The Mahr String Quartet did a fantastic job at our wedding! The music was beautiful and flowed perfectly. We loved hearing our song in a way we'd never heard it before as we walked back down the aisle together. We had no issues, and all communication was professional and timely. August 2018 Wedding Ceremony Music
Melissa was absolutely amazing to work with right from the start! I hadn’t been to many weddings before so I didn’t know anything about ceremony music. I knew I didn’t want the traditional “here comes the bride” and that was about it. She was able to help me decide on songs all through email and never seemed annoyed at my lack of knowledge or inability to make a quick decision. Melissa also laughed with me when I mistakenly dated a check for 2017 instead of 2018 which I thought perfectly showed her lightheartedness. We booked the full quartet for just the ceremony and they did an amazing job!Mahr String Quartet's reply:

Sally C. Sent on 03/26/2020Buyer Beware! Had to reschedule wedding (like we wanted to...)
During the COVID-19 virus shut down, we had to reschedule our date. Mahr Quartet was the only vendor that we couldn't reschedule or come to an agreement. Wouldn't have a conversation about refunding our deposit when the fall date didn't work for them. Just that we were fortunate that they would waive the rest of the performance fee. Really?Mahr String Quartet's reply:
As you have chosen to make your complaint public, I will take the opportunity to share my side. I have records of our 8 emails back and forth, so that certainly counts as a conversation. Our signed contract states that the retainer is non-refundable. As I mentioned in my emails, I would have gladly transferred your deposit in kind had we been available on the new date. As mentioned, I also would have provided a list of our available dates/times upon request. I was only given the one date. Although your new date and time is retained by another couple, I did offer that if your son and his bride could have their ceremony just one hour earlier, we could absolutely make it work. Of course, I am canceling your balance without hesitation. In 20 (+) years, we've never NOT played a wedding. We've certainly never been in this situation, (and I would not wish this upon any couple or vendor), so I wanted to be sure I was doing the right thing for both sides. I had my attorney look over the contract. He said the it makes it clear that we get to keep the deposit. We do wish the couple all the best during this tough time and in their future as a married couple.
