The best to ever do it!
CJ and Dom are legitimately the best planners of all time. For real. If you’re on the fence, WORK WITH THEM!!!!!! They’re worth every cent and more I promise. We hired them as our wedding coordinators, so we didn’t have them as full service planners but honestly we should have! Not only did they make everything run SO smoothly and seamlessly, but they are incredibly detail oriented and leave no stone unturned in planning. On the day of the wedding, I was so grateful to them for keeping us informed of what was going on, what was coming up next, and always always always maintaining such a calming presence. I think that’s super underrated but CRUCIAL in a wedding planner!!! I’ve now been to a bunch of other weddings where I’ve witnessed the planners be so disorganized, absent, and worst of all, leaving their bride and groom stressed wondering if everything is under control. I don’t know anyone else who has had an experience like ours where we have NOTHING but good things to say about our planning team. I feel so lucky to have had them constantly communicating with us throughout the day, it really put us at ease. They are great at keeping a tight schedule, but can pivot flawlessly as necessary if anything changes during the event. They also just have such great reputations in the industry, all our other vendors were THRILLED when we told them who our planners wereCJ and Dom are legitimately the best planners of all time. Lonney Jane Productions = Absolute Perfection
When it comes to wedding planners, I'm fairly certain you could search the world over, and you will find no others who can hold a flame to the talent, precision, professionalism, artistry, and compassion of Cj and Dominic at Lonney Jane Productions. My partner and I were supposed to be married in October of 2020, but had to cancel due to the pandemic. When we decided to reschedule for November of 2021, we made the difficult decision to have a guest-less wedding, LIVEstreaming our ceremony for friends and our families. This meant that, at our wedding, there would be only myself, my partner, our doggie, and our vendors. Cj and Dom held the space so beautifully for us throughout our wedding day and evening, making what was an empty venue feel rich and overflowing with warmth and familiarity -- when you meet them, it's like visiting with dear friends, as if you've picked up right where you left off, and their ability to set such a calm, grounded, kindred tone is truly breathtaking. Cj and Dom are humble and unassuming, despite being the two most talented event coordinators on the planet, and their kindness will ensure that you wedding day is all that much smoother, connected, and meaningful, thanks to the energy they bring to what they do. Every detail, from the logistical to the creative, will astound you and take what you dreamed of and amplify it tenfold (at least). I could go on and on, but there really aren't words to express how talented this team is, nor are their words to describe how authentic and kind they are; there also are not words to express how much my partner and I appreciate them and the fact that they turned our guest-less wedding into the most memorable night of our lives. Do you want the best or do you want the very best?
It goes without saying that planning our wedding during the pandemic amid venue closures, regulations, and overall fear that our event was going to be canceled was stressful. But working with CJ and Dominick of Lonney Jane Productions honestly made the process smoother than we could ever have imagined. They are THE BEST. Hands down.
From the initial phone call, we knew we were in amazing hands. They worked endlessly to take our visions for our wedding and craftily brought them to life. Their eye for design, hard work, and thoughtful attitudes were greatly appreciated by us. They worked around our schedules (with different time zones) to really get a feel for what we wanted and they took the time to understand cultural incorporations that we wanted to add to the day.
When pandemic restrictions threatened the vibe of the wedding, CJ and Dom rescued us and then DELIVERED! We had to cancel with our original venue 1.5 months before the wedding date and they found us another venue almost immediately! It was so seamless-they were like our fairy godmothers. We trusted them without even getting to see the venue in person before the big day! If you are looking for planners that will help you truly create the bespoke, magical design of your dreams, look no further! They ARE the team! You will not regret it!
They are organized, professional, flexible, accommodating, and overall just amazing people! Their passion for design and planning is so transparent in the way they take care of you-each client becomes family for them. Dream Curators!
Once I booked my wedding venue at Race and Religious, I knew I needed to hire a designer/event planner to make my dreams come to life. I was searching for specific "alternative" wedding planners who could make my visions come to life. The moment I found LonneyJane i knew I wanted to hire them ASAP. We could not have had our dream wedding without Cj and Dominick. They are such creative, professional, and SWEET people. They helped us navigate a destination wedding from DC, listened to more than one venting sessions, and produced the most amazing day of my life. I didn't worry at all the day of my wedding because I knew they had every detail under control. They are also sooo nice which makes a world of difference when dealing with the stress of wedding planning. I absolutely could not have planned my New Orleans wedding without CJ.
I’m based in Brooklyn and used her event management services. Before she took complete control over my vendors a month out from our wedding day, she was a great resource for vendor referrals and talking me down from mini-panic attacks. She has the best, soothing personality. Prices are reasonable and she was always ready and willing to work with our budget. The day of the event I didn’t have to worry about a thing! Any hiccups on the day of the wedding were minor—we’ll remember it as the perfect dayI’m based in Brooklyn and used her event management services. We hired CJ and Dominick to assist with the day-of logistics for our wedding and we are so glad that we did! We were planning a destination wedding in New Orleans and it was so helpful to be able to communicate with CJ throughout the process (rather than the month of the wedding like many other planners stipulated if you weren't booking them for full planning services). Because we were out of town, we didn't actually meet CJ and Dominick in person until the day before our wedding, but we felt like we already knew them based on how responsive they had been via email and text. Since we were flying into New Orleans, it was extremely helpful that they allowed us to ship things to their house instead of having to pack everything. On our wedding day, they handled everything calmly and capably - including a minor issue we had with the caterer and some major issues with the dj and the band. They were so nice to our family who were with us throughout the day at the venue and our dog (who played a major part in our wedding). Calm and Collected
CJ is always collected, never riled and very even and calm which comes in handy throughout much of the process. She helped our day to go off without a hitch, coordinated our vendors flawlessly, made sure we were in compliance with all of our contracts, even packed up every one of our led candles for our centerpieces.CJ is always collected, never riled and very even and calm which comes in handy throughout much of the process. Poor Experience
If you are looking for a planner that my friends have described as UNETHICAL, UNSYMPATHETIC, and HEARTLESS, this is the planner for you! In all seriousness, it has taken me months to write this, as I have not wanted to relive the trauma of my experience with this vendor. I want this to be 100% factual so let me start with this—the contract I signed stated deposits were non-refundable. That said, my wedding was cancelled due to factors related to the pandemic and this vendor had zero flexibility or sympathy. Here’s a summary of my experience working with CJ:
• She requested a deposit equal to 80% of the total cost of services. This is egregious and abnormal. I paid this because I was trying to spend as much cash upfront, but looking back I should have pushed back on it.
• CJ more than once missed a deadline she outlined. If a vendor tells me they will send something in 3 business days, I expect to receive it then.
• CJ’s contract is created to protect her business and not the client. In most contracts, force majeure covers both parties, but I found out that provision did nothing to protect me.
• When I emailed CJ to let he know we’d need to cancel the wedding (a devastating email to write and relive now) due to pandemic-related loss of income she didn’t even offer an “I’m so sorry”—zero sympathy. Her response was basically—the deposit is non-refundable so let me know if you want to look at other dates. You do NOT want someone like this as your wedding planner or day of person! Her response (which I can’t bring myself to read again) absolutely floored me. All other vendors were so sympathetic and kind.
• I asked for even a partial refund and was told no—moving the date was my only option. After all previous communications I would not ever want to work with this person.
Please, please do yourself a favor and consider working with another vendor. I lost so much sleep and shed many tears over this whole scenario and I am writing this in hopes I can help another bride avoid the same. I don’t recall ever writing a negative review, but in this situation I felt it was warranted and necessary. Please message me if you’d like any additional info or recommendations! I did have some great vendors lined up prior to cancelling the wedding.
