony, and instructing the bridal party on when to walk, how to walk, etc. The day would not have gone half as smoothly without Leslie and her team there to make sure it went off without a hitch.

  Leslie was wonderfully professional and had everything covered. Even though I only hired her for day of, she made sure she got every detail right. She always responded immediately to inquiries and seemed as excited as I was for my wedding. A ten star reccommendation!

She helped us articulate our vision for the wedding and made it come to life, finding vendors that fit the bill exactly. That wasn't easy given that we had a Hindu-Jewish wedding, true to both traditions as well as to our own whims. She found us the perfect Indian caterer, a florist who could make Indian weddng garlands, a chuppah (jewish wedding tent) that could also serve as a mandap (indian wedding tent), tableclothes that looked like saris and beautiful, handmade invitations from india. she is an ace at logistics, having executed events large and small in the washington area for a decade. and though she is the best, she is not at all difficult or bossy to work with. she and her partner, jennifer manning, always seem to be giggling. despite all the stress that planning a wedding entails, they seem to truly love the process, and they made it fun for us too!

  My wedding was at Woodend and I was planning it from Australia. I came across Leslie & Jennifer as a planning team that had planned many weddings at the venue and were therefore familiar with it. I used their partial planning package. In the beginning I was mainly in contact with Leslie. Because I had to plan this from abroad I relied heavily on her expertise with vendors and it was incredibly valuable for me. She was able to connect me with the right vendors that were in line with my overall vision (from my celebrant to my florist). It was particularly challenging for me because it was an interfaith/multi-cultural wedding but they were able to help me navigate through the process and keep me on top of things. She was incredibly responsive even from abroad to matching up times to speak with me and would respond almost immediately to my emails. Jennifer designed and amazing outdoor furniture set up that worked really well on the day, and did it on a budget. Once I got on the ground in the US we only needed to meet a few times to pull everything off. They ran a very comprehensive rehearsal that prepared us for all things on the day. On the day itself I felt 100% comfortable letting them take control and truly did not have to worry about at thing. I was very impressed with how well they run logistics for the day of. They also planned my rehearsal cocktail hour. Both events were top notch and I'd highly recommend their services, they are worth every penny.

  Where do I start? Leslie is a very capable wedding coordinator, but she messed up my wedding day. I hired her for wedding day coordination services. She prefers working via email which was okay but I would have preferred meeting in person. I began working with her at least 2.5 months before the wedding and I only received the wedding day schedule a week before the wedding which did not give me enough time to review given the number of things I was handling that week family coming into town .etc. There is no excuse, depite the fact that there were a couple of contracts still being updated there is no reason why the wedding day schedule could not have been presented two-three weeks earlier. Perhaps, if I had the schedule earlier I would have had more time to react and decide not to take her advice to postpone the first dance until later in the reception instead of when it should have happened after the bride and groom were introduced. We looked like fools standing there after we were introduced. My advice is to never wait to do the first dance- it is the natural progression of the wedding program. Even the wedding etiquette books say the first dance should happen when the bride and groom are introduced. Because the first dance was done so late, we never completed the program and I never tossed my bouquet or danced with my father. I was late for my wedding due to being held up by my hairstylist and makeup artist. And I had asked her how would the reception program could be changed to accommodate the possibility of me being late and she refused to discuss so we had no backup plan. When the DJ asked prior to our introduction if we would do the first dance, I said yes and she said no. She is also responsible for ruining the introduction of the bridesmaids and groomsmen. I asked her to stand by the DJ to verify who was next and instead she and her two other assistants stood in the hallway with us to tell which couples would walk in next. I told her the day before at rehearsal that we needed to tell the DJ of the change in who would be coupled because we had reorganized the group by height. But, she responded, "we will just go based on what is in the program" and this did not match the rearrangement of couples. Also, the rehearsal walkthrough was choppy instead of starting from the beginning she went over the post-processional part of the ceremony first. I had to ask her about the cake cutting and where the table would be situated instead of her informing me of this. She never told us how the each member of the wedding party would be seated at the head table and on the day of the wedding the bridesmaids and groomsmen had to read the table place cards to figure out where to sit. She altered my final seating chart and moved around people who were grouped with another table and did not bring a hard copy of these changes for me to review at the rehearsal. Despite having a beautiful wedding ceremony, I will only give her credit for the processional music selection. I am very upset and feel that my wedding day was ruined because of how these matters were handled at my reception. I learned after the wedding that she did not notify my guests that I was coming late, instead she let them sit in the hot sun and did not offer them water. One of the groomsmen had to intervene and beg the caterer to offer water. I called her and let her know that I was running late and to notify the guests and she did not do what I asked. So, I would not recommend working with her ever. I had put a lot of stock in hiring someone practicing the same faith and with a similar ethnicity. If I had to do it again I would not use this criteria. Experience counts more than anything else. Instead of speaking to me about what went wrong she has chosen to avoid all communication which shows a lack of professionalism. Leslie- Let me be clear that you have no right to say that what I have stated are lies. My sister never spoke to you the day of the wedding and told of my whereabouts. I spoke to you directly and told you that I was running late. I fully respect my guests time and I asked you to notify my guests and you did not do what I asked, like the many other things that I asked you to do that day. I am sorry that I was late. I should have insisted that my hairdresser and makeup artist speed up their work. But, that does not recuse you of not honoring my wishes to do the first dance so that I could complete my wedding program. If you think I needed full wedding planning then you should have communicated this instead of now broadcasting this in response to my review. You never once said to me that I needed full services after we began working together. I know of countless other wedding planners that would have considered the work you did part of the normal wedding day coordination services. You are the one spreading lies here to keep your perfect score of reviews. You were not even present to see what I was doing while I was waiting for my makeup artist and hairstylist as they worked on my bridal party. Your services did not include having an assistant present at the hotel. My entire bridal party will tell you that I was sitting there waiting for them to get to me. My husband told me that the groomsmen had the caterer serve water.   While it is true that Ms. Speight did hire us for Day-of Coordination that is where the truth in this review ends.
  
  Ms. Speight paid for Day-of Coordination Service, but then requested Full-Service attention. Our contract and collateral materials clearly states that Day-of Coordination service includes two (2) in-person meetings and unlimited telephone and email support.
  
  Our contract also has a “Time is of the Essence” clause, because we are only able to fully perform our duties based on the information from contracts, contact sheets and checklists we require from clients. The Wedding Day Schedule was late, because even though it is highlighted in our contract and our collateral materials that we need everything from the client 4-6 weeks before the wedding (three (3) weeks at the latest), two weeks before the wedding, Ms. Speight still did not have several major contracts finalized.
  
  We also do not create Wedding Day Schedules arbitrarily; we start a draft, but then we meet in person with our clients to finalize it. When I met with Ms. Speight, our meeting lasted two hours. There was nothing in that schedule that she did not approve.
  
  Ms. Speight also gave us her seating chart two days before her wedding with three tables unassigned. I called her and she told me to just fill-in the numbers, which I did and sent it back to her to approve. Having not heard back from her, at the rehearsal I asked her about the seating chart once again, in front of everyone, and she said she had no time to look at it, “just fill-in numbers”. I sat up until midnight that night doing Ms. Speight’s escort cards. Just to be clear: this is not a Day-of Coordination service. This is one of the many extra tasks we did for Ms. Speight in order to see her wedding to fruition.
  
  Ms. Speight was 2 hours late to our initial meeting, 1 hour and 10 minutes late to our second meeting, 3 ½ hours late to her wedding rehearsal, and 2 hours late to her own wedding. She has no respect for anyone’s time, including her wedding guests. If Ms. Speight was that concerned about her guests’ well-being she would have made an effort to be on time.
  
  I can go on and on, responding line by line to Ms. Speight's rant, but it is clear that she refuses to take responsibility for her actions, so there truly is no point in continuing to respond.
  
  I will end by saying we have been in business six years now, and I have been planning conferences, special events and social events for 10 years now. We are very experienced at what we do.
  
  Ms. Speight had a beautiful wedding that was very well coordinated. We, at Leslie-Manning Events, wish her and Mr. Cobb all of the best.
