Leeann Sent on 08/05/2018This location was beautiful and accommodating (up to 260 guests with chairs and tables included). We chose this venue because of the environment and potential for gorgeous pictures. This truly was a great venue. The only down side is that they do not allow hard liquor due to it being a county park, but it was for the best as we didn't want guests stumbling everywhere and causing a scene. They do allow beer and wine so it worked out perfectly. I would recommend this venue to anyone potentially looking to get married. -

The reception hall is huge and it's neutral colors make for easy decorating!
Everything turned out perfect!! Would recommend this park to any Bride and Groom looking for such a gorgeous back drop!! -

Truly magical views...if it's not raining, check out the two oak trees at the side of the venue...gorgeous ceremony location....unfortunately, it rained on my wedding day, so we had to transition to the reception venue, the Oak Hammock Hall...but I definitely didn't complain....still a very very gorgeous hall! My caterer absolutely loved the size of the kitchen area....the bathrooms were very new, clean, fresh! Butterflies everywhere...and the beautiful lake at the back of the venue is tranquil and serene....I love the touch of the rocking chairs in the back...I can go on and on about why I loved this venue, but you have to see it for yourself! Highly recommended for a wedding! -
User1019404 Sent on 11/18/2012We booked Long Key Nature center for our wedding. All my guests said they thought that our wedding was from the movies. The great canopy trees was an excellent backdrop to the ceremony, and I got a great wedding package through Imperial Design that turned the adjacent banquet hall into a fantasy reception. We really liked the fact that you can have an outdoor wedding and then move inside for the reception, which was great because I found out that it actually started raining at some point during the evening and I didn't even realize it. It has a large catering kitchen which made things really easy for the caterers and the park will set up the tables and chairs for you which are included for the hall (not for outside) in whichever layout you want, so your wedding coordinator only have to worry about decorating. We were also able to use the outside for free by renting the hall which was a great bargain for us.
There are restrictions that you must be aware of: You will have to use violins or guitars because loud amplified music is not allowed. We were able to get away with a keyboard on a small power pack. The outside outlets are locked and unavailable so you will have to take that into account.
You can't throw anything that will endanger the wildlife, so we had our guests blow bubbles after the ceremony. Also no hard liquor allowed, only wine and beer in cans or kegs ONLY. The restrictions can be daunting at first but it if you want that nature theme it is worth it!
We had a wonderful wedding and the staff was very helpful. Vicki the event director at the park will help walk you through the whole process of how to have a great venue experience. She was a great help to us and was very detailed, which made it easy to work with the park. -

Christi Sent on 04/28/2011Lot of rules due to the nature preserve, but if you're flexible and creative, you'll have great use of this place and its fantastic surroundings. -
User1599533 Sent on 04/28/2014We were recently married here and there were quite a few cons; no lighting outdoors, the contact person returned my phone calls and emails only shortly before the wedding, and the cleaning crew was entirely unprofessional and rude. Never in my life have I ever had such rude interactions with staff. They yelled at us and slammed/locked the doors in our faces at 11pm- just as we were about to leave. Having a destination wedding proved to be very challenging with this venue, as I mentioned, Nancy and Vicky didn't return my phone calls until 10 days before my wedding. Even after the one time I was able to speak with someone they still did not answer my questions. They constantly sent emails requesting information we provided to them several times. Honestly, communication seems to be a big issue with them. It was difficult to then coordinate the other vendors I had in place. Also, Long Key prohibits the use of their chairs and tables outside and the only rental areas are the hall and the tree covered area to the left of the hall. On the upside, the venue was clean and ready for set-up at the beginning of our rental time. For the amount we paid, we should have gone to Thalatta Estate.
