User1863010 Sent on 10/14/2014I work just a few blocks from this storefront and found my way to Michael F & Co. less than 2 weeks before my wedding - thank God! Earlier that week, I had dropped my engagement ring off at my original jeweler to have the halo on my ring adjusted - that way a wedding band would sit flush, nicely underneath. When I picked up my ring, I was shocked to see my engagement completely changed (never agreed to that!) and no wedding band in sight.
A few doors down I found Michael F & Co., where I was met with warmth and amazing customer service in response to my "ring trauma." I literally was in tears in the middle of the store and the owner and staff assured me that everything would be OK and that they could make me a new (correct) setting and the wedding band I wanted to match... just in time for my wedding that was almost a week away at that point. This team did just that and were a pleasure to work with. I can't thank them enough for their kindness and I'm constantly reminded of the quality of their work every time I stare down at my wedding band!!! -
User866465 Sent on 07/16/2012My husband got my engagement ring here and I was absolutely amazed at how well they made my ring. It was perfect, down to every last detail. Since I was so happy with it, we got our wedding bands here too. As soon as Michael looked at my engagement ring, he knew exactly which wedding band to show me. He did not try to up-sell me at all. The wedding band and engagement ring were perfect together. He also picked out a ring that was well suited for my husband. We tried to look at/try on other rings in the store to see if we liked others, but quickly realized that Michael's choices were the best ones. He and his staff are very professional and we felt well attended to. Highly recommended! -

We worked with Solomon on both engagement and wedding rings, before buying the wedding rings here. Solomon was knowledgable, forthcoming with recommendations, but also willing to listen and work with us on changes we wanted to make. We were very happy with the end product and the value, as well as the service provided. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend. -
User1266236 Sent on 07/31/2013Last fall, my wonderful boyfriend sought Michael F and Company out for a particular micro pave setting.
Initially, Michael tried to sell him a stone of terrible proportions, at top dollar. Imagine your worst nightmare diamond district experience- condescending sales people, pressure to make a deposit, moving targets for pricing- and my favorite- what's your budget used car lot type questioning.
I tried to work with Michael directly, letting him know what proportions were acceptable. Eventually, he did source a very pretty stone and my boyfriend purchased the ring (at the same price Michael tried to sell a poor stone for). I only later learned the cost of the stone, and was horrified Michael over- charged my boyfriend by about 30% the stone's value.
Michael will tell you he is selling at his wholesale prices- be careful. He is not. There is total transparency out there and you can find pricing via Rapaport and Pricescope (tools my boyfriend didn't know to use). I was given the ring some time after it was purchased for my 40th birthday. And while its lovely, the construction of the setting is so poor that it does not stand up on my finger. There just is not enough weight in the shank to support it. I let Michael know I wasn't happy with the ring and he did not stand behind the ring at all.
