  Best day ever!

  I can’t say enough about Melissa! She went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable throughout the whole process and answered any and all questions we had. Her choice on the second photographer for our wedding was amazing too! That being said we had double the most gorgeous pictures! Melissa went out of her way to get the best shots...even crawling on the ground in her pregnant state! Lol She made sure I was calm and happy throughout the whole day! Our day was the Best Day Ever because of Melissa! Cheers!

  Melissa was recommended to us through one of my best friends who used her. She immediately felt like a best friend to me. She met with my mother and me to get to know me and my vision and understand the background of our love story. She truely wanted to capture the happiness and love we have for one another. I had told her I wanted to do our engagement photos downtown and had made some suggestions on where. I did not even consider going to North Ave beach and she convinced me it would be beautiful. NOt only did the photos come out amazing but my finace and I got to spend an amazing day in July on the beach in the city. We were so comfortable with her. My finace (who hates taking pictures) even enjoyed himself.
  What I loved most about her is she felt like a friend we have had for a long time, not just a random person taking our photos. She talked with us about our lives and her own! She also has been great about recommending other vendors (video, floral, hair, makeup.) I can't wait for her to be by my side on our wedding day!!
  Engagement photos were included in the package! IT was great to get to know her during this session.

  Absolutely LOVE Melissa!!! She was very professional and made everything run smoothly. She took our engagement pictures as well as our Wedding day pictures. She has great ideas and also includes your ideas too. One of the biggest things I loved about her is how comfortable she makes you feel while taking pictures. My husband can't stand taking pictures and is very uncomfortable taking multiple pictures. She made him feel such at ease that he Shockingly didn't complain once through the engagement pictures and only once (at the very end) of our wedding day portraits. I couldn't believe it! I'm forever grateful to her for making him feel so comfortable that we ended up with so many amazing photos. Working with Melissa is so easy it takes so much stress away. Plus you don't have to worry about getting sub-par photos, quality guaranteed! I will most definitely be using her for future photos and highly recommend her.

  Melissa Marie Photography was hands-down the best decision we made out of our entire wedding planning experience. Right from the beginning, Melissa was so sincere in trying to understand our vision in its entirety so that she could capture this chapter of our lives exactly how we imagined. Melissa took this vision and created photos that went so far above and beyond what we could have ever hoped for or dreamed of ourselves. Even our engagement photos, which were taken in the middle of a rainstorm despite Melissa offering to reschedule, were the dreamiest pictures that felt like they belonged in a magazine. Fast forward to our wedding day where Melissa went above and beyond just your typical photographer. From the second she walked into the room, she was half-therapist, half-photographer, as she made sure I was completely calm and felt at ease so I could enjoy the best day of my life. There were also plenty of times throughout the day that Melissa made sure we were staying on track and where we needed to be at the right time, and really stepped up into a wedding coordinator role at times. The photos that Melissa took of our wedding day were absolutely breathtaking. As my husband and I went through them together, we were completely speechless. Melissa took photos that have the ability to put us right back into that moment of our wedding day, and with a level of beauty that we could not believe. There is not a single photo that we were disappointed with and now have the most precious wedding gift and keepsake that we could have ever asked for.   Melissa is THE BEST. When I was looking for a photographer I knew that I wanted someone who understood how important the pictures that I will keep forever were to me. I made a list of about 45 photographers in the Chicagoland area, from there spoke with just under 20. I met three in person and easily decided Melissa was the best there was. Every single picture she took was creative/original and there was the perfect mix of candid shots and posed shots. We had "Design sessions" prior to both the engagement photos and the wedding so that she could understand what I was hoping to capture. She did an amazing job. The day of your wedding the last thing you want to worry about was getting enough or the right pictures. Melissa took care of everything. The girl stayed throughout the night and was holding my drink/fixing my dress more than my MOH or bridesmaids! Shes incredible.

  Wow. There are pretty much no words for how much I love Melissa. Her photos actually inspired me to choose the venue I ended up with - I saw what she had done with another wedding there and I immediately fell in love. Once I booked the venue, I was overjoyed to find out that Melissa was still free for my wedding day. Her pictures have such a romantic, intimate feeling to them and, especially after I spoke with her on the phone, I couldn't imagine anyone else shooting our wedding.
  Our package included an engagement shoot so that we could all get to know each other. I love that this is something Melissa includes in her packages. Not only did we get some BEAUTIFUL engagement photos out of it, we both felt so comfortable with Melissa after hanging out with her for the day. She has a way of making everyone relaxed and comfortable in front of the camera. After that, I knew the wedding day would be a breeze.
  And it was! She was like a sixth bridesmaid! She went out of her way to make the day perfect and was helpful in more ways than I could have imagined. She even stayed late to make sure that we got all the pictures we wanted! Literally everyone loved her - even the groomsmen were raving about how great she was!
  And, oh my God, we just got our pictures yesterday. They are stunning. Stunning doesn't even begin to cover it. She works on every single image and, wow, you can totally tell. I am in love with all of them. I can't wait to hang them all over our house!
  If you are looking for a wedding photographer, GO WITH MELISSA! You will not regret it - she is the absolute best!

  Melissa took photos for my engagement and wedding and did an amazing job. She takes the time to get to know you in ways other photographers do not, and she strives to see your vision for the photos she will take. She is driven, kind, and extremely talented at what she does. She is incredibly helpful with anything that may need to get done the day of the wedding, and was protective of my husband and I's precious time together. On top of all of that, we will cherish the photos she took for our whole lives. We absolutely LOVE them and we love Melissa, too!

  I cannot find the words to say how incredible our experience with Melissa was for our wedding. From the beginning, she was so supportive. She would send us e-mails with general information about wedding planning, to help us in the overwhelming process. She was very helpful and flexible in planning our Engagement photography session, and during our entire wedding day. She had an amazing rapport with our venue - there was a point when we were taking pictures with our bridal party prior to the start of the reception where I realized that we were running late, quickly approaching the time we were supposed to begin the reception. Melissa had anticipated this before I even realized we were late and had already worked with the venue to adjust the timing of the events. She worked in such an amazing, cheerful, and understanding manner with my very large, loud family and bridal party. She had profound patience while working with the crowds and the children in the group. And in the end, we were speechless in seeing the beauty and love that she captured throughout our wedding day. Her photos were beyond beautiful! We would absolutely recommend her - we had such a wonderful experience with her as our wedding photographer!!

  Melissa Marie Photography is ABSOLUTELY amazing! I would highly recommend her to everyone! She is kind, sweet, thoughtful, and attentive to your needs! She is wonderful at what she does and captures great pictures! We did both our engagement and wedding pictures with her upon a friend's recommendation and quite frankly I think it was the easiest and best decision of my wedding. She is professional but fun! She even took bobby pins out of her own hair and put them in mine when I had a few stray hairs! She was wonderful at helping me to remember to take a deep breath and enjoy the moment. I will forever have these amazing photos from an amazing person and photographer. I couldn't have been happier with the services. Nicee, her co-photographer was also super kind and did great job capturing my groom's day!!!!! I think she should get extra credit for putting up with him and his groomsman:)

  Melissa is amazing at what she does! The quality of the pictures of my wedding were outstanding! Many friends and family commented on how beautiful they were. Plus, Melissa is amazing. She is such a kind person and does a great job blending into the day and being there to catch the moments and offering a kind smile and being supportive through out the day! I would highly recommend her for any of your photography needs, not just wedding. She has done my friends children's pictures and they are wonderful as well.

  Working with Melissa throughout our photo process was an amazing experience! She is extremely professional, dedicated and her quality of work is second to none. Our engagement photos were everything we wanted & our wedding photos still bring tears to our eyes. The photos allowed us to see the love and fun each and every guess had at our wedding!   We heard of Melissa Marie Photography because they were listed on our reception location's "recommended vendors" list. I am SO glad we went with them! Melissa Marie herself was not available for our wedding date, however her assistant Nicee was and she was AMAZING! She's cute and fun and works her magic with the camera. They use two cameras to take all of their pictures just on the off chance that one breaks during the shoot. Nicee was getting on all levels to take pictures, laying on the ground, climbing on tables/chairs, everything! She got some amazing shots (and we got A TON of photos)! They give you each shot in color, sepia, and black & white. I told her I like vintage and she delivered! She did our engagement pictures at North Ave Beach in Chicago and we took our wedding pictures at the Chicago Botanic Garden and then at Kemper Lakes Golf Club (where our actual wedding was). We went "off-roading" at our engagement shoot and walked off paths into some amazing wooded areas. We got some great pictures of us in the nature and of us with the amazing Chicago skyline, it was the best of both worlds! I HIGHLY recommend Nicee with Melissa Marie Photography and will be calling them again when we start a family for maternity, baby, and family photos that they do as well!

  We instantly knew Melissa was "the one" after meeting with her at Starbucks on a chilly Sunday afternoon. She completely understood what I was talking about when I said I wanted vintage-y artistic photos vs. more traditional realistic pictures, plus she was adorable and easy to talk to. She got to my mom's house early in the morning of our July 28th wedding in the middle of the getting-ready frenzy and immediately jumped into the party, taking amazing shots of my accessories and dress and of the girls getting ready. From there she stayed with us for the entire day, not leaving the reception until the very end of the night and capturing every single moment along the way. Our pictures are absolutely stunning - I may be a little biased, but they are truly beautiful and I will be proudly joining the ranks of "girls who have an entire wall of wedding photos because they just can't choose their favorite." Melissa was fun and easy to work with, a true professional, and she's passionate about her job. Highly, highly recommended!!

  I cannot say enough great things about Melissa. From the minute I booked with her I felt at ease with our wedding photography and so happy we choose her for our September 8 wedding. She was beyond helpful in every way. She shot amazing engagement photos for us!! We get non stop compliments. I even made one of the photos into a big canvas and hung it in our living room!! My wedding day was full of craziness and she was like another bridesmaid helping me with everything. My hairstylist unfortunately put my veil in wrong and Melissa came right to my rescue to fix it!!! Every step throughout the day she helped with so much not just our wedding photos. She helped not only put my veil in but helped take it out. Then my dress had a wire poke through in the top of the corset right under the arm. She went and got sissors to cut it out. I cannot thank her enough for everything she helped me with. If I could give her a 10 I would!! She is beyond an amazing photographer!! Nicee also was our second photographer and she too was like another bridesmaid. She was so incredably nice and helpful!! She was more then willing to get right in on the action of the dance floor. My experience with Melissa and Nicee is beyond phenomunal!!! I am so thankful and honored to say they were our wedding photographers!!!

  Melissa was absolutely wonderful! She felt like my assistant for the day. She makes you feel very comfortable....she felt like part of the family. The pictures she took were beautiful. I was very happy and I am a very particular person when it comes to pictures. I would recommend her to anyone who wants to have beautiful pictures taken by a person who obviously loves her job!

  All I can say is PHENOMENAL!!!! I don’t think the day would have gone as smoothly had Melissa not been there. She kept me calm and answered all my what’s next/is this normal questions… Her experience and professionalism were key in making the day run smoothly. I was so excited to see the pictures that I stalked her blog every day on my honeymoon. And, when we got them (within 1 week of the wedding) they were so much more than what we could have ever expected. Some of them I can hardly believe are me! We're only sad that we do not have enough wall space in our home to hang them all. Thank you so much Melissa. We will recommend you to everyone we know who needs a photographer for their wedding or any other event… you will definitely be seeing us again in the future.

  From the moment we met Melissa we knew she was the photographer for our November 2009 wedding! She was punctual, organized, flexible and knowledgeable. She put us at ease right away with her calm and cheerful demeanor and we left feeling like we were "people" to her...not just "clients." Over the course of the upcoming months Melissa immediately responded to emails and questions asked of her. She gave great suggestions and followed through on everything she said she was going to do - without me needing to remind her. Certainly a relief with everything else that goes into planning a wedding! Our engagement session was awesome and really gave us the opportunity to "practice" together for the big day. Melissa worked so hard to put us at ease that my husband (fiance at the time) and I were really able to just get lost in the moment with each other, often forgetting that she was taking pictures of us at all. To this date, our engagement pictures are some of our favorites. Melissa also helped coordinate the hire of our 2nd photographer who was just as creative and awesome as she is. Melissa communicated everything we wanted and needed directly to him - one less person for me to worry about contacting! They worked really well together on the day of our wedding and their images complimented each other really well. On the day of, Melissa was available as soon as I wanted her to be there and hung in there for the entire day! A considerably long time from getting ready in the morning to the end of the reception near midnight. Last but not least, Melissa worked super hard to get our wedding pictures back to us ASAP. We could not wait to see all of the pictures captured over the course of the day...and we didn't have to wait long. In less than a month (she's usually even faster than that...we just had so many images!) the pictures were up on the website and discs in our hands. We highly recommend Melissa Marie Photography to any bride and groom out there looking for an intimate experience with their photographer. You will not be disappointed! After it's all said and done, you pretty much just have your pictures and your own memories. Melissa was well worth every single penny...and quite reasonably priced at that!
