  You won't find a better DJ/MC!

  Without a doubt, Mark Banks was my favorite vendor we worked with for our wedding. My wife and I cannot recommend him enough -- seriously, book him if you are still looking for your audio vendor!
  
  Mark makes things easy in that he is able to handle ALL things audio related, including the ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner reception, toasts, and of course DJing. Not only that, but he does an absolutely phenomenal job at everything! One of the best parts about working with Mark is that he can play live music during the cocktail hour. He has a great voice and is super talented with the guitar, and we had many of our wedding guests comment on how much they enjoyed the live music aspect of our reception. Mark gave our cocktail hour a truly unique vibe compared to other weddings we have been to. He has a long list of songs available to choose from, with many different genres and artists to suit any crowd.
  
  We didn't notice a single audio issue the entire day -- no audio screeching or cracking, no cutouts, no mics not working unexpectedly... everything went without a hitch. We were also extremely impressed with each setup. For the ceremony, he had our officiant and myself (the groom) mic'd up with small wireless mics that clipped on to our suit lapels, so nobody had to hold a mic, which was one less thing for my wife and I to worry about. For the toasts, the wireless mic he provided worked perfectly and the audio was crystal clear. For the dancing, he had a fantastic setup with lights and even a smoke machine, and he did a great job keeping the energy level on the dance floor high the whole night long.
  
  Finally, it is important to mention that Mark is a genuinely friendly and warm person. He expressed multiple times how special it was for him to be part of our big day, and it was clear to us that he has a true passion for his craft and that he does everything he can to make the wedding day a truly memorable experience. He took the time to schedule multiple calls with us prior to our wedding weekend to ensure that he understood everything perfectly, which made a big difference in giving us peace of mind that things would run smoothly (and they did!).

  Best DJ/MC we could ask for

  There cannot be enough good things said about Mark Banks. Mark is an amazing and super friendly person that helped make our wedding memorable for not only our guests but for us as well. He's also insanely talented and extremely versatile, making him the complete package for your wedding! Mark's ability to play and sing a huge variety of songs on the acoustic guitar provided great entertinament for our guests during cocktail hour. He was also a great MC for both our wedding ceremony and reception. But lastly, he provided all the energy and enthusiasm as the DJ during the dance portion--by playing very upbeat songs and interacting with the guests--to help us cap off a great night. Working with Mark was one of the easiest parts of the wedding planning process, and it was very obvious he wanted to make the experience great for us to by asking us all the songs that we wanted to be played throughout the whole day, from the ceremony to the dance party. Many of our friends told us after the wedding how awesome Mark was during our wedding, so we would definitely recommend Mark to be the only entertainment solution you need to your wedding/event.

  Exceptional wedding guitar/vocals/DJ

  Our wedding would not have been the same without Mark Banks. He played guitar/vocals, and was also our MC/DJ. My husband and I saw him perform randomly in Monterey when we were first dating and having his services at our wedding was one of the best valued purchases I made. He’s easy to work with, hard working (arrived earlier and stayed later), and professional. His guitar/vocals is so unique and really created the ambiance - complimented by many guests. I’ve been to a fair number of weddings myself and thought he was an amazing DJ as well. I highly recommend his services!

  Incredible in every way

  Mark Banks is second to none! We picked him based on our venue saying we really didn’t have any other choice in the matter (“because he is the best” – our venue), and we are SO beyond glad we did! I
  STILL have people coming up to me asking for his info so they can hire him. He is incredible.
  
  Basically, I had a general idea of what I wanted music-wise for our wedding (a PARTY! Aka people DANCING), but aside from that, I was pretty clueless. Cue Mark. He did his thing, and I seriously couldn’t
  have envisioned or coordinated or choreographed anything better. From incredible guitar playing at the ceremony, to a performance at cocktail hour that was second to none (still the thing everyone raves
  about when the wedding comes up), to the PERFECT music at the dinner (I still don’t know how he just read mine and my husband’s minds and created a playlist of all our favorite songs in just the right
  genre), to asking us if he could get us drinks during dinner (seriously he is the nicest person I’ve ever met), to, finally, the party I always dreamed of… he crushed it! Just crushed it. My husband and I both
  had the best night of our lives mostly because of him, and I’m pretty sure most of our friends had the best nights of their lives as well…. Based off the dance moves I was seeing. During wedding planning, I
  waffled a little on whether to do a band or a DJ, the answer is easy – Mark Banks. Plain and simple.
  
  Oh! And he did all the mics and sound and everything for the ceremony and dinner, and it was perfect! I didn’t have to think about a thing. He just has it so down. Seriously, if you want a stress free,
  perfectly coordinated and smooth flowing wedding, as well as performances by one of the best musicians I've ever seen, book him.

  Talented Musician, Best CJ and biggest smile award goes to Mark!

  Mark was such a great addition to our wedding day! He started out with acoustic renditions of some of our favorite songs, played through the rain and had the most incredible smile the entire night. His energy was contagious! We didn't have a ton of song recommendations but he managed to figure out our tastes and nailed it with every song! We only had 27 guests but he kept the dance party going until the very last minute. Mark was great! Highly recommend!

  Mark was the DJ for my daughter's wedding. We had him play guitar and sing at the cocktail hour as well. He was even better than we hoped for. He has a knack for reading his audience and playing the perfect music. We only gave him a few suggestions beforehand and let him work his magic, which he did. I have honestly never seen so many people flock to a dance floor and stay there all night. Even the music he chose during the dinner hour was spot on. We received so many compliments on what a fun time and how great the DJ was. I emphatically recommend Mark Banks as both musician and DJ.

  Mark is a wonderful performer and DJ. His acoustic performance as guests gathered for our ceremony was so memorable, everyone loved it- but that was just the beginning. I really wanted a few bars of a song played as I walked down the aisle; Mark was SO marvelous - he learned it for me! As the evening progressed to dancing, Mark brought down the house- SO many of our guests danced the night away. Mark was so impressively conscientious of representing our vision, I’d hire him for any music needs. What a gem!

  Mark is the greatest! After going over a list of vendors provided to us by our venue, we went to his website and upon hearing his voice sing "Hallelujah," I was crying. Something about his voice just hit me, and we had have him perform at out late August wedding. Prior to our event I was able to meet him in person, talk with him regarding ideas for the ceremony/reception and also hear him perform. His use of different percussive instruments to create a unique sound was amazing. Come our actual wedding day, Mark performed vocals during the ceremony and cocktail hour and later went into DJ for the reception. During and after all of our guests were raving about him!! A few even took his business card! Mark is a special soul and has an amazing talent, one we are grateful to have witnessed. We know where he plays often and we will make special effort to go see him and hear him perform as much as we can. Thank you dear sir, we adore you!!

  I cannot thank Mark enough for the wonderful performance he provided for Catherine and Jake’s Wedding. Mark was by far the best male live vocal that I have ever come across in any event.  My friend and I couldn't stop talking about how amazing his voice was. Not only did he sing at their wedding ceremony, he was also the Dj for their reception. I was so pleased with his disc jockey services and received many compliments on his awesome music selection from the guests. Everyone was able to rocked the night away to their favorite hits. I would like to sincerely thank Mark for all the effort you put into making the reception a memorable event.

  Where do we start with Mark Banks? Its difficult to put in to words how brilliant he was for our wedding. From his acoustic set through to his DJing he was absolutely brilliant. We had a small wedding of 50 people & we knew the music was going to be a big part of our day. Mark was an obvious choice as we wanted live music combined with some classic tunes our guests could dance to. Mark played an acoustic number as both the bridesmaids & the bride walked down the aisle which was much nicer than playing recorded music. Mark kindly learnt an additional song that the bride wanted to walk down the aisle to. He then played his acoustic set for pre dinner drinks & during dinner. There was a throng of people surrounding him during his acoustic numbers absolutely mesmerised by his skill with the guitar. After dinner Mark did his DJ set and we didn’t really give him much direction as to what we wanted but he absolutely nailed it. Within 10 minutes the dance floor was full and stayed that way all night. Mark knows how to keep a crowd going. After the wedding we had so many comments from guests about how great the music was and how talented he was. If you’re looking for a skilled musician who can spin some great tunes then you can’t go past Mark Banks!!! Mark & Laura

When we were married in July, I just knew I couldn’t trust anyone but Mark with my closest friends and family. I have watched him perform for many of my clients and at various venues on the Central Coast and it’s clear that his talent is top-notch. I truly would have changed my wedding date if he wasn’t available… THAT’S how fabulous he is! There is simply no better choice and I knew he was capable of taking my wedding to the level that a professional wedding planner’s wedding should be. Inviting a ton of other industry experts, I had a bit of a reputation to uphold.  Mark excelled and our guests still don’t stop talking about him to this day.   LOVE Mark. I am so so happy we used him for our wedding in Big Sur in June. He was so responsive and accommodating throughout the whole process. He made sure he got to know my husband and myself, the vibe of the wedding, and what we were looking for. You could tell he really wanted to do an amazing job. And wow did he ever! He made sure to get there with plenty of time to set up in 3 different locations of the event space. He was there for cocktail hour, the ceremony, and part of dinner. Everyone loved him so much we asked him to stay longer, and he was super happy to do it. Our wedding was only 19 people and was more of a dinner party setting, and he brought that extra level to our wedding which separated it from just another dinner party. All my guests loved him and want to book him for their own events. I cant wait to see him perform again in the future. He is so amazing, cannot say enough how glad I am we had him at our wedding. It was an unforgettable day :-)

  LOVE Mark. I am so so happy we used him for our wedding in Big Sur in June. He was so responsive and accommodating throughout the whole process. He made sure he got to know my husband and myself, the vibe of the wedding, and what we were looking for. You could tell he really wanted to do an amazing job. And wow did he ever! He made sure to get there with plenty of time to set up in 3 different locations of the event space. He was there for cocktail hour, the ceremony, and part of dinner. Everyone loved him so much we asked him to stay longer, and he was super happy to do it. Our wedding was only 19 people and was more of a dinner party setting, and he brought that extra level to our wedding which separated it from just another dinner party. All my guests loved him and want to book him for their own events. I cant wait to see him perform again in the future. He is so amazing, cannot say enough how glad I am we had him at our wedding.   We hired Mark to play music at a formal holiday event. Mark is extremely professional, yet with a relaxed, easy-going manner that is friendly, approachable and engaging. He was very conscientious throughout the evening on the timing and execution of all that needed to happen throughout the event. He also was on-point with blending all the different styles of music perfectly to satisfy everyone of all ages. He had the dance floor full all night long and everyone had a amazing time. We highly recommend Mark Banks without hesitation!

  The first time we heard Mark Banks perform live, we knew he was special, and as we started planning our wedding, we knew we wanted him to be a part of it. Originally we intended to have Mark perform live music during our cocktail hour, but then we learned he could DJ the reception as well. We were very happy to kill two birds with one stone!
  
  When we met with Mark to go over our plans, we could tell he was filled with kindness and warmth that would really mesh well with our guests. During the planning stages, Mark was very organized and paid attention to every detail. His entire focus was to ensure that he understood our vision and how best he could make that happen for us. We corresponded with Mark many times leading up to our wedding: song requests, schedule adjustments, and other suggestions and ideas he had. Mark was incredibly flexible to our plans.
  
  During the reception, we received many compliments about Mark's live performance. He walked throughout the room with his guitar and mic, singing and interacting with our guests. When he switched to the DJ table, we heard many of our song requests being played and he kept the dance floor moving. The best part about Mark was that he kept checking in with us to make sure things were going well and we were okay with slight changes in schedule.   My now husband and I heard Mark Banks playing at the Intercontinental in Monterey nearly a year before our wedding (and pre proposal). We both knew immediately we wanted him to perform at our wedding. He was the element of the wedding we were most excited about - and he did not disappoint! Mark gave Ryan and I a great deal of special attention pre-wedding. We went out to meet with Mark to have a face to face a few months before the wedding. We highly recommend couples do that because you start setting a rapport before the wedding craziness gets going. We brainstormed songs for the ceremony and we left that day feeling beyond elated that we had hired Mark. Mark arrived super early to the wedding venue to get all of his equipment set up, for our wedding he transitioned from singing/playing music at the ceremony - to being a full performer/entertainer at the cocktail hour and continued that through dinner - then segued into an AWESOME DJ. His song choices and timing were amazing - the lighting and fog machine he brought was beyond belief. We were told countless times that our wedding was wonderful and I think that is in part to Mark's skills and finesse... and frankly his classiness. Hire Mark - he's the BEST!!!!

  I cannot believe that it took me SO long to write this post because raves from our guests about Mark make the top 5 comments and memories mentioned ALL the time. Mark from the very beginning was a pleasure to work with. My mom and I were wedding planning in Monterey and trying to figure out the best direction for live music while dining at the C restaurant and Mark was there playing during our lunch - we were sold immediately. Plus, he's a regular, so with a destination wedding and us recommending our guests eat at the same restaurant - many people were already familiar and in love with his style and vibe. He put me in contact with his management company, Kelly Productions who was extremely easy to work with and it put me at ease that I was able to align on the details with Mark prior to signing the contract.
  
  Having Mark at the Perry House was the perfect combination to create a very relaxed, classy vibe and my Uncles who are huge into music had a blast chatting with him and they bought his CDs which they all listen to on the regular. He was a fantastic DJ after the cake cutting and really make the whole event wonderful. I cannot thank him enough for making our day special - I'm actually quiet embarrassed I am just getting to this!

Not only is he an amazing musician, but he is an amazing person and we were so blessed to have him as apart of our celebration.
