  Aloha sunset wedding

  Aloha .... We wanted a simple Hawaiian wedding on one of our favorite beaches surrounded by ohana and friends. Kahu Kamuela made our special day easy and effortless with lots of Aloha! Kahu helped us get situated prior to the wedding and answered questions along the way as necessary.

  Beautiful, traditional & unique wedding with Kahu

  We couldn't have asked for anything more. Kahu was so present for us. I didn't have to worry about a thing. He performed a beautiful ceremony for us and made us feel like we were the first couple to get married! I highly recommend Kahu. Aloha!

  We could not have written vows which more clearly or beautifully expressed our own feelings and beliefs. Also, we were looking for both a Hawaiian ceremony and a ceremonialist of Hawaiian descent in order to appropriately honour the ancestors of the island. Kahu Kamuela has a true passion for his heritage and generously shared his knowledge with us. He is genuine, and held a ceremonial space that was both relaxed and truly sacred. It was a privilege to hear Kahu sing the traditional prayers and call in the blessing of our marriage. It is a memory both we and our guests will treasure. Kahu's daughter Selena added a very special light to our ceremony with her presence and beautiful hula dance.

  We could not have written vows which more clearly or beautifully expressed our own feelings and beliefs.   Kahu Kamuela performed a beautiful ceremony for us at Po'olenalena Beach at sunset and we could not imagine having a better ceremony. We organized our wedding with Kahu Kamuela at very short notice from Australia and his assistance with details such as suggesting the incredible wedding location and time and organizing our appointment with the marriage license agent was greatly appreciated. Our ceremony was everything we dreamed of and more and we would recommend the Kahu for anyone wishing to get married in Maui.

  Aloha , I would like everyone know our little story on finding this special kahu kamuela , my fiancé Kevin was working on finding that special someone to have a traditional hawaiian ceremony preformed for our special day, so I left it in his hands and I was getting worried as he kept saying no worry I will find someone, well after calling several on his list he was coming across everyone being booked for this special day, as far as 7 months out being the date was 12-13-14 it's now going to be very difficult to find someone so as we ask our friends and ohana ( which means family in hawaiian for any ideas as very few people do it the tradition hawaiian way, we then came across kahu kamuela that Kevin contacted and they met Kevin paid him and arranged him it be at our ceremony, I myself never met this kahu so was little nervous and then some unexpected health issues arrived for myself and I wasn't able to meet him prior to wedding, I was really impressed that he called us prior several times to discuss wedding over the phone as he was very busy and so were we, so asked us our colors which he even incorporated purple into his ceremony which was so awesome and our family from Californian, hilo, Oahu , Maui all enjoyed it . He gave us chicken skin he was so good and felt the warmth of his spirt with us on his blessing . I would for sure hire or recommend him into anyone looking for good services , I will also be using him to bless our home . Thank for making it a very memorable experience kahu kamuela ...

  Our entire wedding was made special because of Kahu Kamuela. His ceremony was the most beautiful part of our entire two weeks in Maui. The tenderness and care that he puts into every detail of the ceremony is phenomenal. I was a nervous wreck about planning the ceremony from far away, especially never having met the officiant. The minute I spoke to Kahu Kamuela on the phone all my stress melted away. So much so, we hired Maui Loa Weddings to help with coordination too! Kahu Kamuela is a calm, caring man that offers a peaceful presence to the ceremony. He was so completely present that any time I got distracted by the veil, or other things going on his words and chants brought me right back to the present moment...making a commitment of a lifetime to the man I love. The authentic nature of his Mauian/Hawaiian ceremony is steeped in generations of living in and loving Maui. His willingness to share this part of his heritage is a gift to anyone that hires him. The hula dancer was a highlight, and I would recommend adding it to your wedding for a touch of elegance that is uniquely Maui. The guitar player was also great. He always had a great big smile and eased some of the tension of waiting for me (the bride) to come down to the ceremony. We had friends and family tune in via webcast from all over the world, and everyone's comments were on how special the ceremony was. They were all blown away by the beauty of Kahu Kamuela's words, traditions, and chants. I would recommend Kahu Kamulea to anyone interested in a truly magical and transformative Hawaiian wedding.
