Sylvie Sent on 10/20/2011I cannot say enough good things about Louise. I wanted to hug her every time I left her home. My dress was heavily beaded and extremely large on me, I had severe dress doubts due to how poorly my dress fit. Louise was able to do what the dress salon had told me was impossible and she made it seem not only like the easiest thing in the world, but also a given due to my petite frame. Louise calmed my nerves and turned my horribly poor fitting dress into the gown of my dreams. I suggested a slight change to my skirt and she got so excited over the change and thought it was a great idea. She wouldn't let me come back until she felt it was perfect. She talked with me about my wedding plans and was empathetic when I mentioned I was having issues. When I left her house after picking up my dress she gave me a hug and said she would pray the wedding would go smoothly and everything would work out. Her prices were also extremely reasonable, though I would have paid more just for the excellent personal service she provided. I so wish I could find reasons to work with Louise again, she was by far my favorite, favorite vendor. -

Tracee Sent on 10/13/2016Louise is absolutely amazing - she makes everything so stress free. She was able to transform my dress to fit me perfectly. Even when I lost extra weight right before my final fitting, she quickly made the adjustments and allowed me to pick it up at a later date. I would definitely recommend her to any friends/family who need alterations. -
User941042 Sent on 09/20/2012Louise was so awesome to work with! My dress needed a complete re-structuring, and resizing - and on top of that it was all lace. She took on the task with excitement, and basically rebuilt the entire front of my dress out of the lace from my train. I also enjoyed my fittings, because she's such a sweet, cheerful lady - she's fun to talk to.
Every time I came for a fitting, she would ask what else I wanted to change, and if everything was going the way I wanted it. She never hesitated at any request, and she executed everything perfectly! The dress turned out exactly how I envisioned it - because she was so intuitive and responsive. On top of that, her prices were completely reasonable! I was stunned when she told me what I owed - she put so much time and effort into the dress, I was sure I'd have to pay through the nose. But to her, it must have been a piece of cake.
I would recommend Louise to anyone and everyone!!! -

Her reputation speaks for itself as she's probably one of the most well known seamstress in the Twin Cities. Multiple bridal shops use her as well as individual brides. She's a wonderful woman and fun to work with - we can't speak highly enough of her! -

She did larger alterations on my dress (taking in the bodice, shortening, adding bustle, etc.), also has done smaller alterations on bridesmaids dresses and dress for my mother. I would highly recommend her. -

Louise altered a bridesmaids dress for me about 5 years ago. I cannot remember what I spent on that alteration but I had to go back at the last minute before the wedding I was in because she forgot to sew the straps up. She was friendly and made you feel comfortable and did great work once it was done. Fast forward to 2022 when I decided to have her alter my wedding dress. Alterations on the bodice were amazing- it fit me like a glove and she nailed it on the length of the dress and bustle. I had cups put in and Louise told me she was going to take the cups that the dress originally had in it before putting the new cups in. She ended up sewing the new cups into the old cups. This caused a problem on my wedding day when my photographer had to continually fix my dress because the old cups kept popping out. About 20 minutes before my ceremony, the strap broke on my dress. After looking at it, a family friend noted that there was only one single stitch holding the strap where it needed to be. This family friend fixed the strap and sewed the cups down. I had a belt added to the front which was not sewn down flush so it snagged on the front of my dress a few times. Louise was also supposed to steam my veil and when we got it out of the bag, it had a snag on the beading line where I lost several beads (this also had to be fixed by a family friend) and it was clear that if there was any steaming done, it was a rather quick job. I paid $260 for my wedding dress alterations and was a bit surprised at this price after having to call Louise the day before I was scheduled to pick up my dress, as she she told me she would call me when she had a price determined for me and did not. I would suggest that Louise provide a pricing list for alterations so that someone can have at least an estimate of what they will be paying and ensure that she does what she says she will when altering dresses. -
User1635185 Sent on 05/27/2014Dresses were not completed despite the seamstress having them for several weeks. After finally picking them up it was found that the workmanship was not up to par which she decided to discount by 50%. Sure the price ended up being great but with an in home business you get what you pay for
