    Timothy & Anita August 25, 2019 The Metropolitan Room

    I had looked at many places to have my wedding but when I walked into the Metropolitan Room it was the place!! The people are so professional and they helped me make good decisions for my special day. This is my first wedding and last so it is a big event for me. I can't wait for my day August 25, 2019 I'm so excited and would recommend this venue to all future brides in Fayetteville and surrounding areas. Timothy and Anita coming soon!!!

    My wedding is next September and I cannot wait to have our reception at The Metropolitan Room! It is beautiful! Debbie is amazing! I'm so glad I found this place!

    I was delighted to find this venue in my search for my wedding next March. I was immediately contacted by their new event director Debbie. Debbie was flexible with a time for me to view the building and seemed very knowledgeable about event planning from beginning to end. I am planning from out of town and I can already foresee her being a huge asset. You are given several spaces for the price of one which makes it a great value. Since my ceremony will be at the park across the street it is nice to have the convenience of several spaces so that I will have a rain plan. Due to my experiences thus far I've booked The Met for my March wedding and that is largely due to Debbie. If you are working with a small budget and still want a beautiful site with knowledgeable staff this is the place for you. I can't wait to come back next March to rave about my total experience.
    Update: As stated above I am excited to update my review after my wedding. I cant brag enough about Debbie at The Met. I had SEVERAL hickups during planning which caused me to need to use the Met for both ceremony and reception. Debbie went above and beyond to help me not only before but even the day of my ceremony. She proved to be an even bigger resource than I knew she would....even down to running to get food for me and my wedding party once she realized that we hadn't eaten. I wisely chose to hire her to do my linens and centerpieces, probably my second best decision (2nd to picking The Met) and she did an awesome job. Our guest went on and on about how beautiful everything was and this was all thanks to Debbie. The only regret I have is not hiring her as my event planner (which didn't slow her down one bit). We are forever grateful to Debbie for everything she did to make our day (and planning) move as smoothly as possible. I could go on and one about all the things done but I will just say if you are looking for a space with a helpful staff and on a budget this is the right choice!

    They have done an excellent job working with me. I have had to change my wedding date and I have not lost my venue or my money.

    Please do not plan your event at the Metropolitan Room

    I am not even sure where to start. Our event was held in December 2018. Our team lives all over the country and plan almost all of our events sight unseen. Upon arrival, the layout of the room was a layout that did not belong to my event and was from 2017. I was told repeatedly that it was mine and that I provided the layout. This is not true at all, as I asked several times for a room layout and was never provided one. We had to start from square one when we arrived. The overhead projector didn't work. The sound system didn't work. There was no Wifi as promised. The linens arrived 15 minutes before we were supposed to leave the venue. I had to hire an A/V tech at the last minute and thank goodness had brought my own projector with me from CA. I was told over and over again by the manager that she was retired and didn't normally work on Mondays. It was in our contract from day one that we could come in on Monday to set up the day prior to our event. Management was rude from the start. During the event, I had an attendee tell me that when she asked management about the bathroom being out of toilet paper and the garbages being full, she was told, "This is the 6th stalking about the restroom and I am amazed how much paper you have gone through." I am not sure what they expected with 200 women in attendance. The only thing nice about this venue is that it is a cool old bank. I would highly recommend looking elsewhere for your event.

    Unethical and Not customer Friendly

    A/C and elevator broken. Management did not inform the couple. The couple found out on their own...7 days before their wedding! It seems that management attempted to hide it. Management offered no solution and not even an apology...other than setting up several fans during the wedding & reception. The couple has to find another venue less than a week before their wedding. New manager (Corky) has not provided a refund. She refuses to provide the contact information for her boss or owner of the venue. This venue is unethical and is not customer friendly. Please look at reviews on google review and Facebook.
