I came across Mayla Designs while searching for well-reviewed local invitation vendors. I live in CT and called around to a few South Asian inspired invitation vendors and was never happy with the customer service. Finding and talking to Nalini was like a breath of fresh air, despite not being a local vendor! Working long distance with her was no problem at all. She is usually available, otherwise calls or emails back promptly – which is key. Not only does she know the invitation/wedding industry well, she provides excellent consultative services. Prior to this, I had never created a custom invitation and for me, her expertise and consultative feedback were important. Throughout the process, I never felt any pressure to upgrade to a more expensive product. She was patient, honest, timely and I could genuinely tell that she wanted me to have the best product possible (while staying within my budget). The final product was BEAUTIFUL! Everything she had promised and then some! Truly a fantastic and fun experience! I highly, highly, highly recommend Mayla Designs!!!

Nalini was an absolute pleasure to work with when designing wedding programs for my brother-in-law’s wedding. Aside from customizing the design to match our vision of creating fan-type programs, Nalini was able to find paper to perfectly match our color scheme and included her own design elements, which added a level of elegance to the programs. Nalini was extremely professional to work with, providing helpful suggestions along the way and also extremely timely in delivering the product. The finished programs were absolutely beautiful and will surely brighten up the scene at the upcoming wedding. Thank you Mayla Designs!

Working with Mayla Designs was one of the few parts of our wedding planning process that went seamlessly. Nalini, the owner, was patient, professional and extremely easy to work with. What was most impressive about this experience was Nalini's dedication to making her client happy. She was 100% committed to making sure you are pleased with the end product. With us, a few last minute changes needed to be made and they were accepted by her with grace and fully executed with no mistakes. The second thing that impressed me about Mayla Designs was their selection. They can truly make what you are envisioning. We are an Indian couple and we were keen on mixing tradition and culture with a modern look and feel. Also, we wanted to inject our own personalities into the invitation. WIth Nalini's expertise, she helped us create an invite that met all of our needs. What's more was Nalini's attention to detail, making sure that our ideas were incorporated but that functional details about how the invitation were considered. I wanted to incorporate several different concepts into one invitation. I distinctly remember her thinking about the final product and how it would fold and sit in the envelope. There was a hitch in the design we came up with and thanks to Nalini, she was able to recognize the issue and she came up with a beautiful solution to the problem without sacrificing any of the details were wanted. What did we gain in the end? A beautiful invitation that our guests are still talking about. We also ordered other paper items from Mayla Designs all of which had a similar theme to it. We had 4 days of events! And the overarching design looked so nice throughout. I would recommend Mayla to anyone who wants one less thing to worry about with their event. Let Mayla designs make your dream invite a reality! And dont you worry about budget. They seem to be one of the few vendors that will customize something without breaking the bank.

Mayla Designs is now in Northern VA, where I live. But I believe they often do work in NJ/NY area as well. They did an amazing job on our invitations, and many of our guests commented on them! We had an Indian wedding, but we didn't do the typical Indian Style invitations. We designed our own, and they were very prompt in making any changes for us, and sending us online proofs. We went back and forth making updates for about a week or so. The invitations are definitely printed on high-quality paper. I've seen invitations that come from India..they're usually crooked, some piece of it is missing or falling apart, or they misspellings in them, and they just look "cheap". (My mother-in-law got her own family invitations made in India, and they were SUPER ugly) But the ones from Mayla that we ordered were beyond our expectations! They're very detail-oriented too, so if you misspell something they'll point it out. They have a TON of paper selections, designs, colors, and prototypes you can look thru as well. I definitely recommend them for invitations for any type of wedding or event!

Nalini did an amazing job with our invitations. She was very easy to work with, had beautiful samples of the invitations and everything was ready on time. Her invitations are absoultely stunning. I wanted something a bit different and unique and her Indian inspired designs were just that. I have received TONS of compliments from my friends and my sister loved them so much she hired Mayla for her invitations too!

I was desperately searching for Asian-inspired designs that were not cheesy/cliche and Mayla was the only vendor I could find with what I was looking for; what was even better was that she was less than an hour away because I was really hoping to find someone where I could view things in person. We found exactly what we were looking for in terms of design/pattern, but Nalini was able to help us custom design the invitation to better fit our more simple needs and budget. Nalini was also willing to send us a pdf of the beautiful design pattern for free so we could get it printed onto our wedding cake which was awesome.
There were a few frustrating times in terms of responsiveness/timing, but it really boiled down to miscommunication and me not being more clear about what I needed (ie- being too flexible and not giving her a concrete deadline). My recommendation is to not be afraid to ask questions or be clear about what you're looking for, deadlines, etc. But everything was fixed with just an extra in person meeting to clear up any confusions/misunderstandings and in the end we had the most amazing and beautiful final product and we could not have been happier.
