If you are looking for an amazingly talented jazz pianist who can work with any musician, then this is your man!! He is 100% professional and super NICE to work with. I could NOT BE HAPPIER with Michael's musicianship and his kindness and flexibility. I certainly hope this is only the first of many endeavors with Michael. I sent him charts for multiple vocal tunes (all standards) with my own arrangements and he was prepared and completely intuitive in working with me and three vocalists and 2 flautists. We had a morning wedding with 70+ people. Michael played music while people were being seated and then again during the reception which was held in the same space. He was super helpful beforehand, very accommodating, offered ideas, listened to what we wanted and went above and beyond. He understands what is needed at a wedding, what we wanted and he set the perfect tone, played at exactly the right volume... Michael is perfect to feature during a cocktail hour but he's also great during a wedding ceremony when he brings in one of his talented singers. If you're having a party, his music is a soothing backdrop. Michael has always been dependable and professional. Michael is one of those people who really goes the extra mile...he's careful and courteous and professional in all of those non-musical aspects that are SO important (arriving early, setting up before guests get there, being conscious of the volume of the music, etc). I hired him for my parent's 50th wedding anniversary reception and he was absolutely PERFECT...so many guests commented on how classy & refined the music was and how it unobtrusively added to this highly social setting. KUDOS to Mike for bringing his "A game" and offering the ideal complement to the occasion!Michael is one of those people who really goes the extra mile...he's careful and courteous and professional in all of those non-musical aspects that are SO important (arriving early, setting up before guests get there, being conscious of the volume of the music, etc). My wife and I hired Michael Beling to provide the live music at our wedding, and we were absolutely delighted with that decision. The band was very professional, respectful, well dressed and courteous, and the music was perfect. Michael is proficient in jazz, classical, rock, soul, and funk, and was happy to provide what we wanted. In our case, per our request, Mike provided a jazzy variation on “Here Comes the Bride,” lovely renditions of “Praise God from Whom All Blessings Flow,” and Leonard Cohen’s, “Hallelujah,” as well as cocktail lounge instrumental renditions of “Sheena is a Punk Rocker” by the Ramones and “God Save the Queen” by the Sex Pistols that had my 93 year old aunt smiling and tapping her feet.
