Amazing Photographer and now Friend
Caitlyn and I had Mick’s website sent to us by my uncle who does landscape photography after he found her through the Raleigh Art Museum. Reaching out to her was the best decision ever!!!
We talked to Mick over the phone and right away, we knew she was the right fit for our wedding photography. She is such a personal person and easy to talk to. We first met her at Fort Fisher down on the coast for our engagement shoot. We both never really got pictures taken professionally so it was very new to us, but Mick was able to walk us through it and asked what kind of pics we wanted/didn’t want. She made it so easy and fun, taking pics by the trees and on the beach/rocks, that we lost track of time…
When we got back to our cars, the gates were locked and our cars were on the inside of the fort, so after some looking around, some laughs, and thoughts that we were stuck there all night, I was able to squeeze my Jeep and Mick’s car through a little sidewalk… crisis averted. This would only happen to me, and this was a perfect indication of the type of person Mick is. She didn’t freak out, she just looked at it and smiled, with her cool, calm persona, and made the best out of the situation. Again, we knew we made the right choice.
Come wedding day, Mick and her fellow photographer Jaclyn worked at our wedding. Everything was easy and smooth, just like our engagement shoot (minus getting our cars locked in a gate). We had a blast taking our pics in Southport and cruising around on the golf cart. Our pictures came out perfectly, Mick and Jaclyn did a great job scouting and just getting to know Caitlyn, myself, and our families. They fit right in so well that we didn’t notice them throughout the night, but they were there, taking pictures, and capturing our special day… true professionals.
If you are looking for a photographer who is cool, calm, professional, but also an artist at her trade, go with Mick. She makes you feel so at ease and relaxed but can bring out the best side of you. I have only amazing things to say about Mick and her husband. We got married in a hurricane and every thing got turned upside down! But Mick and her husband were still there to capture all of the crazy moments and adjusted on the fly to the change of ceremony and reception. They did a beautiful job capturing our special day and I am forever grateful!I have only amazing things to say about Mick and her husband. Mick is my favorite photographer I've ever worked with! We had her do our family portraits this year and also she did newborn shots in the hospital after I had my second son. Mick is extremely helpful and encouraging, she made me feel so comfortable and beautiful-even though I had just given birth 8 hours before! She helped us with poses so we never had to stop and think of some or stand their awkwardly or nervously. She kept the shoot flowing and got so many of my family in our natural states. She edited the photos quickly and beautifully! Everyone thinks our photos are from a magazine photo shoot! I highly recommend Mick to everyone I know and I can't wait to do another shoot with her! I've never been so happy with family photos. She managed to capture all of us looking our best at the same time- a difficult feat with two babies! THANK YOU, Mick! Mick's been a very close friend of mine since junior high. I've seen her photography talents grow over the last years, so when we got engaged, she was the first person I considered to capture our special day. She has a way of capturing parts of people's personalities that may otherwise go unnoticed. It's this authenticity that I really hoped for when it came to remembering our wedding. Since we've been close for so long, I was curious to see how it would go on the day of, with Mick balancing interacting with my family/friends and managing a tight photography schedule. She was the consummate professional. I have no idea how she did it! She managed to get every shot we outlined, all while staying calm, collected, and beyond friendly with everyone who crossed her path. It was so reassuring having her by my side. Perhaps some of that is because of our friendship, but I have no doubt that the combination of her easygoing spirit and attention to detail would leave any bride feeling reassured on her wedding day. One of my favorite things about Mick's photography is that she zeroed in on my VIP guests (family, wedding party) and ensured everyone was captured in moments, not just in formal portraits. What a gift to give our guests. It also rained (poured), and Mick handled it with ease - she had no hesitations letting me know when it was time to fix my hair or stop the fake smiles. Plus, we were in a tiny, HOT, jam-packed chapel and she still managed to get all of the angles of our faces during the ceremony. Finally, we had some issues with our wedding schedule, and it was Mick who stepped up to help (not our wedding planners). I feel so lucky that to have had her by my side on my wedding day. It was a gift beyond the photos that we received. If you're looking for a photographer who will take the lead when needed, become part of the family while still being the professional you want, and capture your true selves, choose Mick and relax knowing this detail is in good hands.Mick's been a very close friend of mine since junior high. We could never thank Mick enough, for all of her hard work, patience, dedication, flexibility, and love for our special day. Mick not only did our wedding photos but she did our engagement photos as well. It's been more than a year since we shot the engagement photos and we still love them just as much. Still get complimented on how beautiful our engagement photos are. My husband and I loved the look and idea of engagement photos in a wide open field of high grass, Mick was totally open to it. She let us take as many photos as we liked, went to a few different spots, and didn't make us feel rushed or uncomfortable at all. My husband and I both feel like we aren't photogenic, but that night was different, Mick made us feel completely comfortable, confident, and okay to laugh and love in front of a camera. Mick met us a few days before our wedding, (traveled a long ways to do so) to check out our venue, meet with the coordinator, and the owner of the place, Kellermans Event Center in White Bear Lake, MN. She wanted to see the beauty that we saw inside and outside of the place, and make sure she understood everything we wanted, she communicated with the venue staff to work with them as well. The day of the wedding, our bridal party was off to a late start, Mick was completely flexible with her time, didn't complain about our tardiness one bit. She just kept shooting and did it with such peace. She stayed our whole day, from the time we were in pajamas in the morning until the time it was ready for us to get back in our jams. She captured so many moments we may not have seen or even known about had it not been for her and her talent behind the camera. Looking back at our wedding day photos is like a dream every time. They are seriously so beautiful. We look at our pictures and feel like we are back in that moment once again, and it doesn't get much better than that! I can't say enough good things about Mick, I HIGHLY recommend Mick Schulte Photography. It's been almost 2 years since Kriasty and I got married. I feel so bad that we have yet to leave a review. We hired Mick as our wedding photographer and she brought her husband along and did an amazing job! She was professional, fun, engaging, and seemed to be everywhere without you even knowing. We got plenty of her pictures blown up and framed. My favorite one... I swear i wonder if that picture is really us or if it was torn out of a wedding magazine. Mick is a wonderful photographer who is up-and-coming, so if you're considering using her services at all, go ahead and book her! I promise you, she won't be available for long. My husband and I are both photographers and we were both very apprehensive about this part of the wedding planning process because we knew it was going to be hard to give up this creative process to someone else. However, Mick is so incredible at what she does and we had so much confidence in her that neither one of us took a single photo on our wedding day! We got to relax and just let her take the reins. What I love most about Mick's style is that it's modern, romantic, and soft, (a look that is very much "in" for wedding photography) while still being fresh, classic, and not over-stylized, so you know you'll still enjoy your photos for years to come. She has an amazing natural talent for this type of photography and she composes a truely beautiful photograph. Your collection of photos will have their own artistic flaire with a unified look that you will instantly fall in love with. I also love that she doesn't over-process her photos--you will look natural, but the photograph will showcase you as a couple in the best possible way. It was truly a pleasure and privilege to work with Mick and I can't wait to see what the future has in store for her. Mick was so much fun to work with and our photos, both Engagement and Wedding were fantastic! She was perfect at the wedding and all of friends loved her personality. She really brings a lot of fun to being photographed and has great talent! Mick was wonderful to work with from start to finish! She was super understanding, friendly, and completely rolled with the punches. I hate to say that I am not the most organized person in day to day life, as you can imagine planning a wedding magnified my organizational lack of skills, she never seemed frazzled or upset when I missed a meeting, or took forever to email her back, she was completely professional and calm throughout the wedding, and she definitely helped the day of the keep me somewhat calm, and keep the pace of the wedding going. Mick did an engagement session with us (& our dog Betty), as well as our wedding and both sets of pictures turned out amazing and will be cherished forever!! Mick, and her husband Mark who came to assist Mick with the wedding, are just really nice people that genuinely care about your experience during the wedding (Mick and I talked about a photojournalistic style, and that worked amazingly, I love all the candid shots!), and are really good at what they do!
