We had a great experience working with Made From Skratch! Andrew, the owner, was super friendly and timely in his responses, and the DJ who ended up working our event, Johnny, was the same! He showed up early to make sure he was set up in time, he ran with my music recommendations for the reception, but also did a fantastic job of fading into a new song when people weren't feeling it, or playing more of what people were really loving, and he kept the dance floor busy all night! Andrew worked with us on a special package since we had a quartet for the ceremony and just needed a DJ for the reception, and overall, had 0 issues with anyone on his team! Great experience, through and through. I think our favorite part was at the end of the night when Johnny surprised us by having our guests make a circle around us and do a group hug, haha. It was such a sweet way to end the night! HIghly, highly recommend Made from Skratch! -

Andrew was our wedding DJ and was nothing short of amazing!! We got so many compliments on the music. Everything flowed so naturally and he kept the crowd going all night. All we had to do was give him a general idea of what we wanted and he took it from there. Anytime I had a question, Andrew was there to share his expertise. He also managed the music for our ceremony and it was spot on PERFECT!! He made my grand entrance vision come to life! You can’t go wrong with hiring Andrew. He’s the best of the best!! -

We initially booked with Andrew for our April 25th wedding, but had to postpone. They were so flexible working with us on our new dates and we ended up working with DJ Trey (Victor) for our new date. He was so professional when we spoke with him to go over the details before the big day and was fantastic on the day of our wedding! He ran with all of our unique music requests and kept our guests on the dance floor (masked up, don't worry!) with a great mix of music throughout the evening! -

Andrew was a phenomenal DJ. He read our crowd perfectly, mixed songs, and kept the dance floor full the entire night. He was amazing and we definitely recommend him for any wedding! -

My daughter and I booked Madefromskratch in September 2020 for her wedding scheduled for 2/14/2021, in Austin, Texas area. We paid in full in September. Two days before the wedding, the venue had to change locations due to having no power or water due to the ice storm that was affecting the area. The DJ canceled services because they said that the contract was broken due to the venue change. The contract has an Act of God clause. They said it was poor planning on our part and that they could not possibly go to the rescheduled venue, which was still the same date, just a different location. They have refused to refund any money at all. None of this was our fault or our doing. It was all due to the storm that went through Austin and surrounding area that weekend. This business is lacking professionalism and ethics. I would not recommend them to anyone!
In response to your response...99% of the guests were from another state. Choosing another date for the wedding was not feasible. The wedding venue changed locations...we did not have an option. And yes they ultimately canceled due to the ACT OF GOD snow/ice storm that shut down the whole area for a week. The whole thing was out of our control due to a storm. We did not cancel. We cannot reschedule and expect guests to go back to Texas for another wedding. The Act of God was the reason for this wedding not happening as planned. Thank you for your review Michelle! We did offer a solution to rectify the problem. We offered a new date as well as the option to honor your contract at The Venue we were originally hired to perform at. You declined. The new venue that was selected was almost 2 HRS AWAY from the original location. Not to mention that venue ultimately canceled your contract as well because of the issue of safety. We had 4 weddings cancel that weekend and all were ultimately rescheduled for later dates with no fees or issues. Thank you for your feedback. -

Andrew Trevino was a complete nightmare. He had me seething with rage. Having officially gotten married, no complaints about anyone else. Andrew Trevino showed behavior and actions similar to what one might expect from a con-artist and/or thief. Huge mistake paying him and his shady company Made in Skratch in full prior to meeting with him. It was nearly IMPOSSIBLE to get a hold of him whether it was through emails, text, or phone calls. In total, he CANCELLED AT LEAST FIVE MEETINGS with us. 1st meeting, he cancelled due to him having the flu. Reasonable. 2nd cancelled due to the death of his uncle. Understandable, out of his control, we all go through it at some point. Next meeting, he stated his wife, whom he recently divorced (great for you to let me know about your divorce as I plan for my wedding, real professional,) dropped off his kids, and he had no time to get a baby sitter. 2nd time he said his ex wife had an emergency, which was why she was dropping off the kids. I was worried at this point, but still gave him the benefit of the doubt. We picked a new date that worked. This next part, my fiancé and I were joking about the night before, knowing he would cancel again, and sure enough…On the day ANDREW AGREED TO, he texted us HOURS before our meeting, “father in law is having open heart surgery today and me and the kiddos also have the flu”. EXCUSE AFTER EXCUSE. Anybody in their right mind at this point would get very worried that this loser would not be able to make it on a specific date/time. He can’t even make thirty minutes for us prior to our wedding after paying him more than $1200. After many unanswered texts, and bombarding him with calls, FINALLY, I was able to get him on the phone. Andrew sounded pathetic and overwhelmed, I felt sorry for him. At this point, I was horrified as he told me he was FORCED TO MISS A WEDDING the past weekend. My worst fears were already happening to another one of his “clients”. We requested another DJ, he had a few different ones on his website. We didn’t have the money to lose. We already paid this irresponsible person, surely the other DJs must be more professional. WRONG! After our request, a few days went by and he got back to us w/ Johnny Murphy. We tried everything to contact Johnny, and didn’t get a response from him either. Could you imagine making money this way? No self-respecting businessperson would ever go out of the way to make himself and his business look so bad at every single step of the way. We’re definitely not the first couple to pay him, only to find doesn’t give a f*** anymore, so he can ignore us and irritate us until we ask for a refund, as any reasonable person would do. When I asked for a refund he said it was impossible because it was within 90 day window. BS. This dude came very close to ruining our wedding. Refusing to meet, purposely delaying any correspondence so he can refuse to refund us… ANDREW TREVINO IS A CROOK. A WARNING!!! Do not book Andrew Trevino, HE COULD RUIN YOUR WEDDING! We heard that he was affordable, but i see how he’s stayed in business. For all I know Made in Skratch are con artists/scammers. A lot of these positive reviews could be from anyone, friends, family or even him and his employees. We were too patient in dealing with him. I believe he delayed us meeting him intentionally so that we could not have a refund. Andrew Trevino and his company Made From Skratch have NO INTEGRITY. DO NOT LET HIM RUIN YOUR WEDDING -

Stay Away Or Regret
I contracted Made From Skratch Weddings (see contract below) to provide DJ/Emcee services in English and Spanish for our wedding on Saturday, December 21st. Andrew T., the company owner, contacted me first to discuss our needs for the wedding. Based on the Spanish-speaking population that would attend our wedding and my taste in music, he recommended DJ Abe and had him reach out to me a few days later. The day before the wedding I messaged the DJ and asked him if he had any questions or needed anything from me. He replied, "I think I'm good on my end sir...What time are we slated to start the ceremony?" Wondering why he would ask a question like that the day before the wedding, I said 3:15 PM and then asked what time he would arrive. He texted back, "I will try and be there by 1 or 1:30 for set up and sound check." I replied, "Sounds good!" Our special day had arrived and Abe, the DJ, ran two hours late. To start the ceremony on time, I asked my friend to play the music from my phone via an aux cable. The DJ arrived around 3:20 PM and started to set up in the hall for the cocktail hour. During the cocktail hour, Abe realized he had forgotten the uplighting, so he told the wedding coordinator that he would need to run to his house to get lights. He was gone for about 45 minutes. My wife and I literally heard the music stop from outside the hall while we were taking our pictures. Imagine that. After taking pictures, the bridal party re-entered the hall to music played by the DJ. The DJ did not translate anything in Spanish or hype up the guests the entire night. He also seemed to be unfamiliar with the Vibora, a Mexican wedding tradition, and failed to give any instructions for it. He also failed to emcee the garter toss, bouquet toss, and even the first dance. It was a disaster and extremely embarrassing. Guests left early and even made comments to me and my wife about the DJ. My wife and I were both so upset by the DJ's services that I messaged the company owner during the wedding while we were supposed to be enjoying our day. Andrew called me on Monday, December 23rd to discuss our experience. During that call, Andrew took ownership of the issue, apologized, and said that he would call me the next day to provide a resolution. After two days of not hearing from him, I called Andrew again. He did not answer. Since then, he has ignored all of my calls and text messages. It is now a little over two weeks after our wedding and he has yet to respond to me. I highly discourage anyone from contracting Made From Skratch Weddings for any service, especially after the way the company owner did not fulfill his end of the contract or keep his word. Shoddy business practices! A wedding is a special day that you cannot redo or get back; do NOT take a risk with Made From Skratch Weddings. You will regret it. -
