Dakon was extremely responsive throughout the planning process. We held our rehearsal dinner and wedding at a family ranch. The teams both nights were on time, friendly and professional. The BBQ rehearsal dinner and Fajitas for the wedding were both wonderful, with generous portions. We looked at several vendors and his prices and quality can’t be beat. Highly recommend!

SO FREAKING DELICIOUS, so kind, so responsive, so wonderful. I cannot possibly recommend Lucky Spur Ranch Catering enough! Their venue is beautiful, but we were getting married somewhere else already and were delighted to find that they catered to other venues as well!

We had fajitas (chicken and beef) they were delicious, moist, and perfect, flour tortillas were perfect too and we had all the right fixins, pork scones (not something I would have ever tried and they were freaking DELICIOUS OMG OMG OMG), Street corn (in the cutest little cups that were also freaking delicious), and jalepeño poppers (I didn't have these bc I don't like jalepeños) but our guests and my husband loved them and I quote "those were DANK 11/10 recommend".

Everyone we talked to was so kind, the tasting was so much fun and when we move back to DFW we will for sure come hang out at Mule Barn!!! Thanks so much, if you're even THINKING about hiring this vendor DO IT DO IT DO IT RIGHT NOW YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT!!!!!!!!!!

Lucky Spur was one of the best vendors we could have ever chosen! Sharie, Dakon, Brandie, and Chef Julio were amazing throughout any of the planning. Sharie was easy to get in touch with regarding any questions about the venue, overnight accommodations, bridal portraits on site, ANYTHING. Brandie was amazing to work with as well for anything related to the catering tastings, rehearsal dinner location and menu, and the day of coordinating with the food and table arrangements. I don't think there was one issue or question that arose that neither of the team at Lucky Spur could not answer or take care of. Chef Julio's food was DELICIOUS! We did street tacos for the wedding and Italian food for the rehearsal dinner, both catered by Lonesome Spur. Both meals were RAVED about among wedding guests both nights and we were so thankful for Chef Julio's food. Dakon was an absolute gem to work with as well throughout all of this planning as well! We are so thankful for this venue allowing such a beautiful backdrop for our special day, it wouldn't have been the same at a different venue!

The words I heard after my daughter's wedding were, "perfect", "beautiful", "best wedding food ever", "how did you find this venue!?!". So beautiful and so much fun!

If I could give Lucky Spur Ranch and all the incredible staff 10 stars I would. From start to finish Sharie, Dakon, Brandie, and Juan were gems to work with. We bought the weekend package as my husband and I wanted a venue where our family and almost all of our bridal party could stay on the property. It was so worth it to have the venue a day prior to set up, host our rehearsal dinner there, and not have to worry about anything on our wedding day. After our wedding we had an "After Party" in the Saloon which I highly recommend! The property is gorgeous and well kept and our pictures with the animals were stunning. Our guests are still talking about how incredible our venue was and how the food was out of this world! I could go on and on about how wonderful everything and everyone was but I hope you find out yourself because you CANNOT go wrong having your wedding at Lucky Spur Ranch!

This venue is gorgeous and our immediate family and party were able to stay on premises. This venue was everything me and my husband could have asked for. Not only is it gorgeous for the ceremony, the houses and rooms that are available with the venue are beautiful and perfect if you are wanting to keep those in the party close during the weekend. We did not have to leave the venue for anything. We had numerous amounts of compliments on how pretty the venue was. Truly everything we had ever wanted for our big day. The staff, coordinator, owner, bartenders, and chef were all absolutely wonderful, friendly and easy to work with. I highly recommend this venue to anyone!

Words cannot describe how amazingly perfect my wedding weekend was at Lucky Spur Ranch! Dakon and the staff rolled out the red carpet for us and made it a moment of a lifetime! As guests were arriving the Longhorns were out grassing and there were beautiful horses in the stables as people were walking up to the cermony. Love love love this since we have our own longhorns at home. Being able to stay the night on site the day before and day of was a huge plus. Made it easy for everyone. My guests went on and on about how gorgeous and perfect the venue was and how much fun they had. Thank you so much Lucky Spur Ranch for the wedding of my dreams!

After visiting multiple wedding venues, our daughter fell in love with Lucky Spur Ranch, especially the doors and longhorns. Sharie, with Lucky Spur Ranch, was excellent to work with and was there to answer any questions asked. Unfortunately the weather did not allow us to have the ceremony outside but having it inside was a perfect second location.

I am so excited that we will be having our wedding at Lucky Spur!

Lucky Spur was the first vendors I booked in early 2018, after rescheduling our wedding twice we finally got married August 2020 and Sharie was with us every step of the way, the whole two and half years! I was always asking questions and would get a quick answer. You could even text them, which I used for more urgent questions. The ranch is amazing and all my guest were so impressed. The bridal suit was totally big enough for me, my six bridesmaids, my 2 year old daughter, three moms, one makeup artist & one hair stylist. The grooms suite was plenty big enough also and they even hung out in the saloon playing pool & watching TV before the ceremony. Highly recommend this venue for any event!

If you book The Lucky Spur make sure you ask for Chris! I had some tiny meltdowns the morning of my wedding and he was there fixing everything and made my vision come to life! This venue is beautiful!

Absolutely amazing in every way! It was so convenient to have the whole property for two nights! Dakon and Sharie answered any and all my questions super fast! Their staff was so friendly and helpful! The food was so delicious and we had so many compliments on both the food and how beautiful the venue was! Being able to have my horse on site made my wedding even more special! The guys loved being able to go get some nerves out and have their guy time while skeet shooting! I literally could go on and on about how absolutely amazing this venue is! Thank you so much to everyone at lucky spur ranch!!!

Guys! I cannot say enough good things about this place. It was beyond any expectations I had. First, Sharie was amazing. She truly is a blessing and made this experience the best. I could call/email her with any questions, and she would respond no matter what. When it came to the big things, Dakon made sure everything was exactly how I wanted it. The venue itself is exceptional and extraordinary. It is truly a gem hiding out there in Justin. The two things I highly recommend is taking them up on their in house catering and housing. Our wedding guests raved about how good the food was. Julio and Dakon listened and made sure the food was exactly how we wanted. The housing was great and our wedding party loved the easiness of staying at the venue! This is definitely THE dream venue!

I can't say enough great things about Sheri and Dakon! They were great to work with. My husband and I turned away from this venue in the beginning and ended up coming right back. They made our day so special!

I would recommend to everyone who wants a rustic yet elegant venue.

This is an awesome new venue. Dakon and Kari were easy to work with and made our wedding just what we wanted. They were so flexible and worked so hard to make sure the venue was ready. I highly recommend this venue. They helped coordinate catering/bartenders and security. Kari has a great sense of style and really helped the reception decor all come together. She made the entire wedding day run so smoothly so that I didn't have to worry about a thing.

Dakon, the owner, was so much help! He answered every single question that my mom and I had. He even gave us a personal tour of the entire property. I can't wait to get married at this beautiful venue!

We had our wedding ceremony and reception at the Lucky Spur and it was such a beautiful venue. Our guests raved about the gorgeous setting for our special day.

With this being said, we definitely experienced some shortcomings from the venue. Up until the big day, we had many issues with communication. It was difficult to get consistent answers or updates in a timely manner from the venue and this left us feeling less than confident in their services going into our big day. Before our event, there was a 4-day, 500 person wedding and the venue really struggled to recover from this in time for our event. We understand that this was a larger event than they have dealt with before, but this should not have affected our big day.

Don’t get me wrong, it was a beautiful venue and I’m glad we got married there, but our event was only successful due to my 15 months of detailed planning and a vendor team (along with my parents) that went above and beyond their responsibilities to fill in where the venue lacked.

Lucky Spur is a great concept especially with the sleeping accommodations; however, I should have checked more reviews before booking. We had bed bugs on the beds and several bugs in the shower/tub and sinks. I provided pictures of the bugs to the sales manager, and she did absolutely nothing about it but say I'll let the owner know. We were supposed to stay there Friday and Saturday night, however, didn't sleep there at all. We mentioned the bugs to Sharie (sales manager) on Friday evening and she didn't even bother to respond back to at least acknowledge that she got my text. I had to call her Saturday morning and ask if she got my texts and all she is said is yes and she would let the owner know. I was hoping they would make it right on Saturday which was the day of the wedding, however, they didn't even send housekeeping to clean the room. I was extremely disappointed and embarrassed for all the guest we hosted and who spent the night there. The hot tub was not usable, it had leaves and dirt in it. We found used contact lenses in one of the rooms on the nightstand. Trash in the event space. They also failed to place the correct number of tables for the reception. And lastly, they threw away the food we asked them to box up for us after the wedding. Very disappointed with this venue and both the sales manager Sharie and the owner Dakon. Would never recommend.

This is in response to the review thread between my wife and Dakon because I can not respond to his message directly.

I was also present during the conversation on Saturday morning, neither of us said it was just one bug on the bed, and my father in-law has a video of him counting out the bugs present on multiple beds. You also conveniently failed to address in your reply the bugs that were covering our own suite's sinks, shower, and bed, separate from the bunk house that you mentioned. Your condescending reply to a paying customer reflects your character as a person and business owner and failing to bring up some crucial information is telling. "I'm assuming you have never had a bug in your house?" Is deflecting the issue and not a valid excuse considering the price tag, we're from the Texas hill country and no stranger to bugs so this statement being doubled down on was a slap in the face for both me and my wife. We looked into your facebook reviews too, and it seems your ranch has had issues with pests before with one of Sharie's responses to a guest complaining of being bitten by bugs in your beds was she demanded that the guest send her a doctor's note proving the BITES from bugs in the beds were bed bug bites. It's an unprofessional response to a health and sanitation issue - the point should be that your guests who spend hard earned money here are getting bitten by bugs in their beds regardless of what kind. Same with the hot tub, that should have been ready for us to use before we even got there, and while you filled it, it was still dirty after the fact. You also failed to respond to the cups with cigarette butts laying around the ranch that were still present despite your claims of a thorough cleanup on Saturday.

For you to claim that you and your team set up additional tables at no cost is a misleading statement. There is nothing in our invoices for a cost for tables, only for food, and both Sharie and Jennica said that the tables and set up were part of the cost. Not that it mattered because our wedding party - not you or your team - set up the 2 extra tables on Friday through finding the linens, chargers, and plates in the reception hall storage after the aforementioned interaction with your catering team.

Your statement over leftovers is also misleading, Jennica claimed there were no leftovers, but now you're saying there were some leftovers - so which is it? If there were some, we were promised in person at our tasting that we can take them home with Jennica's words being "Of course you can take them home, you paid for it."

You're correct in saying you apologized in person, but only specifically about the behavior of your staff about the floorplan. And our wedding was great, our other vendors and wedding party went above and beyond to ensure that it would be, Lucky Spur did not, and our stay was not included in that comment about it being great.

Again, we're not trying to ruin your business, but others should be aware so that hopefully they do not have an experience like our's.

Don't get me wrong, we loved the concept of Lucky Spur, but the execution left so much to be desired. For one, the behavior and dismissive attitude of the owner Dakon, event manager Sharie, and the catering manager Jennica was ridiculous. Considering a weekend package is $25,000 for the space alone, you would think that you would be getting top notch service. Maybe for Dakon and Sharie that's pocket change but my family works hard for the money we earn and they saved up quite a bit for my husband, myself, and our wedding party to stay there and to be treated the way we were was appalling.

First off: bugs. bugs in the beds, bugs in the showers, bugs crawling out of every drain. I understand it's a ranch but to come back from our wedding to our suite and seeing our countertop COVERED in bugs coming our of the drain and some of my guests not being able to stay for either Friday or Saturday night because of bugs they found in their sheets is absolutely unacceptable. We told Dakon and Sharie and BOTH of their responses were, "Well....they're not 'bed bugs'...just...bugs in the beds.." um??? comforting i guess. Housekeeping also did not properly clean the rooms. My husband found used contact lenses on our nightstand which is a health hazard. Other guests reported finding similar things from the previous guests in their rooms and around the ranch.

The ceremony space had trash and leftover food all over the ground and chairs that my wedding party helped us pick up, there were cups filled with water and cigarette butts all over the property when we arrived that we were promised would get "cleaned up on Saturday" (the day of the wedding) and they were not and were still there by the time guests were arriving.

The hot tub was completely unusable with low water and filled with dirt, leaves, and debris, and when we reported it on Friday we were promised by Sharie "Ok. I will let staff know to check ASAP." the groundskeeper that was there was making out with someone in the parking lot and the hot tub did not get fixed on Friday. My husband and I told Dakon about the hot tub in person on Saturday, he said he'd take a look at it and all he did was fill up the hot tub, didn't even clean it or give us any kind of update after the fact.

The catering staff ignored the floorplan I sent them with 20 tables for guests and a sweetheart table and instead gave us 18 tables with no sweetheart table. I asked some of the workers who were grabbing tables for a different event what happened and they said "Well, we went off of your guest count." "But I wanted 20 tables. Not all of my guests are going to want to sit next to each other." "We need these tables for another event" was their response. We looked at where they kept the tables after they took what they needed for their other event and sure enough there were 6 more tables left. Our sweetheart table was also broken - we had to repair that too.

Jennica also promised that we could take home the leftovers for the buffet line since we paid for it, obviously. We instead saw the catering staff tossing everything in the trash at the end of the night. When asking Jennica about keeping the leftovers over email she said that there were no leftovers and then never responded when we brought up that we saw the catering staff throwing our food away.

We never once got an apology from Dakon, Sharie, or Jennica for anything other than the floorplan mess up. They would ignore our text messages or certain questions we asked and gave us short, rude responses. Book at your own risk.
