Beautiful attention to detail!
Melissa of Lux Light Photography was excellent to work with. Her emails including details and timelines for the day ensured that everything ran smoothly and that I felt comfortable as the bride. On the day of she was so attentive to the schedule and was great at making sure all of the photos I wanted were taken. Her amazing energy and attitude kept everyone in high spirits and she captured so many wonderful moments!Melissa of Lux Light Photography was excellent to work with. On the day of she was so attentive to the schedule and was great at making sure all of the photos I wanted were taken. Amazing Northern Michigan Wedding Photographer!
I seriously cannot adequately express in words how great it was to use Lux Light Photography as our wedding photographer for our September 1st Castle Farms wedding. Melissa was an absolutely joy to work with. My (now!) husband and I live in Texas and had to plan our Northern Michigan wedding from afar. Essentially, all I had to primarily rely on was reviews on sites like these. From our initial contact with Melissa, inquiring if our wedding date was available, she was very prompt, kind, fun, and incredibly helpful in all of her correspondence with us. This girl seriously knows weddings! She will be able to assist you with just about anything wedding related – not just pictures! She was very instrumental in helping us create a wedding day timeline. My husband and I flew into Michigan a couple of months before our wedding and she was even able to meet with us to go over things. On the wedding day itself, Melissa and her assistant, Ashley, were awesome to work with. They gave amazing directions for all of the poses and honestly, it was very natural and nothing felt forced. After the wedding, we did not have to wait very long at all to receive our pictures. When we did, we were amazed! Literally all of the wedding pictures are gorgeous. If you’re like me and relying heavily on reviews when choosing vendors, do yourself a favor and choose Lux Light Photography! Melissa and her team do not disappoint and are so talented!!I seriously cannot adequately express in words how great it was to use Lux Light Photography as our wedding photographer for our September 1st Castle Farms wedding. Melissa was AMAZING!!! She was so organized with everything leading up to the wedding, I didn't have any concerns or questions about how the day would go as she helped me each step of the way through emails, care packages, and info sheets. We were on a budget for our wedding and Melissa was very understanding and accommodating by designing us our own package that fit our needs. Her honesty and flexibility were refreshing as the wedding industry is full of propoganda and people who take advantage.
On the morning of our wedding, she went above and beyond her photographer duties by fastening boutonnieres, checking on our party bus, and just keeping an overall calmness about her. She was fantastic with our families and I CANNOT WAIT to see our pictures.
3 of my 4 bridesmaids want to use her for their own weddings! My husband was nervous about having the pictures look or feel "too staged" and Melissa made him feel so comfortable, he can't stop talking about seeing the pictures too!Melissa was AMAZING!!! BEST CHOICE WE MADE FOR OUR ENTIRE WEDDING!!! I don’t even know where to begin, because there really are no words for how amazing Melissa is. She photographed our engagement pictures, my boudoir shoot, and our wedding, and she exceeded our expectations over and over. She was very responsive before our wedding, and a pleasure to work with while we planned everything. During the shoots she was fun, fast and professional, and she was great with our guests during the reception. She was quick with getting pictures to us, did a great job of editing and our final pictures were stunning. We would recommend Lux Light Photography to absolutely anyone and everyone! I am having a small wedding with no reception so finding a photographer that was willing to accommodate a smaller budget and time frame was difficult, Lux Light was beyond helpful and had a wide array of packages that accommodate every type of budget. They were very quick to respond & have kept in contact since i booked them a month ago! -UPDATE- Melissa was beyond amazing and made the picture process feel so easy and fun!! Melissa and her crew are fantastic with the amount of professionalism they bring and are very personable. Melissa made the entire planning process a breeze and was always willing to chat about anything, it didn't have to be photography related and really helped me to relax and feel confident with the vendors we ended up selecting for our wedding since we aren't from the T.C. area.
Meg was so kind and and really helped to make my now husband relax and feel comfortable, which is saying a lot, since he is normally really shy and doesn't like to have his picture taken.
Katharine was super friendly and made all of us gals laugh while we were getting ready. At the reception she was always capturing moments that I thought were precious.

All brides need to hire Melissa right now!!! Her photography skills are amazing and the finished photos are utterly stunning! Her use of light is so beautiful and unique, you will most definitely have that gorgeous bridal glow in all your photos! She made the day go so smoothly and helped in more ways than just being the photographer! Melissa was an absolute pleasure to work with. She was very helpful with my wedding questions and concerns unrelated to photography as well! In addition to being a wonderful photographer she helped coordinate on the day of the wedding. She did an incredible job on both our wedding and engagement pictures. She is a very sweet person with a kind heart! I felt like she was legitimately happy to be apart of my wedding day. Highly recommended!!!Melissa was an absolute pleasure to work with. Maternity Photos
We hired Melissa to do out maternity photos and have the best experience. She made us feel comfortable and walked us though the best positions since we were a bit newer to the maternity shoot scene! The day of our shoot there was a storm headed our way. She was very accommodating and was able to reschedule us for the following day when weather permitted!
