Writing a recommendation for Marisa is both hard and easy at the same time. Hard because there are sooo many ways to describe Marisa in so many wonderful ways, and there aren't enough characters available to grasp how amazing she truly is - Easy, because she's well... the best! We instantly connected over The Office and our love for our dogs. She plays such a key part in the day and I have to admit, although my day was not exactly perfect (it spontaneously rained constantly throughout the day even while the sun was shining LOL), she made everything SO seamless! We took advantage of the sun, dry spots, timing in-between rain showers. Prior to the wedding, she is with you every step of the way. She helps with day-of timelines (which let me tell ya... YOU NEED TO DO THAT.) She also has you fill out a questionnaire of allllll the details you might not have thought of. Like getting ready locations (yeah, you think of those - but when do you think about telling vendors?). This was something that I was able to cross off my list without doing anything additional. And on the day of, she communicated if my husband and I were taking longer than anticipated for greeting tables. This was huge because all I wanted to do was dance for as long as I could. She knew this was important and didn't hesitate to step up when we were starting to get off track. Granted this is YOUR wedding day, but she's been to a few weddings here and there LOL. She knows what works, what might be more difficult, and how to obtain all your goals for YOUR special day. She is the 'YES' person you need to complete your special day. Want to do a photo dash? She'll make time for it. Want to bring your pet along? She's down. My mother made my dress, and she was extremely worried about whether or not my dress would be "fluffed" correctly, or if the veil was going to be twisted. Marisa instantly took all the worries from her and allowed my mom to enjoy the day along with everyone else. If you're still reading this and you haven't inquired, I have no words for you.. you're wasting time. I knew I wanted to invest in a "good photographer" but I never thought in a million years I would have someone like Marisa. Whether she likes it or not, she will forever be apart of our family. If you are STILLL reading - go inquire immediately, tell her exactly what you want, then you can sit back & relax, because this was the least stressful part of the entire process (that is, once I found her -

We cannot say enough wonderful things about Marisa! She was so amazing to work with right from the start. Once we inquired & booked her a year and a half prior to our wedding, we knew we had made the right choice. She is extremely organized, kind, and personable and my husband and I immediately felt relief knowing we could trust her and would be comfortable working with her during and prior to our wedding. She provided her wedding guide upon booking which was so helpful to us in booking other vendors and preparing for our event. Marisa communicated with us regularly and was available for questions as the wedding approached, and worked with us to create the timeline that accommodated all parts of our event. Marisa’s service was above and beyond the beautiful photos she captured, not only did she capture every moment of the day beautifully, but it felt like having a friend and wedding expert there with us as she worked. Now the photos.. we were totally blown away once we received them! Marisa sent us 200+ “sneak peeks” in less than a week after the wedding! We were so impressed to get them so quickly, and at how many absolutely stunning shots she got. Every special moment and highlight of the day was captured and we felt like we were reliving the day as we looked through our gallery. Everyone we shared photos with was amazed at how beautifully all aspects of the day were captured and were impressed that they never even noticed photographers around which made everything feel seamless and natural. We are so grateful that we chose to hire Marisa for our special day! -

The best photographer ever
HIRE MLP for all your photography needs! Marisa is absolutely amazing through the entire process! She was quick to respond when we inquired and from that day on was there for every step of the way! I don’t know what I would have done without her through the planning process. She’s so friendly and easy to get along with and she makes you feel so comfortable when getting your pictures taken from our engagement photos to the boudoir shoot and on our wedding day. The PICTURES WERE AMAZING!!! -

Our favorite lady!
Marisa - our photography angel!! Marisa shot both our engagement and wedding photos and her work is nothing short of STUNNING. I found her after she shot a friend’s wedding years ago whose photos I just loved, and I was steadfast on having her as our photographer from that day forward. We are so thankful that we had her. She is such a dream to work with! She makes the whole process fun and natural. Marisa makes you feel like your best friend is taking the pictures. She has so many helpful tips and tricks, and is an open book when it comes to questions about all things wedding related. She isn’t just a photographer, she is a hype girl, confidant, and a wealth of knowledge during the entire process. She is so passionate about her couples and the work that she does speaks for itself. Upon receiving our photos each time we were so blown away… like jumping up and down, jaws on the floor, “omg LOOK AT THESE!!” blown away. Grateful is an understatement when it comes to talking about how much we appreciate having her in our corner during this season of our lives. It would not have been the same without her. She is truly the best!! -

Hiring Marisa as our photographer was hands down one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. A photographer friend told us about her and we absolutely fell in love with her photos on social media. Then after our first call with her, we were confident she would be easy to work with, be extremely organized, make us feel like we were the only couple she was working with, and provide us with the most stunning gallery of photos from our engagement and wedding day. And she delivered!!! Marisa is so kind, she is so talented, and her artistic vision behind the camera is unmatched. I am absolutely obsessed with every photo she sent us. She got sneak peaks back to us SO QUICKLY! We didn’t have to wait in anticipation to see our photos and she gave us a pretty significant sneak peak each time which was so fun!!! The attention to detail, the way she focuses on lighting, and the vibrance of her photos is something we loved. During the engagement shoot and on wedding day, she was so comfortable to be around. She gave you clear instructions that made the process so natural. She truly captured our love and didn’t just put us in poses. She was extremely easy to communicate with and stuck to the timeline she promised. I would recommend Marisa to anyone that is looking for a photographer for their wedding. We love Marisa Lyon Photography!!
Marisa and her team are hands down amazing!! The best decision my husband and I made for our wedding was hiring MLP to capture our day. From the initial phone conversation to our wedding day, Marisa was sweet, helpful, professional and personable. She is not only fun to work with but she makes you feel comfortable in front the camera with her calming presence and expertise. Marisa helped our day flow seamlessly and I would have been so lost without her! As if that’s not enough, her photos left my husband and I absolutely speechless! She captured such special moments in a timeless, beautiful and sophisticated way. Marisa, is such a genuine soul and we can’t thank her enough for making our day perfect and giving us the greatest gifts to look back on. Above and beyond all of your expectations!
Marisa is one of a kind and seriously the BEST at what she does!!!! She makes you feel comfortable during your time together and feel beautiful and confident! Oh and the photos!!! I cannot say enough good things! I look at them every day and just cry and smile. She captures you and your love for one another so perfectly. I think about my wedding day often and just looking at my photos. It takes me back to that exact time and place. Her and her team do an impeccable job of capturing every single emotion! You will not only have the best photographer, but you will leave with a good friend at the end of the day who genuinely cares about you and your wedding day! Cannot recommend her enough!! -

Marisa has been such a blessing throughout the entire wedding planning process. She truly cares about her couples and goes above and beyond what I could have ever expected. We worked together to establish a timeline, and she helped us both understand everything that is involved in putting together our day. Everything went better than we could have ever expected, and we have her to thank for all of it. Her work is outstanding. Truly some of my favorite wedding pictures I’ve ever seen, and I’m not just saying that because they are ours. She captured every moment of our day so beautifully. When I go through our photos, it takes me right back to every moment and every feeling. I couldn’t imagine having anyone else there with us. -

When I first saw Marisa’s photos from a friend’s wedding I fell in love with her work! As soon as we got engaged I was emailing Marisa that week because I just knew I had to have her capture our special day! To this day I’m still in awe over our engagement and wedding pictures! Our wedding day was so easy going with all of Marisa’s help in planning! We couldn’t of done it without her!!🤍 So don’t second guess yourself on hiring Marisa because she will be booked, she’s just that amazing at her job! I promise it’s worth every penny and you’ll be so thankful you chose her when you see your pictures! -

Above and Beyond
We hired Marisa and her team to photograph our wedding on August 13,2022. Marisa made the entire process smooth and was available anytime to help answer questions and provide advice. She helped plan our timeline for the entire wedding day down to the last minute. This was so helpful as we did not have a wedding coordinator. The schedule helped keep everything on track and made the wedding day go smoothly. Since I received the sneak peak, I have not stopped looking at the pictures. I am absolutely in love with each and everyone!! I am so excited to see the rest. Her associate, Lauren and a second assistant, were our photographers and they were amazing. Both were so fun and creative with positioning to create unique photos. There personalities allowed us to be natural during the shoot and not feel awkward kissing in front of the camera or doing “silly” movements to create the shot. We have received so many compliments on the pictures shared so far. I highly recommend Marisa Lyon to anyone looking for a photographer to capture a moment you never want to forget. As I look back at pictures, I find myself reliving the moment the picture was taken! Exactly what you want for a special moment 💕

Where to even start with how amazing Marisa is!!
Marisa is the best photographer in the Cleveland area hands down. I knew from the moment that I was going to be getting married that I just had to have her as my photographer. I was hooked as soon as I started following her pages. She has such a great eye and knows how to capture the essence of the couple or individual she is shooting. You can tell she genuinely loves her career and is genuinely excited to be part of her couples big day. It shows in person and through her work.
Marisa shot our engagement photos, my boudoir photos and then as of most recently our wedding photos. All of course were stunning and made me feel like the most beautiful girl in the world. My now husband, though he doesn’t love pictures, felt so great around Marisa not only during the photo shoots but he was also thoroughly impressed by how she captured him and us as a couple.
She is a professional, fun, energetic, charismatic, genuine person. She is who made my wedding day be as special as it was. Throughout the process of getting to know her, she has become a friend, a confidant, and someone I know I could depend upon and trust. It made spending the day with her on our big day that much more special.
If you are looking for someone who can help you through the process of engagement to marriage she is the girl for you. I was lucky enough to get to know Marisa and her to get to know me that we made a huge decision together that altered my experience throughout the wedding journey. Without her I wouldn’t have found basil place, my venue. Her advice and expertise was one of the largest factors in making our day as special as it was.
Please don’t hesitate to book her. Not only because she is amazing but if you wait too long, she will be booked! If I had to do it again, (so sad that it’s over) I wouldn’t think twice about having Marisa shoot any of the sessions - engagement, boudoir, or the wedding again.
Hands down the best photographer and now friend :) in Cleveland!!! -

My husband and I hired Marisa to do our wedding photography and she beyond exceeded our expectations! From the moment I spoke to Marisa she made me feel comfortable and at ease with such a big decision to find someone to capture our wedding. Our engagement photos were stunning and our wedding day experience with Marisa was easy, perfect, stress-free, and seamless. I didn't have to worry about photos at all because I knew that Marisa would handle all the family photos and candid moments perfectly. Every photo is better than the last. Marisa was there for us every step of the way on our wedding day and she even helped me change into my reception shoes before we made our grand entrance. Marisa is incredible!
All I can say is WOW! Marisa is seriously incredible. When it came to choosing wedding vendors my husband and I were super picky when it came to photography. I did a large amount of research to find Marisa and I couldn’t be more blown away by the entire experience start to finish! Not only did she make my husband and I feel completely comfortable in front of the camera, but she was also super fun and made sure to find all the right angles and lighting and knew exactly how to make my bridal and wedding photo visions come to life. Marisa made our wedding day run smooth with zero hiccups. I can’t stop looking at our entire wedding album. Marisa was truly the best wedding photographer from start to finish. She exceeded all of my expectations and I will continue to recommend her to anyone. So we haven't had our photos taken yet, but I found Marisa on IG. My fiance and I both love the darker-looking photos and hers match the aesthetic we are going for. She got back to me so quickly any time I had questions or needed something. She seems so sweet and her photos are great. Her prices are very fair. We looked at TONS of photographers and didn't want to have to spend an arm and a leg. We have her for 10 hours I believe for under $3k. She's willing to drive to Pittsburgh, meet us somewhere, whatever. We got lucky. -

Marisa was a literal dream to work with. From the initial booking to weeks after the wedding, she was constantly communicative, organized, personable, and just dang TALENTED. It felt like we were working with a friend through the whole process, and she made the photo sessions fun (quite an accomplishment for a couple that doesn't like their photo being taken!) While it is obvious her photos are breathtaking and capture the most perfect moments, what made her stand out the most is who she is as a person. She is incredibly genuine and attentive, and worked with us to change multiple day-of schedules, was always available for any questions and concerns, and was an absolute joy to work with on the wedding day. I cannot recommend her enough! -
